The Tokyo Station Hotel Expands Carbon Neutral Stay Program to All Rooms to Help Achieve Sustainable World

The Tokyo Station Hotel has applied the Carbon Neutral Stay program to all its rooms booked through any channels beginning in April to accelerate efforts to help attain a sustainable world. The hotel’s main dining, Restaurant Blanc Rouge, has renewed its menu concept to support local sourcing.

The Tokyo Station Hotel is taking action to combat global warming. With the program, the hotel virtually eliminates carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions during guests' stay at its cost, no matter through what channels they make a reservation, and this is an unprecedented initiative as a full-service hotel in Japan. Hotel guests will automatically contribute to environmental conservation by simply staying in the hotel. Moreover, the hotel has undertaken other initiatives such as food waste reduction, community contribution, and energy conservation, and will continue to make efforts to help achieve a sustainable world.
Restaurant Blanc Rouge, proactively involved in SDGs initiatives by reducing food loss and promoting sourcing from local producers, updated its menu concept in April 2024. The Tokyo Station Hotel to Sell Accommodation Package with Original Suitcases and Mini Trunks Made by British Luxury Luggage Brand "Globe-Trotter"

The Tokyo Station Hotel, conveniently located 30 seconds' walk from Tokyo Station and in the Tokyo Station Marunouchi Building, which is an important cultural property, will start selling an accommodation package that comes with its original suitcases and mini trunks, produced in collaboration with Globe-Trotter, Britain’s luxury luggage brand, from November 1 (Wednesday), 2023.

The hotel’s original products that can be bought only in Japan -- featuring a "red and natural leather" body color inspired by the red bricks of the Tokyo Station building where the hotel is located, and a fashionable fabric design with a hand painting-style pattern on the lining. The number of suitcases will be limited to 40, and only 20 mini trunks, both of which are very rare, will be offered. Due to the limited availability, the accommodation package precedes the hotel's online sales. (*Online sales start on December 1 with domestic shipping only.)

The travel-themed accommodation package ensures their stay in their room gorgeously with a suitcase & a mini trunk, welcome sweets and British sparkling wine selected by the hotel's sommelier. On a hotel tour, the staff will invite guests into the world of heritage that has been passed down for more than 100 years. Moreover, guests have graceful experiences that are only possible in the hotel including an award-winning breakfast buffet.

Everyone who has booked the accommodation package will have the privilege of receiving an original card case. The card case, the design of which looks exactly like that of the suitcase, can be used alternatively as a jewelry case or an accessory pouch.

The Tokyo Station Hotel announced on July 18 that the hotel is welcoming room reservations now in preparation for the historic hotel's grand reopening scheduled for October 3 (Wednesday), 2012.

The hotel offers 150 guest rooms in its facility inside the Tokyo Station Marunouchi Building, designated as an Important Cultural Asset of Japan. The Tokyo Station Hotel, in its restored brick Gothic building, boasts of its prime location literally a few steps away from all major trains, including the Shinkansen Bullet Train, and has the Imperial Palace at a short distance. The hotel features rooms with high ceilings and tall graceful windows. Guests will be delighted to experience its classic, sophisticated atmosphere and its historical significance. The interior, designed by the remarkable British interior design firm Richmond International Ltd., combines European classicism and modernism to create an elegant and sophisticated space.

The hotel offers six types of very unique guest rooms. "Classic" rooms are positioned opposite to the Imperial Palace ground and designed with added functionality. "Palace Side" rooms are positioned on the Imperial Palace side overlooking the Marunouchi business area. "Dome Side" rooms are laid out alongside the domed roof from north to south, while "Maisonette" rooms offer a two-floor structure, which is rare to find in a hotel anywhere in Japan. "Suite" rooms are generously sized at over 72 square meters and are positioned in the tower section of the building. "Royal Suite," the most spacious room measuring 173 square meters, faces the Gyoko Street that leads to the Imperial Palace.

At the top-floor level of the Tokyo Station Marunouchi Building is the breakfast lounge "Atrium," exclusively available to guests staying at the hotel. The open space, with a ceiling height of approximately 9 meters, sets a perfect venue to enjoy breakfast with natural light beaming through its oversized windows.

The hotel is also ready to accept restaurant reservations for the French restaurant "Blanc Rouge" starting July 3 (Tuesday) from 10:00 a.m.
