TOKYO, Aug. 28, 2026 /Kyodo JBN/ --
ISEHAN Co., Ltd.
ISEHAN's "KISSME Heroine Make" Eye Makeup Sales on Amazon U.S. Increase by 150% and Google Search Volume Surges by 5,000%

"KISSME Heroine Make," one of Japan's leading J-Beauty brands manufactured by ISEHAN Co., Ltd., is currently increasing its presence in the U.S. market with its flagship product, "KISSME Heroine Make Long/Volume UP Mascara Super WP N." The sales quantity of the brand on Amazon U.S. increased by 150% in June 2026 compared to June 2025. In addition, Google search volume for the brand increased by more than 5,000% in April-June 2026 compared with the same period in 2025.

Awareness of the brand is gaining momentum in the U.S. market due to a rising demand for "Long-Lasting Beauty". Among consumers, interest in cosmetics that last over an extended period of time is increasing, boosted by the growing trend towards prioritizing durability and functionality.

Image1: https://cdn.kyodonewsprwire.jp/prwfile/release/M109126/202608214510/_prw_PI2fl_55G4z6X3.png

Three Factors Driving the Growing Demand for Long-Lasting Beauty

1. Long-lasting makeup for more active days
American consumers increasingly seek makeup that can last throughout their long, active day without frequent touch-ups. With the growing trend of living a healthy lifestyle, people work out and look for cosmetics that can withstand sweat.

2. Demand for convenience and reliability
As active lifestyles become the norm, long-lasting performance has become a key consideration when choosing cosmetics.

3. Need for durability in challenging conditions
Recently, environmental conditions such as extreme heat and humidity have become increasingly severe, causing a demand for makeup that can hold up against high temperatures, moisture, as well as extended wear.

Meeting the Makeup Needs of Today's American Lifestyle: Super Durable LONG & CURL MASCARA

Originating from Japan, "KISSME Heroine Make Long/Volume UP Mascara Super WP N" is designed to withstand Japan's humid climate without smudging all day, as well as maintain a curl for extended periods, especially for Asian straight lashes. Compared with the previous product "KISSME Heroine Make Long (Volume) UP mascara Super WP," the latest version offers enhanced durability and curl retention. This mascara won over consumers who prioritize durability and curl retention, becoming the No.1 mascara brand for four consecutive years (*1) in Japan.

Over the past year, the sales quantity of KISSME Heroine Make on Amazon U.S. increased by 150% compared with June 2025. In addition, Google search volume for the brand surged by 900% between January-March and April-June 2026. Compared with April-June 2025, search volume in April-June 2026 increased by more than 5,000%.

This success demonstrates growing recognition among consumers who value high-performance, long-lasting cosmetics. Furthermore, the qualities meet the needs of American consumers seeking new mascara options amidst changing climates and lifestyles.

The Heritage Behind the Performance: 20 Years of Innovation Behind Japan's No.1 Mascara

Image4: https://cdn.kyodonewsprwire.jp/prwfile/release/M109126/202608214510/_prw_PI5fl_2dzE1Mkt.png

"KISSME Heroine Make" mascara's success is rooted in more than 20 years of continuous in-house research, product improvement, and relentless refinement of mascara technology. Rather than treating mascara as a trend-driven product, this brand has continuously evolved its formulas to deliver long-lasting wear, durability, and ease of use consumers expect in everyday life. This commitment to quality has helped make "KISSME Heroine Make" one of Japan's best-selling mascara brands, delivering the long-lasting performance consumers increasingly seek today. Behind this achievement stands the company, ISEHAN's 200-year heritage of craftsmanship, innovation, and consumer-focused product development.

Outlook: Building Long-Term Brand Value
As interest in Asian beauty continues to expand globally, K-Beauty has shown to be successful through powerful marketing and viral trends. At the same time, J-Beauty's long-term approach, as reflected in "KISSME Heroine Make," is brand-building through continuous R&D and product refinement. The brand aims to foster lasting consumer trust and achieve sustainable growth in the U.S. market as a Japanese cosmetic backed by high-level cosmetic research leading IFSCC (*2) ranking.

(*2) The world's largest and most prestigious research conference on cosmetic technology

TOKYO, Aug. 28, 2026 /Kyodo JBN/ --
Casio Computer Co., Ltd.
Casio Computer Co., Ltd. announces that the digital sound source created through Casio's "Akiko's Piano" Digital Instrument Sound Project, managed by its European subsidiary CASIO Europe GmbH, made its European premiere at the Martha Argerich Festival 2026, an internationally renowned classical music festival held in Hamburg, Germany, from June 20 to June 30, 2026.

Image1: https://cdn.kyodonewsprwire.jp/prwfile/release/M109196/202608244577/_prw_PI1fl_bQngNK4Q.jpg

Image2: https://cdn.kyodonewsprwire.jp/prwfile/release/M109196/202608244577/_prw_PI2fl_GySwdn17.jpg

Akiko's Piano is a historic upright piano built in 1926 that was damaged by the atomic bombing of Hiroshima on August 6, 1945. Following its restoration in 2005, it has been performed by many musicians, including Martha Argerich, and has continued to carry a message of peace through its sound.

To carry this historic sound into the future, Casio has been advancing the "Akiko's Piano" Digital Instrument Sound Project, carefully recording the sound of each of the piano's 88 keys and reconstructing it as a digital sound source.

During the festival, CASIO presented a dedicated CASIO CELVIANO booth at Laeiszhalle, the festival venue, where visitors experienced the sound of Akiko's Piano as realized through CELVIANO, a Casio digital piano. Many visitors expressed strong appreciation for the project's purpose, as well as keen interest in the sound of Akiko's Piano carried forward through CELVIANO.

On June 27, the Akiko's Piano digital sound source was featured as part of the musical score for the stage production "The Postman of Nagasaki," with pianist Akane Sakai performing the piece live on CELVIANO.

This was followed on June 29 by the world premiere of "Akiko's Piano - Piano Concerto No. 4" by composer Dai Fujikura, presented as part of an orchestral concert. Performed by Sakai using the Akiko's Piano digital sound source through CELVIANO, the work was inspired by the story of Akiko's Piano. The performance was met with an enthusiastic response from the audience, culminating in a standing ovation.

The "Akiko's Piano" Digital Instrument Sound Project represents a new approach to preserving cultural heritage by using digital technology to record and carry forward the sound of a historic piano while passing it on to future generations as a playable digital sound source.

Casio will continue working to preserve cultural heritage through music technology while sharing with the world -- across generations and borders -- the wish for peace embodied by Akiko's Piano.
KYOTO, Japan, Aug. 26, 2026 /Kyodo JBN/ --
ROHM Co., Ltd.
ROHM Co., Ltd. has developed 4th-generation 650V IGBTs for automotive electric compressors and HV heaters, as well as inverters for industrial equipment. As automotive-grade 650V-class products, the new IGBTs achieve class-leading* low conduction loss with VCE(sat)=1.55V, while providing high short-circuit tolerance and complying with the AEC-Q101 automotive reliability standard.
*ROHM’s August 25, 2026 study

Figures1: Product features https://cdn.kyodonewsprwire.jp/prwfile/release/M106254/202608194399/_prw_PI1fl_XfM2m2kD.jpg

As electric vehicles shift to higher voltages, SiC is increasingly adopted in high-power applications such as traction inverters. Meanwhile, 650V IGBTs are widely used as switching devices in auxiliary systems with lower-power capacity, including electric compressors and HV heaters, and in industrial equipment such as motors and compressors, and demand is expected to continue expanding.

These applications require greater energy savings and smaller equipment designs, creating strong demand for power devices that offer higher reliability, smaller size, and higher efficiency. In particular, inverter and heater circuits require short-circuit tolerance sufficient to endure the time needed to detect and interrupt overcurrent.

To meet these demands, ROHM redesigned the device structure, process, and edge termination structure to develop 4th-generation IGBTs that combine low-loss characteristics with high short-circuit tolerance while addressing higher-voltage requirements. These products increase current density while reducing conduction and switching losses. Despite the trade-off between lower loss and short-circuit tolerance, the products achieve a short-circuit withstand time of 7 microseconds at Tj = 25C, helping improve application efficiency and reliability.

The lineup includes 12 products in the TO-247N package, the "RGAxxTS65HR" / RGAxxTS65EHR series, and 10 bare wafer products, the SG83xxWN series. ROHM is also developing 12 products in the TO-247-4L package, the RGAxxTR65HR / RGAxxTR65EHR series.

Going forward, ROHM plans to further expand the lineup in the same packages and develop compact, surface-mount IGBTs in the TO-263L package and top-side cooling (TSC) packages. ROHM will continue expanding the lineup of high-performance IGBTs to support higher efficiency and miniaturization in automotive and industrial equipment.
OKAZAKI, Japan, Aug. 25, 2026 /Kyodo JBN/ --
Institute for Molecular Science, National Institutes of Natural Sciences
Institute for Molecular Science (hereinafter "IMS"), National Institutes of Natural Sciences, announced on August 24 that Japan's first full-stack neutral-atom quantum computer "Shunkai," developed by a research team led by Professor Kenji Ohmori, is now operational.

Quantum computers are being developed in various modalities worldwide. However, there remain challenges to address for their practical applications, such as scalability and error correction during computation.

Anticipated to overcome those challenges, neutral-atom quantum computing has been rapidly attracting attention from industry, academia and government worldwide as a groundbreaking new modality. Neutral-atom quantum computing uses a single atom as a qubit (*1) and has exceptional features, including:
- Room-temperature operation without the need for a refrigerator.
- Achieve quantum entanglement (*2) (the source of quantum speedup) between arbitrary qubits by moving the atoms (qubits) during computations.
- Flexibly optimize qubit configuration for each algorithm.
- Relatively easy to increase the number of qubits.
- Long lifetime of quantum information in each qubit.

At the IMS, Professor Ohmori is the project manager leading the neutral-atom quantum computing research and development team for the project "Large-scale and high-coherence fault-tolerant quantum computer with dynamical atom arrays" under the Cabinet Office/JST Moonshot Research and Development Program Goal 6, "Realization of a fault-tolerant universal quantum computer." Aiming at practical quantum computers, the team has developed Japan's first full-stack neutral-atom quantum computer named Shunkai (see Fig. 1).

A "full-stack" system, as shown in Fig. 2, refers to a system that integrates multiple layers (stacks) necessary for converting user inputs into drive signals for the computing device to execute computational output as its result. Personal computers and supercomputers are examples of full-stack systems. Inside Shunkai, atomic qubits are captured in an array using "optical tweezers (*3)" generated by tightly focusing laser light with an objective lens. Quantum calculations are performed by irradiating the atoms with microwaves or laser light. The computational results are interpreted by observing the fluorescence from each individual atom with a camera. The IMS has taken the lead in developing this full-stack quantum computer, leveraging a strong industry-academia collaboration within the Ohmori Moonshot Project with Hitachi, Ltd. for the software stack and with Infleqtion, Inc. for the Quantum Processing Unit (QPU) stack.

Shunkai will use approximately 50 qubits in its early stage, and will expand its scale to approximately 500 qubits. The system will be partially open to external users for the development of its applications and the demonstration and improvement of quantum error correction (*4). Plans also include collaboration with Yaqumo Inc., where Professor Ohmori serves as a founder and executive advisor, from the viewpoint of the social implementation and upgrade of the quantum computer.

Future Developments
In the second stage of the Ohmori Moonshot Project "Neutral atom-based fault-tolerant quantum computer" that just started in April 2026, the team will operate this full-stack quantum computer to further develop and improve the integration and control technologies, upgrade the system toward fault tolerance and larger scales, and enable high stability and high-fidelity quantum computation for extended periods of time. By March 2031, at the end of the second stage, the goal is to realize a large-scale, high-performance neutral-atom fault-tolerant quantum computer, with 10,000 physical qubits and quantum error detection and correction capabilities, available to external users.

Message from Professor Kenji Ohmori, Institute for Molecular Science:
"Neutral atom-based quantum computers have recently been rapidly attracting attention around the world as a new modality that could exceed the limits of the superconducting modality, which started its development earlier. I think it is extremely significant that now we have developed Japan's first full-stack quantum computer in this cutting-edge modality and started its operation. We expect that the external use of our full-stack machine Shunkai, for example, by the theory and software researchers for the development of error-correction technologies, and by the corporate researchers toward practical applications would lead to ripple effects on various fields in industry, academia and government around the world. It is also expected that Shunkai will be integrated with the existing shared supercomputer facility at the IMS to develop into a quantum-GPU hybrid computing center."

About Shunkai
It is named after Harumi Shibukawa, where his given name "Harumi" is also pronounced as Shunkai, an Edo-period (1603-1867) astronomer who established the first original calendar system in Japan. Calculations of celestial motion on the celestial sphere evoke the precise control of quantum states on the "Bloch sphere," which represents the state of a qubit in the physics expert community. With the highest respect to Shibukawa who developed Japan's first indigenous calendar based on precise calculations, this system Shunkai has been named in the hope that Japan's first full-stack neutral-atom quantum computer will perform precise quantum computations.
(Takafumi Tomita, Assistant Professor, Institute for Molecular Science, National Institutes of Natural Sciences)

Glossary
(*1) Qubit: The basic unit of information in a quantum computer. Unlike conventional bits, which can only take on either "0" or "1," a quantum bit can simultaneously represent both "0" and "1" states through quantum mechanical "superposition."

(*2) Quantum entanglement: A phenomenon unique to quantum mechanics where two or more particles (quanta) maintain a strong correlation with each other, even at distances, and the observation result of one instantly determines the state of the other.

(*3) Optical tweezer: A technique that uses laser light to capture particles such as atoms or dielectric particles near the focal point.

(*4) Quantum error correction: A technique for correcting calculation errors caused by the imperfection of manipulations and influence of the surrounding environment on quantum bits during the calculation process. Because quantum states are extremely fragile and easily broken, this technique is essential for quantum computers.
Tadashi Sasuga, Senior General Manager, Head of Global TOMICA Division, Brands Business, TOMY Company, Ltd., says: "We believe in the limitless potential of 'Asobi' to move people’s hearts and bring people together across generations and regions. TOMICA XROSS RESCUE, which we launched in Mainland China ahead of other regions, has resonated with children in China, who admire rescue workers and find them cool. The anime series was viewed more than 6.2 million times across seven major platforms (*) during an approximately four-month period (April 1-August 14) following its release, showing its strong popularity.

"We feel that the diorama-based short animation series, which we launched as a new experimental project, has been well received by numerous TOMICA fans. Encouraged by this response, we plan to expand the series primarily in Asian markets where TOMICA has long been loved. We look forward to seeing how this series, which is filled with TOMICA's unique charm and play value and features rescue-themed vehicles, will grow in Japan, Taiwan region, Hong Kong SAR, and South Korea."
KYOTO, Japan, Aug. 7, 2026 /Kyodo JBN/ --
ROHM Co., Ltd.
ROHM Co., Ltd. has developed a 2nd-generation terahertz (THz) wave oscillation device using resonant tunneling diodes (RTDs). ROHM is making the device available via the RTD-EVK-G2 Terahertz Wave Device Evaluation Kit, which includes a sample device, cable, and evaluation board. The kit enables companies and research institutions to evaluate THz wave oscillation and detection in a compact development environment.

Photo: EVK
https://cdn.kyodonewsprwire.jp/prwfile/release/M106254/202608033600/_prw_PI1fl_anhoBsdn.jpg

Occupying the frequency region between radio waves and light, terahertz waves combine the penetrating properties of radio waves with the straight-line propagation of light. Because they exhibit unique absorption characteristics for polymers, moisture, and other substances, they are expected to be used in non-destructive testing without ionizing radiation, medical and healthcare applications, and high-resolution radar sensing. However, conventional terahertz systems require large equipment and high implementation costs, making it difficult for new companies and research institutions to enter the field or pursue commercialization.

Since the late 2000s, ROHM has engaged in joint research with universities and research institutions to develop THz wave oscillation and detection devices using RTDs. In 2024, ROHM began offering samples of 1st-generation products, achieving substantial downsizing and cost reduction compared with conventional methods.

ROHM’s 2nd-generation device addresses growing demand for improved signal quality in application development. It maintains the same compact 0.5 x 0.5mm chip size as the 1st-generation product while adopting an internal structure that enables output power approximately four times higher than that of the former product, reaching a maximum of 40 microwatts. This improves the detectability of THz waves after transmission through or reflection from target objects, making the device suitable for sensing and imaging applications that require high signal quality.

The device is mounted in the same 4.0 x 4.3mm PLCC package, maintaining the industry’s smallest* footprint. This enables evaluation environments to be built even in space-constrained settings. Compared with other THz generation methods, the RTD approach generates less heat and consumes less power, reducing application development load at both companies and research institutions.
TOKYO, Aug. 7, 2026 /Kyodo JBN/ --
NAVITIME JAPAN Co., Ltd.
- "Taiwan Travel by NAVITIME" App Adds Official TDX Transit Data and Expands Spot Listings to over 10,000 Locations across Taiwan -

NAVITIME JAPAN Co., Ltd. announced that it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the "Taiwan Tourism Promotion Project" with the Tourism Administration, Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MOTC) of Taiwan on July 23, 2026. The partnership aims to stimulate inbound travel to Taiwan by improving overall convenience for travelers and promoting smart tourism initiatives.

Logo: https://cdn.kyodonewsprwire.jp/prwfile/release/M104492/202607303422/_prw_PI1fl_zG2h7zU4.png

This partnership combines the Taiwan Tourism Administration's local network with NAVITIME JAPAN's digital transformation (DX) and data analysis capabilities in the tourism sector. The two organizations will collaborate on joint promotions, expand transportation navigation in the "Taiwan Travel by NAVITIME" app, utilize traveler data for marketing strategies, and establish the app as an officially recognized service. A key goal is to improve convenience for Free Independent Travelers (FIT) and encourage visits to regional areas outside major cities.

First Collaborative Initiative
As the first step in this partnership, the "Taiwan Travel by NAVITIME" app -- a dedicated navigation application for international tourists -- has been expanded. It now integrates open data from the Tourism Administration's Transport Data eXchange (TDX) platform, adding over 10,000 listings for tourist spots and local events. Users can search for tourist spots across all of Taiwan, including Taipei, and receive step-by-step route guidance by train and bus directly within the app. NAVITIME JAPAN translated the integrated data into five languages: English, Japanese, Korean, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese.

Four Key Pillars of the MOU
1. Joint Promotions: Distributing information and encouraging service usage.
2. Expanded Navigation Features: Adding transit data and expanding spot information to increase traveler satisfaction.
3. Data-Driven Strategy: Formulating tourism strategies based on shared data to support smart tourism.
KYOTO, Japan, July 29, 2026 /Kyodo JBN/ --
Nuvoton Technology Corporation Japan
Nuvoton Technology Corporation Japan (hereinafter "NTCJ") announced on July 29 that it will begin mass production in September 2026 of battery-monitoring ICs (BMICs), KA49703A and KA49713A, optimized for battery backup units (BBUs) used in AI servers. As AI servers become critical infrastructure supporting modern society, ensuring continuous operation requires highly reliable power systems capable of running 24/7 throughout the year. By leveraging the company's proven automotive-grade daisy-chain communication technology in 400V/800V high-voltage BBU applications, the KA49703A and KA49713A help realize highly reliable and efficient power architecture.

Key visual: https://cdn.kyodonewsprwire.jp/prwfile/release/M108245/202607212859/_prw_PI4fl_DQP84WFU.png

Image1: https://cdn.kyodonewsprwire.jp/prwfile/release/M108245/202607212859/_prw_PI5fl_cwkcyY99.png

The KA49703A and KA49713A incorporate daisy-chain communication technology. Multiple BMICs can be connected in series, enabling systems with up to 55 devices while minimizing wiring requirements and ensuring robust communication even in high-voltage environments. This architecture reduces the need for additional MCUs and isolation components, simplifying system design, reducing component count, minimizing board space, and improving overall reliability. The compact QFP-48 package (7 mm x 7 mm) also helps address the stringent space constraints found in AI server BBUs. Combined with high-precision voltage measurement accuracy of plus or minus 2.9 mV, the device enhances both monitoring performance and safety in next-generation power systems.

Figure: https://cdn.kyodonewsprwire.jp/prwfile/release/M108245/202607212859/_prw_PI3fl_w0WeDG3t.png

AI-server BBUs and large-scale ESS installations contain numerous lithium-ion cells and are often transported over long distances by ship or truck. Minimizing power consumption during transportation and storage is therefore essential. However, conventional ICs incorporating daisy-chain communication typically exhibit increased shutdown current, leading to battery drain during storage and transport. To solve this issue, the KA49713A incorporates a dedicated transportation and storage mode that reduces shutdown current to less than 0.1 microampere. This significantly minimizes battery depletion during transportation and storage, extends allowable storage periods, reduces recharge requirements, and contributes to lower operating costs.

Through continued expansion of its BMIC product lineup, NTCJ will further advance battery-monitoring technologies and contribute to realizing a sustainable and highly reliable energy society. Samples are already available, with mass-production shipments scheduled to start in September 2026.
https://cdn.kyodonewsprwire.jp/prwfile/release/M106254/202607132432/_prw_PI1fl_I08c6PMI.jpg

In recent years, battery-powered electronic devices, such as wearables, mobile devices, and IoT gadgets have become ubiquitous in everyday life. The components used in these devices require not only miniaturization to improve design aesthetics and enable new features, but also to reduce power consumption in order to extend battery life. ROHM has continued to develop power supply ICs to meet these market demands.

The BD83070GWL is a buck-boost DC-DC converter IC developed with the goal of becoming a “definitive low-power eco-device” for electronic devices powered by small batteries and other limited power sources. It achieves high efficiency of up to 97% and an ultra-low quiescent current of 2.8 microamperes.

The newly developed evaluation board was designed to achieve the smallest possible footprint for a buck-boost DC-DC converter, a key requirement for small battery-powered devices. By integrating the BD83070GWL with a coil, capacitors, and a total of only five components, it achieves an ultra-compact mounting area of 12.87 mm2 (3.3 x 3.9 mm). As a result, it offers a significant advantage in terms of mounting area compared to conventional buck-boost DC-DC IC configurations, including those with built-in coils.
OSAKA, Japan, July 22, 2026 /Kyodo JBN/ --
Daicel Corporation High Performance Polymers SBU
Daicel Corporation's High Performance Polymers (HPPs) SBU (formerly Polyplastics Co., Ltd.), a global leader in engineering plastics, has launched four new DURACON (R) POM grades containing 30% post-consumer recycled (PCR) material. This new PCR-POM offering includes "standard, low VOC, sliding, and tough" grades which enable customers to select the material that suits their applications needs.

Image: https://cdn.kyodonewsprwire.jp/prwfile/release/M100475/202607152558/_prw_PI1fl_4193114y.png

These newly developed grades were first unveiled at CHINAPLAS 2026 held in Shanghai in April. The standard PCR-POM grade offers a melt flow rate of 9 while low VOC materials meet OEM requirements. The sliding grade offers significantly better sliding properties while tough materials deliver the same performance as virgin POM grades.

Since 2023, Daicel has offered DURACIRCLE (R) re-compounding service which recycles plastic scrap collected from customer plants. While the previous focus was on post-industrial recycling (PIR) which reuses scrap generated during manufacturing, the PCR-POM currently under development utilizes POM that has been used in the market as a recycled raw material.

A major challenge in utilizing PCR materials is variability in properties and ensuring consistent quality. Leveraging its long-standing compounding expertise and quality control technologies, Daicel has confirmed that key mechanical properties remain at levels comparable to conventional grades, even with 30% recycled content (based on in-house test conditions).

DURACON (R) POM has been adopted across a wide range of industrial sectors. It features high mechanical strength/rigidity, excellent wear resistance, sliding properties, and high dimensional stability. It is widely used in applications such as gears, connectors, precision parts, and automotive components.

Daicel is undertaking further development activities with the aim of expanding its PCR-POM offering to meet a wider range of needs.
ANA Akindo Co., Ltd.
ANA Akindo Co., Ltd., and Mombetsu City, Hokkaido, have officially launched a joint inbound tourism campaign spearheaded by All Nippon Airways Co., Ltd. (ANA) to promote inbound tourism.

For a limited two-week period starting July 14, ANA will offer special promotional fares for travelers departing from Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong SAR and the Philippines. Under this new initiative, travelers booking a combined itinerary to both Tokyo and Mombetsu can access exclusive fares, making the journey to Mombetsu more affordable than a standard flight to Tokyo alone.

Mombetsu, located in northern Hokkaido, has many undiscovered charms, including ice drift cruises in winter, fresh seafood from the Sea of Okhotsk, opportunities to encounter seals, and vast nature. Travelers can book stopovers (*1) in Tokyo exceeding 24 hours before heading north at no additional airfare cost (*2). This new offering allows travelers to connect the urban landscape of Tokyo with the serene charm of Mombetsu. This provides an opportunity to make a trip to Japan more fruitful and diverse.

Notes:
(*1) Stopover period: 24 hours or more
Gurunavi, Inc. announced that the inaugural Japanese pavilion, titled "JAPAN WOOD x CRAFTSMANSHIP*," will debut at Decor + Design 2026, Australia’s premier interior design exhibition, to be held from Wednesday, July 15 to Friday, July 17 at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre. In a historic first for the exhibition, a nationally certified Japanese Master of Traditional Crafts will be present at the pavilion, performing live demonstrations of advanced woodworking techniques daily throughout the three-day event.
*This exhibition is operated and supported by Gurunavi, Inc. as part of a subsidized project by the Forestry Agency, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Japan, aimed at promoting Japanese wood products.

Embodying "FRESH!": Bridging Ancient Heritage and Contemporary Design

At the pavilion, visitors can explore a curated collection of more than 40 exceptional pieces, ranging from design-forward wood products that seamlessly blend time-honored Japanese techniques with modern lifestyles to traditional lacquerware and Hakone Yosegi-Zaiku (wood mosaic), each with a 1,000-year heritage, the latter celebrated for its intricate geometric patterns created exclusively from the natural colors of wood. The exhibition presents a fresh aesthetic for wood products, reimagining ancient heritage to beautifully complement and elevate contemporary living spaces.

Tackling Climate Change: Japan’s Circular Use of Forest Resources

Approximately 70% of Japan’s land area is covered by forests, with about 40% of these areas classified as planted forests. While planted forests account for only about 8% of the world's total forest area, Japan boasts one of the highest ratios globally. This achievement is the direct result of Japan’s long-standing dedication to the circular use of forest resources through the sustainable cycle of planting new seedlings after logging.

Wood products are remarkably eco-friendly materials; they absorb carbon dioxide during their growth phase, emit low carbon dioxide during manufacturing and continue to store carbon internally throughout their lifespan as finished goods. Like this, these high-value wood products contribute significantly to achieving net-zero emissions and advancing corporate ESG goals.

Decor + Design 2026 First: Live Demonstrations by One of Only Six Hakone Yosegi-Zaiku Masters in Japan

The title of "Japanese Master of Traditional Crafts," certified by Japan’s Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, is a prestigious designation reserved exclusively for a select group of elite artisans. In the highly specialized field of Hakone Yosegi-Zaiku, only six individuals nationwide hold this distinguished honor. Kazutaka Tsuyuki, one of these rare masters, will travel to Melbourne to demonstrate his extraordinary craftsmanship live at the exhibition.

At the pavilion, Tsuyuki will reveal the delicate process of shaving intricate geometric wooden patterns and the fascinating mechanics behind the traditional "Secret Box" (Himitsu-Bako) -- a puzzle box that remains locked until a precise sequence of movements is performed. This interactive showcase offers an invaluable opportunity for ANZ media and industry professionals to experience world-class craftsmanship firsthand.
Established under Japan’s accreditation framework for Japanese language education, this system replaced the former Ministry of Justice's notification-based framework and positioned MEXT as the authority responsible for reviewing and accrediting institutions based on educational quality and operational standards. Accredited institutions are expected to continue strengthening quality assurance and the learning environment while providing highly reliable Japanese language education.
TOKYO, June 18, 2026 /Kyodo JBN/ --
Floadia Corporation
Floadia Corporation (hereinafter "Floadia"), a Tokyo, Japan-based developer of embedded flash IP (eFlash IP), has announced the release of its latest automotive eFlash IP, G1, implemented on TSMC's 180BCD Gen3 process platform. The newly released IP is designed to meet the stringent reliability and performance requirements of next-generation automotive applications.

The G1 automotive eFlash IP integrates a 256KB program flash macro and a 1KB data flash macro based on SONOS technology, offering a highly reliable and cost-effective non-volatile memory solution for automotive ICs. The G1 eFlash process is added on top of TSMC's standard 180BCD Gen3 platform without any modification to the original PDK, allowing customers to use the same qualified PDK while seamlessly integrating embedded flash into their designs. The IP has successfully passed AEC-Q100 Grade 1 full qualification on TSMC 180BCD Gen3, confirming its robustness under harsh automotive operating conditions and readiness for production.

The eFlash IP consists of:
- 256KB program flash (PFlash) for code storage
- 1KB data flash (DFlash) with 100K program/erase endurance, enabling EEPROM-like functionality for data storage

Both PFlash and DFlash are optimized for fast operation, achieving a maximum erase time of less than 20ms, which significantly improves system performance and reduces firmware update time in automotive systems.

To simplify system integration, the G1 eFlash IP includes an internal charge pump, eliminating the need for external high-voltage circuitry. In addition, both PFlash and DFlash provide an 8 parity-bit code for ECC interface, ensuring high data integrity and reliability throughout the device lifetime.

With its proven SONOS-based architecture, fast erase performance, and full automotive qualification, Floadia's G1 eFlash IP on TSMC 180BCD Gen3 is well suited for a wide range of automotive applications, including power management ICs, motor drivers, body electronics, and other automotive systems.

About Floadia Corporation:
Floadia Corporation was founded in 2011 by a team of seasoned engineers with over 20 years of experience in developing embedded non-volatile memory technologies at Hitachi, Ltd. and Renesas Technology (now Renesas Electronics Corporation). OSAKA, Japan, June 17, 2026 /Kyodo JBN/ --
Daicel Corporation High Performance Polymers SBU
Daicel Corporation’s High Performance Polymers (HPPs) SBU (formerly Polyplastics Co., Ltd.), a global leader in engineering plastics, has announced that its DURAST(R) POM fine powder has been adopted for use in an innovative stick-form lubricant produced by Japan-based Maia Co. Ltd. This groundbreaking solid lubricant, utilizing newly launched DURAST(R) POM fine powder, resolves issues such as dripping, splattering, and waste caused by over-application, dramatically transforming maintenance processes.

Maia’s unique manufacturing technology, called Sol - Mid (TM), delivers a product that is typically packaged in a stick-shaped container and can also be molded into custom shapes to meet customer needs. The performance of Sol - Mid (TM) is underpinned by the chemical properties of DURAST(R) POM. This product is formed by mixing ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMW-PE) with grease. DURAST(R) POM acts as an interlayer between the PE and the grease, and plays a crucial role in maintaining compatibility.

With the stick format, there is no risk of leakage like with liquids, and because it is easy to carry, it offers greater convenience at maintenance sites for office equipment and industrial machinery. For the maintenance of office equipment, it can reduce the use of conventional maintenance oil by approximately 80%.

Previously, the processing of general-purpose resins into uniform powder using conventional grinding methods was extremely difficult. Daicel overcame this challenge by developing a proprietary manufacturing process for DURAST(R) POM, which features a distinctive shape and controlled, fine and sharp particle size distribution.

This stick format solution utilizing DURAST(R) POM is scheduled for full-scale commercialization by targeting maintenance applications for major office equipment manufacturers, in addition to industrial sectors such as industrial machinery repair, bicycle maintenance and conveyor systems.
