KYOTO, Japan, June 10, 2026 /Kyodo JBN/ --
ROHM Co., Ltd.
ROHM Launches New Top-side Cooling Package for SiC MOSFETs, Combining High Heat Dissipation with High Voltage Support

ROHM Co., Ltd. has developed the TSC3PAK (14.00 x 18.58 x 3.50 mm) package for SiC MOSFETs. By adopting a top-side heat dissipation structure that places the heat dissipation surface on the top of the package, the new product enables automated mounting while achieving heat dissipation performance comparable to that of conventional through-hole packages (TO-247-4L). This contributes to greater efficiency and reliability in power conversion circuits for onboard chargers (OBCs) and electric compressors used in xEVs (electric vehicles).

Product Lineup TSC3PAK package page: https://www.rohm.com/products/sic-power-devices/sic-mosfet?page=1&PS_PackageShortCode=TSC3PAK#parametricSearch

Figures: Product features
https://cdn.kyodonewsprwire.jp/prwfile/release/M106254/202606030283/_prw_PI1fl_Mf865kEu.jpg

In xEVs, the adoption of SiC devices is expanding beyond main inverters to include power conversion circuits such as OBCs and electric compressors to improve charging speed and extend cruising range.

Through-hole type devices involve manual mounting processes, and their form factor makes it difficult to achieve a lower package profile. Surface-mount SiC devices compatible with automated mounting have begun gaining adoption. To address these issues, the new TSC3PAK delivers heat dissipation performance comparable to through-hole technology such as TO-247 in a surface-mount package.

The new package incorporates ROHM’s proprietary groove structure to secure a long creepage distance of 6.66 mm, allowing it to accommodate an AC peak voltage of 1200 V in a Pollution Degree 2 environment while maintaining compatibility with products widely adopted in the market.

Products using the new package incorporate ROHM’s 4th Generation SiC MOSFETs, achieving low ON resistance and high-speed switching characteristics. As a result, switching losses during power conversion are significantly reduced, contributing to greater application efficiency and lower power consumption.

Mass production started in June 2026. For more details, please visit the contact page on ROHM’s website.
ATSUGI, Japan, June 9, 2026 /Kyodo JBN/ --
Semiconductor Energy Laboratory Co., Ltd.
SEL Develops High-energy-density Lithium-ion Rechargeable Battery Having Fire Resistance, Using Novel Cathode Material LCNO (TM) (Ni-doped LCO)

Semiconductor Energy Laboratory Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "SEL"), headquartered in Atsugi, Kanagawa Prefecture, has conducted a safety demonstration test using a nail penetration test for lithium-ion rechargeable batteries for consumer applications (hereinafter referred to as "the demonstration"). The demonstration utilized a newly developed cathode active material (*1), Ni-doped lithium cobalt oxide (hereinafter referred to as "LCNO (TM)"), developed by SEL. As a result, the company has in place a lithium-ion rechargeable battery that achieves both fire resistance and high energy density (*2).

1. High-energy-density Lithium-ion Rechargeable Battery Having Fire Resistance

The LCNO (TM) battery, the lithium-ion rechargeable battery newly developed by SEL, has successfully improved its fire resistance without compromising the high energy density characteristic of lithium cobalt oxide (LCO (*3)) batteries.

In a nail penetration test, one of the standard safety tests, SEL's prototype LCNO (TM) battery was confirmed not to ignite. There was no temperature rise on the cell surface, indicating that thermal runaway (*4) did not occur.

Image1: https://cdn.kyodonewsprwire.jp/prwfile/release/M104105/202606030266/_prw_PI1fl_W2rwHY3K.png

Furthermore, LCNO (TM) has improved discharge energy density per weight of cathode material compared with commercial LCO, enabling high-energy-density lithium-ion rechargeable batteries having fire resistance. The structural stability of LCNO (TM), a cathode active material developed by SEL, is crucial in achieving this performance.

Image2: https://cdn.kyodonewsprwire.jp/prwfile/release/M104105/202606030266/_prw_PI2fl_slx7gJzp.png

Image3: https://cdn.kyodonewsprwire.jp/prwfile/release/M104105/202606030266/_prw_PI3fl_0Auy3Dsm.png

2. Newly Developed Cathode Material LCNO (TM) (Ni-doped LCO)

LiCoO2 (LCO), a cathode active material, is known to deteriorate due to repeated charging and discharging. General LCO undergoes a phase transition to the H1-3 phase (*5) around 4.55 V (vs. Li+/Li) during charging (when Li is extracted from LCO). As a result, the CoO2 layers shift, making it impossible to return to its original state (O3 phase) during discharging. This contributes to deterioration in charge-discharge cycles.

SEL's newly developed LCNO (TM) involves not only doping Ni into LCO but also adding Mg. Consequently, Ni and Mg occupy Li sites in LCO with a layered rock-salt structure, thereby supporting the CoO2 layers (layered structure). It has been confirmed that this structure remains stable even in a charged state (when Li is extracted from LCNO). XRD measurements have shown that when subjected to high-voltage charging above 4.6 V (i.e., when a significant amount of Li is extracted), LCNO does not undergo transition to the H1-3 phase but instead changes to a different crystal structure (O3' phase) distinct from the O3 phase.

Thus, the LCNO (TM) battery has high structural stability, contributing to the suppression of deterioration during high-voltage charging and charge-discharge cycles.

SEL is confident that this development will contribute to the realization of a safe and secure society free from fire accidents.

(*1) Cathode material
A material used to form electrodes for storing electricity. Lithium-ion rechargeable batteries have a cathode and an anode, which are made by mixing active material particles with binders and conductive additives, then coating them onto metal foil.

(*2) Energy density
The amount of electrical energy that can be stored per unit volume or mass.

(*3) LCO
Lithium cobalt oxide, which is mainly used as the cathode material for batteries in devices that require small size, light weight, and high-capacity power, such as mobile devices.

(*4) Thermal runaway
A phenomenon where a battery overheats and becomes uncontrollable. Once this starts, the internal materials react, causing a chain reaction that further increases the temperature, ultimately resulting in ignition.

(*5) H1-3 phase
A type of structure that appears when the crystal structure changes during charging, which has a negative impact on charge-discharge cycles.
KYOTO, Japan, June 8, 2026 /Kyodo JBN/ --
ROHM Co., Ltd.
ROHM Co., Ltd. has announced that its 750V SiC MOSFET has been adopted in a BBU (Battery Backup Unit) for AI server power supplies. With the rise of generative AI, AI server power systems are shifting to higher voltages and rapidly transitioning to HVDC (High-Voltage Direct Current) architectures. In this environment, ROHM's device was selected as a SiC power device that supports next-generation power supply systems.

Figures: Product features
https://cdn.kyodonewsprwire.jp/prwfile/release/M106254/202606040358/_prw_PI1fl_KW489zte.jpg

As generative AI drives higher GPU performance and rising data center power consumption, the industry is moving toward HVDC architectures to reduce power transmission losses. In these high-power, high-voltage environments, BBUs and CUs (Capacitor Units) play an increasingly important role in protecting rack-level systems during power outages or momentary interruptions.

The adopted product is the "SCT4013DLL," a 750V SiC MOSFET that is installed in the power supply section of a +400V / -400V power architecture for AI servers. Leveraging the characteristics of SiC, this product offers high-temperature tolerance with a maximum junction temperature (Tj) of 175C, enabling stable operation even in BBUs where heat generation increases as voltages and power density rise.

SCT4013DLL: https://www.rohm.com/products/sic-power-devices/sic-mosfet/sct4013dll-product

In next-generation 800VDC power architectures, the supply voltage delivered to the battery pack inside the BBU is approximately 560V. For this reason, ROHM's 750V rated SiC MOSFETs can also be used in these systems.

Next-generation AI server power supplies require backup systems that can control high voltages and large currents instantly with minimal power loss. SiC power devices are expected to serve as key devices in these systems.

Looking ahead to continued growth in the AI server and data center markets, ROHM will further strengthen the development and supply of power devices using SiC, GaN, and silicon. ROHM will also contribute to higher power efficiency and the realization of a sustainable society by combining these power devices with analog ICs and other technologies.
Ultrasaurus, a massive dinosaur first released in 1986, remains an iconic presence within the ZOIDS brand. In the original ZOIDS anime (1999-2000), it drew attention for its anime-original Gravity Cannon. The AZ-17DX ULTRA SAURUS GRAVITY CANNON ver. is the first Ultrasaurus model to feature this weapon, faithfully recreating its appearance from the anime. An AZ-17 ULTRA SAURUS without weaponry will be released simultaneously through electronics retailers, hobby shops, model stores, online shops, and TOMY MALL.

Yoshio Kaiho, Head of Character & Collectibles Division, TOMY Company, Ltd., commented:
"Now in its third year, T-SPARK continues to refine our approach to model design with a playful spirit and has since expanded to 14 series. This fiscal year, we will focus on enhancing the appeal of each series and expanding the lineup.

"The Ultrasaurus has been beloved by ZOIDS fans since its debut in 1986. Now, 40 years later, it has been redesigned with modern technology and equipped with the Gravity Cannon. We will continue to deliver new discoveries and excitement through products with refined articulation and design.

"T-SPARK has also gained strong support from adult fans overseas, particularly in Asia and North America, and global expectations continue to grow. In addition to exhibiting at international hobby events, we plan to further strengthen communication with customers through pop-up events and the launch of our first standalone brand store in Hong Kong."
New Product Information: ZOIDS, TRANSFORMERS, and TOYRISE

- AZ-17DX ULTRA SAURUS GRAVITY CANNON ver.
When equipped with the Gravity Cannon, it reaches one of the largest sizes in the series, measuring 721 mm long, 379 mm high, and 392 mm wide, while still delivering dynamic movement.

Developer Comment:
"To meet the expectations of ZOIDS anime fans, we took on the challenge of creating an Ultrasaurus equipped with the Gravity Cannon. The entire sequence, from loading to firing*, is reproduced using gear-driven mechanisms, with a focus on stability and powerful motion. We hope you enjoy this ZOIDS, the largest ever in both size and features."

*The firing motion is realistically recreated but the shells are not actually fired.
"This OVERGEAR Optimus Prime transforms into a tank transporter. We focused on the mechanical silhouette created by its nine rear wheels, as well as the strong, rugged presence they give the robot mode."
Commemorating a Decade:
Hokusai and Hiroshige—Two Maestros, Two Visions of Mount Fuji

The Sumida Hokusai Museum (Sumida City, Tokyo) will hold the 10th anniversary exhibition,
"Hokusai and Hiroshige—Two Maestros, Two Visions of Mount Fuji"
from June 23, 2026 (TUE) to August 30, 2026 (SUN).

Bold compositions filled with dynamic depictions and fantastic ideas: Katsushika Hokusai has given the world unforgettable masterpieces. Utagawa Hiroshige, seeking with his gentle brushwork to create landscape paintings presenting realistic meisho-e (pictures of famous places), produced masterpieces that are also enduringly memorable. Hokusai made the landscape, including pictures of famous places, a major ukiyo-e genre. Hiroshige sustained its popularity for many years, enjoying widespread acclaim. Despite their 37-year age difference, these artists are often viewed as rivals. In this exhibition, which commemorates the first decade since our museum opened, we focus on presenting works from Mount Fuji series by both these maestros, whose work exemplifies meisho-e. Carefully comparing them, in terms, for example, of differences in expressive technique or sources of influences, we highlight each artist’s individuality. The exhibition includes Hokusai’s famous Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji series, being displayed in full during the 1st and 2nd term for the first time in four years, Hiroshige’s entire Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji series, and his second Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji series as well. Through them, you are invited to encounter the creative domains that Hokusai and Hiroshige sought.
PR Wire Overseas Distribution Version English Press Release — Final Copy
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
OHCHR Filing on Sony Jinja Case Amano Torifune Shrine Completed
[Kasama, Ibaraki, Japan] – May 21, 2026
Hitachi-no-Kuni Izumo Taisha hereby announces that it has submitted information concerning the Sony Jinja Case to the OHCHR Special Procedures, and also reports that Amano Torifune Shrine was successfully completed and consecrated on May 7, 2026 as the culmination of a separate religious continuity and reconstruction project.
The Sony Jinja Case refers to a series of issues concerning the former Sony Jinja, including matters related to a religious covenant, continuity of rites, the removal and dismantling of the shrine building, and the return of sacred objects. According to the shrine, these issues raise concerns relating to freedom of religion or belief and the continuity of religious practice.
Hitachi-no-Kuni Izumo Taisha has organized the relevant facts, chronology, and correspondence concerning the matter and submitted information to the OHCHR Special Procedures for consideration. At the same time, the shrine emphasizes that Amano Torifune Shrine is a separate matter and should not be confused with the Sony Jinja Case itself. Rather, Amano Torifune Shrine represents the outcome of a separate effort undertaken to preserve religious continuity after the disruption of the original religious framework.
As part of its efforts to clarify the matter, Hitachi-no-Kuni Izumo Taisha also sent a written inquiry to Sony Group Corporation, requesting a written response by 5:00 p.m. on May 18, 2026. According to the shrine, no written response had been received by that deadline.
Hitachi-no-Kuni Izumo Taisha further reports that Amano Torifune Shrine was successfully completed on May 7, 2026, and that a consecration ceremony was duly held on that day. The shrine regards this completion not as the resolution of the Sony Jinja Case itself, but as an important milestone demonstrating that the religious continuity project was brought to a successful conclusion.
For the avoidance of doubt, the shrine states that its submission to the OHCHR Special Procedures is an information submission under the Special Procedures communications system and does not mean that the United Nations or OHCHR has made a legal determination or finding of illegality in this case. OHCHR explains that communications are letters sent by Special Procedures experts to governments and other entities, and that the procedure is not quasi-judicial and does not give the experts power to enforce their views or recommendations.
Through this announcement, Hitachi-no-Kuni Izumo Taisha seeks to clarify the facts surrounding the Sony Jinja Case, explain the status of its submission to the OHCHR Special Procedures, and report that the separate continuity and reconstruction project reached a tangible result with the completion of Amano Torifune Shrine.
Notes
“Sony Jinja Case” refers to the case concerning the former Sony Jinja and related issues including a religious covenant, continuity of rites, dismantling of the shrine structure, and the return of sacred objects.
Amano Torifune Shrine is a separate matter and is presented in this release as the outcome of a distinct religious continuity and reconstruction project.
The submission to the OHCHR Special Procedures is not presented as a legal ruling, a judicial finding, or a determination of illegality by the United Nations or OHCHR.
KYOTO, Japan, May 19, 2026 /Kyodo JBN/ --
ROHM Co., Ltd.
ROHM's Scalable Power Supply Solutions for Automotive SoCs; Combining PMIC and DrMOS for Optimal SoC Power Design and Future Performance

ROHM Co., Ltd. has developed a configurable power supply solution that combines the PMIC BD968xx-C Series with the DrMOS BD96340MFF-C, targeting automotive SoCs (Systems on a Chip) used in applications such as ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), DMS (Driver Monitoring Systems), and sensing cameras.

Figures: Product features
https://kyodonewsprwire.jp/attach/202605128856-O1-36TAVo1m.pdf

In recent years, increasing performance demands for automotive SoCs, due to the evolution of ADAS, enhanced in-vehicle camera functionality, and ECU (Electronic Control Unit) integration, have accelerated the shift toward domain architectures centered around domain controllers. As a result, power supply designs now require the ability to support low-voltage, high-current operation, along with advanced power sequencing control and high reliability.

Conventional power supply architectures often require significant customization to accommodate differences among SoC manufacturers and generations, frequently leading to redesigns during model rollouts. This increased both development time and verification workload. To address these challenges, ROHM has developed this solution based on a "Configurable" design concept enabling flexible adaptation to a wide range of SoC power requirements.

This solution enables scalable power supply designs that support a wide range of SoCs, from low-end to high-end, by flexibly configuring combinations of main configurable PMICs, sub PMICs, and DrMOS devices according to application and performance requirements. This scalable approach reduces development effort during platform expansion while enhancing power efficiency and design reuse.

All PMICs are designed for a 2.7 V to 5.5 V input voltage range. BD96803Qxx-C and BD96811Fxx-C are optimized for standalone operation with low-end SoCs. BD96805Qxx-C and BD96806Qxx-C, when combined with the DrMOS BD96340MFF-C, can support low-voltage, high-current demands required by high-performance SoCs.

The PMICs are housed in wettable flank QFN packages while the DrMOS is in a flip-chip QFN package. All devices are AEC-Q100 qualified, ensuring high reliability for in-vehicle applications.
When the shutter opens, LED bulbs light up gently. The LED lighting can be changed by pressing the center button on the remote controller between six colors that create different looks and images (white, orange, purple, blue, emerald green and yellow), allowing users to choose the colors that match the lighting to the scenes and specific TOMICA models.

Six-color lighting effects: https://cdn.kyodonewsprwire.jp/prwfile/release/M000076/202604278228/_prw_PI5fl_84kJSk4F.jpg

- Higher-quality interior design:
Two sets of interior sheets are attached to the product. Designed to create a three-dimensional effect and shiny finish, the sheets enhance the lighting effects.

Interior sheets: https://cdn.kyodonewsprwire.jp/prwfile/release/M000076/202604278228/_prw_PI6fl_A3q7A5U0.jpg

- Simultaneous controlling of multiple garage shutters in a dynamic way:
To respond to requests for arranging multiple garages, the product achieved a function of simultaneously opening and closing multiple garage shutters with a single remote controller.

For nearly 50 years, Atelier Seiran has been based in Tokushima, one of Japan’s leading indigo-producing regions, cultivating a distinctive artistic practice centered on Awa Ai (Awa indigo). Founded in 1970 by artist Yoko Hashimoto, the Atelier emerged at a time when synthetic dyes threatened traditional crafts. Through the development of a unique wax-resist technique, Atelier Seiran has redefined indigo dyeing as a contemporary artistic language that transcends the boundaries of craft.

The exhibition at Palazzo Dona dalle Rose explores the creative potential of cultural and historical "fissures." In response, Atelier Seiran’s "The Root of Life" engages with this concept, evoking a primordial realm where nature, time, and life converge through the deep blues of Awa Ai.

A highlight of the presentation is a joint exhibition with Cameroonian artist Serge Mouangue. This collaboration explores shared expressions of life and vitality across cultures, bringing Cameroonian symbolic traditions into dialogue with the cyclical and nature-based philosophy embodied in Awa Ai.

Participating artists include Yoko Hashimoto, Hatsuko Ukigawa, and Kiyoko Hashimoto. Their works, exhibited internationally at venues such as Le Salon in Paris, bridge tradition and innovation across art and technology.
KYOTO, Japan, Apr. 28, 2026 /Kyodo JBN/ --
ROHM Co., Ltd.
ROHM Co., Ltd. has developed a wireless power supply IC chipset consisting of the receiver (ML7670) and transmitter (ML7671) compatible with Near Field Communication (NFC) technology for compact wearables such as smart rings and smart bands.

ML767x chip set: https://www.rohm.com/products/power-management/wireless-power?page=1&SearchWord=ml767#parametricSearch

Figures: Product features
https://cdn.kyodonewsprwire.jp/prwfile/release/M106254/202604217802/_prw_PI1fl_5G9aZOC5.jpg

The smart ring market has seen rapid growth in recent years. However, for extremely small ring-shaped devices worn on the finger, wired charging is impractical, while the conventional Qi wireless charging standard is difficult to implement due to constraints such as coil size.

In response, NFC-based charging, which operates at the high-frequency 13.56MHz band that enables antenna miniaturization, is attracting increased attention, with adoption accelerating in next-generation wearables.

This new chipset builds on the proven receiver (ML7660) and transmitter (ML7661). The maximum power transfer is specified at 250mW, while peripheral components such as the switching MOSFETs required to supply power to the charging IC are built in. The result is a solution optimized for both mounting area and power transfer efficiency in the power class demanded by compact wearable devices.

Figures: Comparison of power receiver IC features and application examples
https://cdn.kyodonewsprwire.jp/prwfile/release/M106254/202604217802/_prw_PI2fl_t3V77HE4.jpg

The ML7670 power receiver IC achieves a maximum power transfer efficiency of 45% in the 250mW low output range -- all in an industry-leading form factor of just 2.28 x 2.56 x 0.48mm. What's more, all firmware required for wireless power delivery is embedded directly within the IC, eliminating the need for a host MCU.

Compliance with NFC Forum (WLC 2.0) enables power transfer while maintaining compatibility with existing devices, positioning the chipset as a core element in the expanding NFC wireless power ecosystem.

Figures: Lineup table https://cdn.kyodonewsprwire.jp/prwfile/release/M106254/202604217802/_prw_PI3fl_3aWk93R6.jpg

The new chipset is already in mass production. Furthermore, it has been adopted in SOXAI RING 2, the latest model launched on December 10, 2025, by SOXAI Inc., the Japanese developer and distributor of the original sleep-monitoring ring SOXAI RING.
*The name "SOXAI" is pronounced "SOK-sai."

SOXAI RING 2 Adoption Example: https://www.rohm.com/collaboration/soxai_ring-2

Application Examples
- Smart rings
- Smart bands
- Smart pens
- Wireless earphones
- Other compact devices (i.e., wearables)
OSAKA, JAPAN – In a strategic partnership with OCC Educational Corporation Limited, Gordonstoun Japan is proud to announce the appointment of Natasha Dangerfield—British educational leader and England Lacrosse President—as its Founding Principal. This announcement marks a significant milestone as the school prepares to open its doors in Wakayama in September 2027.

A Leader Who Lives the Ethos

Natasha Dangerfield is a distinguished British educator with over 20 years of senior leadership experience in prestigious independent boarding schools. Her appointment is uniquely significant: Natasha does not just understand the Gordonstoun philosophy; she has lived it.
Early in her career, Natasha held pivotal roles at the original Gordonstoun School in Scotland, serving as both a Housemistress and Director of Pastoral Care.
Authenticity, Not Interpretation

"This appointment ensures that Gordonstoun Japan is not merely an interpretation of a British brand, but a true continuation of its founding legacy," said Masakuni Negishi, Chairman of the Board, Gordonstoun Japan. "Natasha embodies the Gordonstoun spirit. She is a leader who understands that education is about unlocking the potential within every child."

A Message from the Founding Principal

"It is a profound honor to be appointed as the Founding Principal of Gordonstoun Japan," said Natasha Dangerfield. "Gordonstoun is a place where young people, and staff, discover their 'plus est en vous' (there is more in you); the valued motto held carefully in the tradition of the school. I am thrilled to bring this transformative educational model to Japan and to build a community where students are prepared not just for university, but for life."

About Gordonstoun School

Founded in Scotland in 1934, Gordonstoun is one of the world’s most prestigious independent schools. Following the motto "Plus est en vous" (There is more in you), the school is a global pioneer in "Character Education," built on pillars of academics, outdoor adventure, and service.
Gordonstoun is the alma mater of HM King Charles III and the late HRH Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. HM King Charles III currently serves as the Patron of the Gordonstoun Association. The school's innovative educational model served as the foundation for "Round Square," a global network of international schools. The 2027 opening of the Japan campus marks the first time this storied educational philosophy will be accessible directly in Asia.

KYOTO, Japan, Apr. 15, 2026 /Kyodo JBN/ --
Nuvoton Technology Corporation Japan
Nuvoton Releases Industry-leading-class High-power Violet Laser Diode (402 nm, 4.5 W) -- 1.5 times Higher Output Than Its Conventional Product

Nuvoton Technology Corporation Japan (hereinafter "NTCJ") announced on April 15 that it will start mass production of a "high-power violet laser diode (402 nm, 4.5 W)" that achieves industry-leading-class (*1) optical output in a 9.0 mm diameter CAN package (TO-9) in May. This product achieves 1.5 times the optical output compared to NTCJ's conventional product (*2) through its proprietary device structure and heat dissipation design technology, and contributes to improving production throughput in optical equipment such as maskless lithography systems. Furthermore, adding this product to NTCJ's lineup enables its product portfolio to support major photosensitive materials used in advanced semiconductor packaging.

(*1) As of April 15, 2026, based on NTCJ's research of laser diodes emitting at 402 nm in a TO-9 CAN package under continuous-wave (CW) operation at a case temperature (Tc) of 25C.
(*2) NTCJ's conventional product KLC432FL01WW (402 nm, 3.0 W, TO-9 CAN package)

Image2: https://cdn.kyodonewsprwire.jp/prwfile/release/M108245/202604087113/_prw_PI2fl_5u4N7B22.jpg

Violet 402 nm laser diodes generally face relatively low wall-plug efficiency (WPE), self-heating, and short wavelength-induced degradation, limiting stable high-power operation. To address these challenges, the "device structure that enhances WPE" and the "high thermal conduction package technology that effectively dissipates heat," used in the high-power ultraviolet laser diode announced in January 2026, were expanded to the violet band. As a result, NTCJ is launching a high-power violet laser diode achieving 1.5 times the optical output of NTCJ's conventional product, with improved lifetime at high-power operation and enhanced heat dissipation, contributing to higher production throughput in industrial optical equipment.

Figure1: https://cdn.kyodonewsprwire.jp/prwfile/release/M108245/202604087113/_prw_PI3fl_HKi1hBb1.png

This product delivers significant value in maskless lithography for advanced semiconductor packaging, a rapidly growing market driven by AI demand. Maskless lithography directly exposes wiring patterns from design data, reducing cost and development time while enabling high-precision correction of substrate warpage and distortion. Laser diodes are increasingly required to support wavelengths close to the mercury lamp i-line 365 nm and h-line 405 nm, and higher optical output to improve throughput. Following the 379 nm, 1.0 W high-power ultraviolet laser diode for i-line applications announced in January 2026, NTCJ is adding a 402 nm, 4.5 W high-power violet laser diode for h-line applications, strengthening its maskless lithography light source lineup to support multiple major photosensitive materials and higher throughput.

Table1: https://cdn.kyodonewsprwire.jp/prwfile/release/M108245/202604087113/_prw_PI4fl_k57YN02p.png

In addition, this product expands NTCJ's "semiconductor laser-based alternatives to mercury lamps," providing a new h-line light source option for photocuring, 3D printing, sensing, biomedical, and marking. This contributes to improving process efficiency and enabling new optical applications.

This product is scheduled to be exhibited at NTCJ's booth at "OPIE '26" to be held in Yokohama, Japan, on April 22-24, 2026.
Under the new structure, J-Tour will work in close collaboration with the Nippon Sangyo Suishin Kiko Group (NSSK), leveraging NSSK's expertise in investment and management support to enhance the overall value and sustainability of the Japan men’s professional golf tours. The new framework will officially commence from April 2026.

The tours will be jointly managed, with JGTO and J-Tour fulfilling clearly defined roles as follows:
- JGTO: Player and competition management
- J-Tour: Tour operations, planning, business development, and commercialization

This division is designed to enhance operational efficiency and agility, allowing JGTO to focus on the competitive and regulatory aspects of the sport, while J-Tour drives business growth and innovation.

Japan’s men’s professional tours are built on a rich history and a strong base of player talent. To fully unlock this potential in today’s evolving market environment, J-Tour will leverage a corporate structure that drives more agile investment and marketing initiatives. In partnership with NSSK, the organization will accelerate content development and strategic marketing efforts, with the aim of building a more sustainable business model that supports both the integrity of competition and long-term commercial growth.

At the core of J-Tour’s strategy is the maximization of fan engagement, both on-site and through broadcast and digital channels. J-Tour will pursue an integrated action plan built around three key pillars:
- Strengthening fan and sponsor engagement through enhanced on-site experiences, hospitality offerings, and expanded viewing opportunities across multiple channels.
- Scaling media content production and data utilization, including the development of a centralized media platform to distribute a wide range of content, including short-form digital clips and long-form content, across YouTube and social media.
- Supporting players and their teams through improved welfare programs, covering aspects of tour participation costs, and providing career development support, thereby enabling players to focus on performance.

Yutaka Morohoshi, Chairman of JGTO, said: "This new structure represents a critical strategic step toward the continued growth of men’s professional golf in Japan. By partnering with J-Tour as a strong business platform, we are establishing a framework that allows us to focus on enhancing the quality of competition and player development. In order to maximize the social value of golf, we will continue to strengthen collaboration with public and private stakeholders, as well as the broader business community."

Jun Tsusaka, CEO of NSSK, said: "We believe that Japan’s men’s professional golf has the potential to compete on the global stage. As investment and management professionals, NSSK is committed to actively supporting J-Tour through robust governance and strategic involvement. We will work to build a tour structure that earns the trust of all stakeholders while creating a sustainable economic ecosystem."
