Gakken Plus Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Japan&#039;s leading publisher Gakken Holdings Co., announced on October 13 the launch of &amp;quot;CAPA asia,&amp;quot; a website to provide information on photography for Southeast Asia, in commemoration of the Gakken group&#039;s 70th founding anniversary. Gakken Plus publishes &amp;quot;CAPA,&amp;quot; the best-selling magazine on photos and still cameras in Japan. Since its start in 1981, CAPA has been providing high-quality information for photo fans, photographers, and camera makers. Now CAPA asia wants to spread the joy of photography in Southeast Asia by becoming a bridge between photo lovers and professional photographers in the region and camera makers.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
To celebrate the opening of the website, Gakken Plus is running a photo contest, &amp;quot;Kick Off of CAPA asia: Photo Contest with Photozou.&amp;quot; Entries are accepted in four categories: Snapshot, Portrait, Landscape &amp;amp; Nature, and Creative. The chief judge is Kazuyoshi Nomachi, a distinguished photographer whose works appear in National Geographic magazine. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Supported by Canon Singapore, Fujifilm, Nikon Singapore and Sony South East Asia, the contest gives a special camera or lens as a prize to each winner.&lt;br /&gt;
