Odakyu Electric Railway’s "Digital Hakone Freepass" Tickets Now Available via Klook Website

Odakyu Electric Railway Co., Ltd. and Hong Kong-based Klook Travel Technology Limited have started selling digital tickets to foreign travelers to Japan, making it possible for them to purchase tickets with their smartphones for popular tourist destinations near Tokyo such as Hakone via Klook’s online site.

The new service allows those travelers, who have booked digital tickets on Klook’s website, to receive their digital tickets via Odakyu’s "EMot Online Tickets" without bothering to wait in line to get tickets at onsite ticketing booths.

In line with the start of the new service, a 20% discount campaign will kick off on October 1 (Tuesday) for those travelers who purchase the Digital Hakone Freepass from Mainland China, South Korea, Hong Kong and Taiwan via the Klook online site.

The browser-based website allows passengers to purchase Odakyu tickets on their smartphones without downloading a dedicated app. Passengers can buy tickets wherever they are and at any time. Odakyu on February 28 started selling OWAKUDANI 2-Day Pass and the ASHINOKO 2-Day Pass on EMot Online Tickets, in addition to popular digital discount tickets, including Hakone Freepass and Enoshima-Kamakura Freepass.

- Restrictions on Entry into Owakudani Area Lifted -

The Odakyu Group, led by Odakyu Electric Railway Co., Ltd., fully resumed services on the Hakone Ropeway on Saturday, October 26, following a review of restrictions on entry into the Owakudani area after the level of alert against volcanic eruptions was lowered around the area.

Ropeway services had been partially suspended since entry into the area was restricted because the volcanic alert level in the area was raised.

The restrictions on entry into the Owakudani area were subsequently lifted, allowing visitors to stroll outside Owakudani Station from Friday, November 15.

The Odakyu Group hopes that visitors will enjoy observing dynamic volcanic activity and the magnificent view of Mount Fuji (entry into some areas of Hakone remains restricted).
