For nearly 50 years, Atelier Seiran has been based in Tokushima, one of Japan’s leading indigo-producing regions, cultivating a distinctive artistic practice centered on Awa Ai (Awa indigo). Founded in 1970 by artist Yoko Hashimoto, the Atelier emerged at a time when synthetic dyes threatened traditional crafts. Through the development of a unique wax-resist technique, Atelier Seiran has redefined indigo dyeing as a contemporary artistic language that transcends the boundaries of craft.

The exhibition at Palazzo Dona dalle Rose explores the creative potential of cultural and historical "fissures." In response, Atelier Seiran’s "The Root of Life" engages with this concept, evoking a primordial realm where nature, time, and life converge through the deep blues of Awa Ai.

A highlight of the presentation is a joint exhibition with Cameroonian artist Serge Mouangue. This collaboration explores shared expressions of life and vitality across cultures, bringing Cameroonian symbolic traditions into dialogue with the cyclical and nature-based philosophy embodied in Awa Ai.

Participating artists include Yoko Hashimoto, Hatsuko Ukigawa, and Kiyoko Hashimoto. Their works, exhibited internationally at venues such as Le Salon in Paris, bridge tradition and innovation across art and technology.
KYOTO, Japan, Apr. 28, 2026 /Kyodo JBN/ --
ROHM Co., Ltd.
ROHM Co., Ltd. has developed a wireless power supply IC chipset consisting of the receiver (ML7670) and transmitter (ML7671) compatible with Near Field Communication (NFC) technology for compact wearables such as smart rings and smart bands.

ML767x chip set: https://www.rohm.com/products/power-management/wireless-power?page=1&SearchWord=ml767#parametricSearch

Figures: Product features
https://cdn.kyodonewsprwire.jp/prwfile/release/M106254/202604217802/_prw_PI1fl_5G9aZOC5.jpg

The smart ring market has seen rapid growth in recent years. However, for extremely small ring-shaped devices worn on the finger, wired charging is impractical, while the conventional Qi wireless charging standard is difficult to implement due to constraints such as coil size.

In response, NFC-based charging, which operates at the high-frequency 13.56MHz band that enables antenna miniaturization, is attracting increased attention, with adoption accelerating in next-generation wearables.

This new chipset builds on the proven receiver (ML7660) and transmitter (ML7661). The maximum power transfer is specified at 250mW, while peripheral components such as the switching MOSFETs required to supply power to the charging IC are built in. The result is a solution optimized for both mounting area and power transfer efficiency in the power class demanded by compact wearable devices.

Figures: Comparison of power receiver IC features and application examples
https://cdn.kyodonewsprwire.jp/prwfile/release/M106254/202604217802/_prw_PI2fl_t3V77HE4.jpg

The ML7670 power receiver IC achieves a maximum power transfer efficiency of 45% in the 250mW low output range -- all in an industry-leading form factor of just 2.28 x 2.56 x 0.48mm. What's more, all firmware required for wireless power delivery is embedded directly within the IC, eliminating the need for a host MCU.

Compliance with NFC Forum (WLC 2.0) enables power transfer while maintaining compatibility with existing devices, positioning the chipset as a core element in the expanding NFC wireless power ecosystem.

Figures: Lineup table https://cdn.kyodonewsprwire.jp/prwfile/release/M106254/202604217802/_prw_PI3fl_3aWk93R6.jpg

The new chipset is already in mass production. Furthermore, it has been adopted in SOXAI RING 2, the latest model launched on December 10, 2025, by SOXAI Inc., the Japanese developer and distributor of the original sleep-monitoring ring SOXAI RING.
*The name "SOXAI" is pronounced "SOK-sai."

SOXAI RING 2 Adoption Example: https://www.rohm.com/collaboration/soxai_ring-2

TOKYO, Apr. 20, 2026 /Kyodo JBN/ --
Mitate Zepto Technica, Inc.
- MZT to Lead Product Commercialization through Its Genome-analysis Accelerator "RASEN" -

Mitate Zepto Technica, Inc. (hereinafter "MZT"), based in Tokyo's Shibuya district, announced on April 20 that it has joined the national research initiative "Next-Generation Edge AI Semiconductor Research and Development Program" promoted by the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST). MZT participates as a designated social implementation and commercialization partner for the research theme "Accelerating Edge Intelligence for AI for Science" (Principal Investigator: Makoto Taiji, Program Director, TRIP Headquarters, RIKEN).

Logo: https://kyodonewsprwire.jp/img/202604167540-O1-5Sz6I68Q

This research theme aims to achieve advanced computational infrastructure through the integration of AI technology and next-generation edge semiconductors, with genome analysis as one of its key application domains. MZT participates as an organization responsible for the productization and social implementation of research outcomes through its proprietary genome-analysis accelerator "RASEN."

Background
Since its founding in 2020, MZT has pursued a distinctive approach to genome analysis: purpose-built ASIC acceleration. Following technology validation through joint research with Tohoku University and other partners, MZT now participates as an R&D institution responsible for social implementation under this research theme.

MZT's Role in the Program
Within this research theme, MZT will integrate AI research outcomes from RIKEN and Tohoku University into the RASEN architecture, and lead the R&D work toward social implementation through ASIC development and productization. As the industrial partner bridging research and real-world deployment, the company targets social implementation by 2029.

Program Overview
Research theme: Accelerating edge intelligence for AI for science
Promoting agency: Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST)
Principal investigator: Makoto Taiji, Program Director, TRIP Headquarters, RIKEN
Participating institutions: RIKEN, Tohoku University, Keio University, Mitate Zepto Technica
MZT's participation start: April 2026 (FY2026)
JST program period: FY2025 onwards

Comment from Keisuke Harashima, President & CEO, Mitate Zepto Technica:
"It is a tremendous honor that we can lead the social implementation of this research theme through the acceleration of genome analysis via dedicated semiconductors -- a challenge we have pursued since MZT's founding. RASEN is at exactly the right inflection point, transitioning from research to real-world deployment. We will use this participation to accelerate commercialization across healthcare, drug discovery, and research infrastructure."

About RASEN
RASEN is MZT's proprietary genome-analysis accelerator under development, built on a purpose-designed ASIC architecture. In internal validation, RASEN has demonstrated the ability to complete whole-genome sequencing (WGS) analysis in approximately 5 minutes on a standard workstation -- without the need for supercomputers or high-performance computing infrastructure. In independent validation studies conducted with Tohoku University, RASEN achieved 99.8% concordance with conventional analysis methods across 12 samples, confirming that its speed advantage does not come at the cost of accuracy.

OSAKA, JAPAN – In a strategic partnership with OCC Educational Corporation Limited, Gordonstoun Japan is proud to announce the appointment of Natasha Dangerfield—British educational leader and England Lacrosse President—as its Founding Principal. This announcement marks a significant milestone as the school prepares to open its doors in Wakayama in September 2027.

A Leader Who Lives the Ethos

Natasha Dangerfield is a distinguished British educator with over 20 years of senior leadership experience in prestigious independent boarding schools. Her appointment is uniquely significant: Natasha does not just understand the Gordonstoun philosophy; she has lived it.
Early in her career, Natasha held pivotal roles at the original Gordonstoun School in Scotland, serving as both a Housemistress and Director of Pastoral Care. This direct experience ensures that the founding principles of Gordonstoun—character through challenge, responsibility, and service—will be woven into the very fabric of the Japan campus from day one.

Proven Excellence in School Leadership

Most recently, Natasha served for 13 years as the Headmistress of Westonbirt School (UK). Under her visionary leadership, the school saw significant educational development, the successful transition to co-education, and the strengthening of a world-class pastoral care system. Her tenure was defined by a commitment to holistic student wellbeing and strategic institutional growth.

Her leadership pillars include:

- Character Education: Fostering resilience through real-world challenges.
- Pastoral Excellence: Prioritizing student mental health and emotional growth.
- Experiential Learning: Utilizing the "classroom under the stars" to build life skills.
- Purpose-Driven Community: Cultivating a values-led environment where students thrive.

Authenticity, Not Interpretation

"This appointment ensures that Gordonstoun Japan is not merely an interpretation of a British brand, but a true continuation of its founding legacy," said Masakuni Negishi, Chairman of the Board, Gordonstoun Japan. "Natasha embodies the Gordonstoun spirit. She is a leader who understands that education is about unlocking the potential within every child."

A Message from the Founding Principal

"It is a profound honor to be appointed as the Founding Principal of Gordonstoun Japan," said Natasha Dangerfield. "Gordonstoun is a place where young people, and staff, discover their 'plus est en vous' (there is more in you); the valued motto held carefully in the tradition of the school. I am thrilled to bring this transformative educational model to Japan and to build a community where students are prepared not just for university, but for life."

About Gordonstoun School

Founded in Scotland in 1934, Gordonstoun is one of the world’s most prestigious independent schools. Following the motto "Plus est en vous" (There is more in you), the school is a global pioneer in "Character Education," built on pillars of academics, outdoor adventure, and service.
Gordonstoun is the alma mater of HM King Charles III and the late HRH Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. HM King Charles III currently serves as the Patron of the Gordonstoun Association. The school's innovative educational model served as the foundation for "Round Square," a global network of international schools. The 2027 opening of the Japan campus marks the first time this storied educational philosophy will be accessible directly in Asia.

KYOTO, Japan, Apr. 15, 2026 /Kyodo JBN/ --
Nuvoton Technology Corporation Japan
Nuvoton Releases Industry-leading-class High-power Violet Laser Diode (402 nm, 4.5 W) -- 1.5 times Higher Output Than Its Conventional Product

Nuvoton Technology Corporation Japan (hereinafter "NTCJ") announced on April 15 that it will start mass production of a "high-power violet laser diode (402 nm, 4.5 W)" that achieves industry-leading-class (*1) optical output in a 9.0 mm diameter CAN package (TO-9) in May. This product achieves 1.5 times the optical output compared to NTCJ's conventional product (*2) through its proprietary device structure and heat dissipation design technology, and contributes to improving production throughput in optical equipment such as maskless lithography systems. Furthermore, adding this product to NTCJ's lineup enables its product portfolio to support major photosensitive materials used in advanced semiconductor packaging.

(*1) As of April 15, 2026, based on NTCJ's research of laser diodes emitting at 402 nm in a TO-9 CAN package under continuous-wave (CW) operation at a case temperature (Tc) of 25C.
(*2) NTCJ's conventional product KLC432FL01WW (402 nm, 3.0 W, TO-9 CAN package)

Image2: https://cdn.kyodonewsprwire.jp/prwfile/release/M108245/202604087113/_prw_PI2fl_5u4N7B22.jpg

Violet 402 nm laser diodes generally face relatively low wall-plug efficiency (WPE), self-heating, and short wavelength-induced degradation, limiting stable high-power operation. To address these challenges, the "device structure that enhances WPE" and the "high thermal conduction package technology that effectively dissipates heat," used in the high-power ultraviolet laser diode announced in January 2026, were expanded to the violet band. As a result, NTCJ is launching a high-power violet laser diode achieving 1.5 times the optical output of NTCJ's conventional product, with improved lifetime at high-power operation and enhanced heat dissipation, contributing to higher production throughput in industrial optical equipment.

Figure1: https://cdn.kyodonewsprwire.jp/prwfile/release/M108245/202604087113/_prw_PI3fl_HKi1hBb1.png

This product delivers significant value in maskless lithography for advanced semiconductor packaging, a rapidly growing market driven by AI demand. Maskless lithography directly exposes wiring patterns from design data, reducing cost and development time while enabling high-precision correction of substrate warpage and distortion. Laser diodes are increasingly required to support wavelengths close to the mercury lamp i-line 365 nm and h-line 405 nm, and higher optical output to improve throughput. Following the 379 nm, 1.0 W high-power ultraviolet laser diode for i-line applications announced in January 2026, NTCJ is adding a 402 nm, 4.5 W high-power violet laser diode for h-line applications, strengthening its maskless lithography light source lineup to support multiple major photosensitive materials and higher throughput.

Table1: https://cdn.kyodonewsprwire.jp/prwfile/release/M108245/202604087113/_prw_PI4fl_k57YN02p.png

In addition, this product expands NTCJ's "semiconductor laser-based alternatives to mercury lamps," providing a new h-line light source option for photocuring, 3D printing, sensing, biomedical, and marking. This contributes to improving process efficiency and enabling new optical applications.

This product is scheduled to be exhibited at NTCJ's booth at "OPIE '26" to be held in Yokohama, Japan, on April 22-24, 2026.
TOKYO, Apr. 8, 2026 /Kyodo JBN/ --
Japan Golf Tour Organization, Japan Professional Golf Tour Co., Ltd.
The Japan Golf Tour Organization (JGTO) has announced the establishment of Japan Professional Golf Tour Co., Ltd. (J-Tour), a new entity responsible for tour operations and business development, effective March 17, 2026.

Image: https://cdn.kyodonewsprwire.jp/prwfile/release/M109063/202604026872/_prw_PI2fl_13583l04.png

Under the new structure, J-Tour will work in close collaboration with the Nippon Sangyo Suishin Kiko Group (NSSK), leveraging NSSK's expertise in investment and management support to enhance the overall value and sustainability of the Japan men’s professional golf tours. The new framework will officially commence from April 2026.

The tours will be jointly managed, with JGTO and J-Tour fulfilling clearly defined roles as follows:
- JGTO: Player and competition management
- J-Tour: Tour operations, planning, business development, and commercialization

This division is designed to enhance operational efficiency and agility, allowing JGTO to focus on the competitive and regulatory aspects of the sport, while J-Tour drives business growth and innovation.

Japan’s men’s professional tours are built on a rich history and a strong base of player talent. To fully unlock this potential in today’s evolving market environment, J-Tour will leverage a corporate structure that drives more agile investment and marketing initiatives. In partnership with NSSK, the organization will accelerate content development and strategic marketing efforts, with the aim of building a more sustainable business model that supports both the integrity of competition and long-term commercial growth.
ISHIHARA SANGYO KAISHA, LTD.
ISHIHARA SANGYO KAISHA Refreshes Corporate Brand Identity and Unveils New Corporate Slogan: "Local Insight, Global Impact" -- Grounded in Community, Committed to Creating Value

ISHIHARA SANGYO KAISHA, LTD. (hereinafter "ISK" or "the Company"), headquartered in Osaka, Japan, announced on April 1 the refresh of its corporate brand identity and the launch of its new corporate slogan, "Local Insight, Global Impact." This initiative is a key milestone in the Company’s transformation toward achieving its medium- to long-term vision, Vision 2030. Going forward, all ISK Group companies will roll out the new brand to accelerate the realization of the vision.

Logo: https://cdn.kyodonewsprwire.jp/prwfile/release/M109048/202603256285/_prw_PI1fl_67MH39pt.png

Philosophy behind Corporate Slogan
"Local Insight, Global Impact" reflects the ISK Group’s strengths and aspirations: Commitment to continuing to create value through the power of chemistry, moving from ideas to innovation to impact.

The Group’s business activities are deeply rooted in the communities and regions where it operates. This includes local engagement that addresses the specific needs of markets and regulatory environments across different countries, R&D that pushes the boundaries of chemistry, manufacturing that reliably delivers essential products to society, and facility operations conducted with a commitment to environmental preservation and safety. The ISK Group’s ability to create value stems from grassroots efforts across various regions and sites. This work supports social values like bettering living environments and stabilizing food supply.

The new corporate slogan captures how the Group brings together the knowledge and insights gained from these diverse, local ways of life and channels them as a unified force into value that benefits society at large. It is a succinct expression of the Group’s commitment to continually pushing forward in pursuit of a better future.
About Brand Symbol
As part of this brand refresh, the Company formally codified the long familiar ISK mark from its emblem as a brand symbol representing the values and identity of the entire Group.
ROHM Co., Ltd.
ROHM Co., Ltd. has added the new CMOS Operational Amplifier (op amp) series "TLRx728" and "BD728x" to its lineup. These are suitable for a wide range of applications including automotive, industrial, and consumer systems. A broad lineup also makes product selection easier.

Figures: Product features https://cdn.kyodonewsprwire.jp/prwfile/release/M106254/202603185852/_prw_PI1fl_12w7lWE6.jpg

In recent years, demand for high-accuracy op amps has been rapidly increasing as automotive and industrial systems become more sophisticated, demanding faster speed, better precision, and higher efficiency. In applications requiring amplification of sensor outputs, minimizing signal error and delay is essential. To meet these requirements, a well-balanced set of key characteristics is needed, including input offset voltage, noise, and slew rate.

These new products are high-performance op amps that offer a low input offset voltage, low noise, and high slew rate. TLRx728 features an input offset voltage of 150 microvolts (typ.), while BD728x offers 1.6 millivolts (typ.). Both series have a noise voltage density of 12 nanovolts per square root hertz at 1kHz and a slew rate of 10 volts per microsecond. They are therefore suitable for a wide range of precision applications, including sensor signal processing, current detection circuits, motor driver control, and power supply monitoring systems. Both series are designed to balance versatility and high performance rather than being limited to specific applications.

Rail-to-rail input/output capability allows maximum utilization of the power supply voltage range, ensuring a wide dynamic range. Furthermore, in addition to 1 channel, 2 channels, and 4 channels configurations, a diverse range of packages is available, enabling optimal product selection based on application and board size.

The new products are being released simultaneously except for certain part numbers (Sample Price: 1-channel: $2.0, 2-channels: $2.8, 4-channels: $4.0 per unit, excluding tax). For key product characteristics, please refer to the lineup table. They are also available for purchase online through online distributors such as DigiKey, Mouser and Farnell.
HIROSHIMA, Japan, Mar. 30, 2026 /Kyodo JBN/ --
Murakami Farm Co., Ltd.
Murakami Farm Developing License Business in Taiwan Region; Twofold Year-on-year Increase in "Broccoli Super Sprouts" Sales

-Overseas Development of Japan-grown Sprouts Rapidly Growing-

Murakami Farm Co., Ltd., announced on March 30 that the company's sales of "Broccoli Super Sprouts," produced by Taiwanese company "Greenvines" under license, recorded a twofold year-on-year increase in FY2025, demonstrating that its first overseas license business is rapidly gaining speed.

Boasting the top market share of sprouts in Japan, Murakami Farm entered into a license agreement for the production and sales of sprout products with Greenvines in the Taiwan region in 2021, with shipments starting in 2022.

Image1: https://cdn.kyodonewsprwire.jp/prwfile/release/M109018/202603165698/_prw_PI1fl_4VgQLye7.jpeg

Image2: https://cdn.kyodonewsprwire.jp/prwfile/release/M109018/202603165698/_prw_PI5fl_05Tfqc93.png

Murakami Farm has systematized its know-how in the selection of material seeds, production/quality management, and marketing cultivated over many years in the field of sprout products and has been providing its latest techniques to Greenvines. Behind the growth of the sprout business in the Taiwan region are increasing health awareness and high confidence in the Japanese brand among local people.

In the Taiwan region, the ratio of people eating out has rapidly risen due to the increasing number of double-income households, and inadequate intake of fresh vegetables is seen as a problem. In addition, the population in the Taiwan region is aging as in Japan, and they seem to be becoming more and more health-conscious. Under these circumstances, Broccoli Super Sprouts, containing high concentrations of the beneficial compound "sulforaphane," is gaining increasing support mainly among highly health-conscious people. In addition, people’s sense of trust in the safety and production/quality management of the product as a licensed Japanese-branded product has supported its growing demand. As in Japan, the amount of sulforaphane contained in the product produced in the Taiwan region is also regularly measured at Murakami Farm’s Sulforaphane Laboratory to check whether the product contains an adequate amount. In this way, the company has realized a system for producing and shipping the products while also checking sulforaphane levels.

This project is one of the initiatives of Murakami Farm's overseas license business in developing its knowledge and know-how concerning Japan-grown sprouts. In the global market, there is also increasing interest in sprout products focusing on functionality. The company has a future-based policy of further strengthening its business foundation in the Taiwan region and developing overseas license businesses mainly in Asia. By providing the latest plant factory techniques that can produce products of reliable quality throughout the year independent of environmental changes such as climate conditions, it will enhance local people’s health and promote its business growth in the expanding global market.
Japan International Broadcasting Inc.
Japan International Broadcasting Inc. (JIB) and ODK Media, Inc., operator of Amasian TV, North America's ad-supported free streaming TV (FAST) service, announced on March 27 the launch of Channel Oishii, the first Japanese food and lifestyle channel on the platform. The channel offers a 24/7 lineup of programming -- including dramas, films, documentaries, and anime -- bringing viewers the flavors, places, and stories that make Japanese food culture so "oishii" (delicious).

"'Oishii' is what Japanese people say when something tastes truly delicious, but it also expresses a broader feeling of comfort, discovery, and shared enjoyment around food," said Hiroshi Maeda, JIB President and CEO. "Channel Oishii brings together compelling food storytelling from across Japan, allowing North American audiences to enjoy it at their convenience, free of charge."

Interest in Japanese cuisine continues to grow across North America. Japan welcomed a record number of international visitors in 2025, more than 42 million. Many were drawn by the country's culture and food experiences. Audiences are increasingly eager to explore the stories behind Japan's flavors.

Channel Oishii offers a diverse lineup of food-related content across multiple genres. Stories, characters, and places provide viewers with a window into the country's kitchens, cafes, and dining rooms. Highlights include "The Solitary Gourmet (Kodoku no Gurume)." This pioneering food drama follows traveling salesman Goro Inogashira as he discovers memorable meals, savoring the simple pleasure of eating alone. Also featured is Shibuyummy, a lively food series that explores the streets of Tokyo's Shibuya district, uncovering hidden delights, local favorites, and street food legends -- from casual "ramen" (noodle) shops to upscale sushi counters and cozy "yokocho" (alley) bars.

"Free streaming platforms are becoming an important gateway for audiences to discover global content," said Peter Park, Chief Strategy Officer at ODK Media. "By bringing Channel Oishii to Amasian TV, we're giving viewers an opportunity to explore Japanese food culture while reinforcing our broader mission of making international storytelling more accessible."

Channel Oishii is available free on Amasian TV in the United States and Canada on Channel 500. Viewers can watch the live stream and AVOD via smart TV, mobile devices, or on the web at https://amasian.tv/live/channel-oishii. For updates and highlights, follow Channel Oishii on Instagram @channeloishii and https://jibtv.com/en/channeloishii.
TOKYO, Mar. 25, 2026/Kyodo JBN/ --
Polyplastics Co., Ltd.
Polyplastics Co., Ltd.’s DURACON(R) POM resin has been selected for use in a unique crawler track transport system developed by Tokyo-based CuboRex Co., Ltd., a leading supplier of innovative mobility solutions. The unique transport system, which significantly improves work efficiency at factory and construction sites compared to conventional caster-equipped carts, includes a structural crawler covering made of DURACON(R) POM.

Image: https://cdn.kyodonewsprwire.jp/prwfile/release/M100475/202603185867/_prw_PI1fl_BN4tWSX9.png

DURACON(R) POM was selected for the crawler’s white components. It was chosen for its high load-bearing capacity, providing the strength to withstand heavy-duty material handling at manufacturing sites. POM also boasts excellent friction properties, delivering stable performance in both static and dynamic friction. It offers durability and reliability, and meets destruction criteria even in harsh field environments. DURACON(R) POM was adopted as an optimal solution following comparative testing with other resins such as PA.

CuboRex's trolley crawlers can be easily installed on existing trolleys. The increased contact area reduces the load per unit area (ground pressure), decreasing friction resistance and sinking. The force required for operation is significantly reduced, enabling smooth travel even over steps and uneven terrain. Under similar conditions, turning performance also improves. Maneuvers that were arduous with conventional casters become easier, substantially reducing operator strain. Coordination with tow trucks and automated guided vehicles (AGVs) also becomes smoother, preventing time loss due to stops or dropped cargo.

Demand for material handling is growing, with significant potential anticipated even within the Japanese market. The introduction of crawlers for carts eliminates the need to purchase new dedicated transport carts, enabling a dramatic improvement in operational efficiency while utilizing existing equipment. This solution, which simultaneously achieves cost reduction and enhanced safety, holds great potential in the global market as well. Applications across diverse industries, including logistics, manufacturing and construction, are anticipated in the future.

This case study demonstrates that material selection can transform on-site productivity, going beyond mere material supply. DURACON(R) POM served as a key material supporting CuboRex's innovative ideas, contributing to the efficiency of transport operations.
Scenes from the 9th High-Level Panel on ESG Finance held on Friday, March 6, 2026

１. About the 9th High-Level Panel on ESG Finance
The Ministry of the Environment of Japan established the High-Level Panel on ESG Finance, based on the recommendations of the High-Level Meeting on ESG Finance (July 2018), as a forum for leaders from the finance and investment sectors and the government to work together to discuss and take action to promote awareness and initiatives related to ESG finance. The Panel has also regularly monitored progress in initiatives aligned with these recommendations.
At this 9th session, discussions were held from multiple perspectives regarding developments following the Declaration on Financial Action for Building a Green Economy System, adopted at the 8th session, and on deepening ESG finance.

２. Session report
In his opening remarks, Minister of the Environment ISHIHARA Hirotaka emphasized that despite rapidly changing domestic and international trends surrounding environmental policy, Japan will steadily advance its efforts toward achieving net zero emissions by 2050. He further highlighted that coexistence with local communities is a fundamental prerequisite for maximizing renewable energy deployment and that the national government will refrain from procuring renewable energy from power generation companies that violate laws and regulations, while also expecting financial institutions to exercise prudent judgment, including strict compliance oversight, as part of their social responsibility. Furthermore, he stated that finance serves as the driving force for realizing a sustainable society, and called for intensified efforts in this regard.
In Session 1, under the title “Progress from the Declaration on Financial Action for Building a Green Economy System” based on the content of the Sixth Basic Environment Plan, the Ministry of the Environment and the Financial Services Agency reported their initiatives to promote sustainable finance. Additionally, the Regional Banks Association of Japan delivered a presentation on the sustainability promotion initiatives undertaken by regional banks. During subsequent discussions, the panelists deliberated on enhancing regional financial capabilities and trends in ESG finance. Opinions were shared on the roles and initiatives expected of financial institutions to facilitate the adoption of ESG finance into local communities, as well as domestic corporate trends in sustainable finance.
In Session 2, the Japanese Bankers Association, the Kyushu Economic Federation, and the Impact Startup Association introduced concrete initiatives related to the three pillars aimed at deepening ESG finance outlined in the Declaration on Financial Action for Building a Green Economic System, and discussions ensued on strategies and challenges for promoting these initiatives across a wide range of industries. During the discussion on expanding environmental finance, opinions were expressed on the role of financial institutions in achieving carbon neutrality/net zero, the importance of collaboration with industry, the necessity for efforts by asset management companies to promote sustainable finance, and the significance of each business sector in realizing a circular economy. During the discussions on green management in regional companies, opinions were expressed on the importance of fostering momentum for ESG finance through collaboration between regional financial institutions and economic organizations, as well as addressing regional issues. Furthermore, during the discussion on expanding investment in environmental startups, opinions were expressed on the current state of capital inflows to impact startups, sharing of case studies on corporate growth, and the importance of startup funding for addressing social challenges.
In his closing remarks, State Minister for the Environment AOYAMA Shigeharu addressed recent issues related to mega-solar power projects, emphasizing the importance of impact-focused, socially responsible investments, as discussed by the panel, to ensure that environmental investments do not negatively affect local communities. Furthermore, to support such investments, he indicated that the Ministry of the Environment intends to advance initiatives in collaboration with relevant ministries and agencies.
TOKYO, Mar. 3, 2026 /Kyodo JBN/ --
Tokyo Electron Device Ltd.
TOKYO ELECTRON DEVICE AMERICA's Warehouse DX Solution "HAKO-FLO(R)" Adopted by Yusen Logistics (Americas) Inc.

Tokyo Electron Device Ltd. (hereafter TED), headquartered in Tokyo, announces that its U.S. subsidiary, TOKYO ELECTRON DEVICE AMERICA, INC. (hereafter TEDAI), has provided its warehouse DX solution "HAKO-FLO(R)" to Yusen Logistics (Americas) Inc. (hereafter YLA). The solution has contributed to greater operational efficiency at YLA's Chicago warehouse by reducing misshipments caused by human error, digitizing inspection records, and improving data collaboration with management departments.

Background of Implementation
The logistics industry in the U.S. faces challenges such as increasing shipment volumes due to e-commerce and severe labor shortages. At YLA's Chicago warehouse, achieving accuracy and speed in export operations was a key issue.

There was room for improvement in the following areas:
-Risk of misshipments due to mislabeling
-Inconsistencies in image quality during inbound inspections
-Delays in information sharing caused by paper-based reporting

To address these issues, YLA adopted "HAKO-FLO(R)," TEDAI's proprietary DX solution for warehouse operations. Since its introduction in July 2023, the use of RFID and mobile-based image capturing has significantly improved warehouse operation efficiency.

Features of Provided Solutions
"HAKO-FLO(R)" is a warehouse management DX solution deployed in the cloud or on premises.

YLA's Chicago warehouse implemented the following services:
-RFID Query
Enables fast and accurate verification of target cargo by scanning RFID, reducing errors, and improving operational efficiency.
-EZ-report
Allows users to record and send reports of cargo damage or packaging issues using a tablet, standardizing inspection results and enabling swift information sharing.
-EZ-Snap Air
Works with EZ-report to allow smooth photo capture and reporting using a smartphone, accelerating on-site documentation.

Service overview: https://cdn.kyodonewsprwire.jp/prwfile/release/M108814/202602194321/_prw_PI1fl_m1cDezz0.png

Effects of Solution Implementation
HAKO-FLO(R) Cloud's centralized management strengthens collaboration between warehouse operations and administrative teams.

All service data is consolidated into a single platform, enabling real-time sharing of scan data and images across on-site staff, offices, and remote locations. This visibility allows instant verification from anywhere, significantly improving coordination accuracy.

Future Outlook
Based on this successful implementation, TEDAI will continue to move forward with one clear mission: to deliver greater value to its customers. The company will accelerate new HAKO-FLO(R) services, expand its network, and extend its proven solutions into new processes and industries. Guided by "DX rooted in the field," TEDAI is committed to standing beside its customers--driving practical innovation that strengthens their operations, enhances resilience, and creates lasting competitive advantage.

Comment from Mr. Yosuke Shibata, Quality Assurance Director, Yusen Logistics (Americas) Inc.
“Leveraging RFID and photographic documentation has significantly reduced the risk of errors and oversights. The quality of inspection processes has improved, and response time to customer needs has shortened. The ability to instantly access reports via HAKO-FLO(R) Cloud has proven extremely helpful, allowing management to review field updates in real time. Coordination between sites has improved, and decision-making has become faster.”
"BEPPU PROJECT" in Beppu City, Oita Prefecture, Southwestern Japan, Proposes New Journey to Experience Beppu through Art

BEPPU PROJECT, a nonprofit organization based in Beppu City, Oita Prefecture, southwestern Japan, has just installed the new artwork "space II" by art team "me" in "ALTERNATIVE-STATE," an art project that started in 2022 to enhance the hot spa-rich city's brand loyalty, as a proposed new journey to experience the city through art.

As one of the world's leading hot spring resorts, Beppu not only boasts a unique culture centered around hot spas, and with them the evocative image of steam rising mysteriously from the earth, but also is proving itself as a hub in the art world, with both local and overseas artistic endeavors gaining steady attention. The combination of these two points of appeal -- natural hot springs and the world of art -- makes Beppu a truly unique travel destination.

ALTERNATIVE-STATE is an art project conceived as "A gateway to a world regenerated into an alternative state," dedicated to community building through art in Beppu City. Now, in 2026, the project features eight permanent pieces by eight artists and artist units active in Japan and abroad, as well as audio works that can only be experienced on location, a newly designed mechanism for fostering a more multifaceted engagement with the art. Introduced below is the newly installed artwork.
