◎創設１０周年を祝賀　　アフガン・ワイヤレス・コミュニケーション社

【カブール１０日PRN＝共同JBN】起業家で慈善家でもあるイーサノラー（イーサン）・バヤト氏によって創設されたアフガン・ワイヤレス・コミュニケーション社（Afghan Wireless Communication Company、AWCC）は、世界とアフガニスタンの最も遠隔地の人々とをつなぐ重要な無線電話通信サービスを１０年間にわたり提供してきたことを祝う。

創設者のイーサン・バヤト最高経営責任者（CEO）は、アフガニスタン人を支援するという強い要望に基づき、アフガニスタンで携帯電話サービスの提供を初めて開始するにあたり、流通の障害、政治の不安定、身の危険、信頼できない電力供給などの課題を克服し、アフガン・ワイヤレスを率いてきた。バヤトCEOが最初に果たすべき使命としたのは、アフガン・ワイヤレスが登場するまでは、いかなる種類の電話も保有することができず、数少ない公衆電話センターで電話をかける際、時には数時間という長い待ち時間に甘んじるしかなかったアフガニスタン人にサービス提供することであった。

２００２年４月６日、AWCCの最初のネットワーク機器がアフガニスタンに到着してほんの７週間しか経過していなかったが、ハミド・カルザイ大統領はアフガン・ワイヤレスGSMネットワークを開所して、ドイツへ国際電話をかけた。そして、１０年以上が経過した今、アフガン・ワイヤレスとイーサン・バヤト氏はアフガニスタンにおいて最新の通信産業とサービス態勢の構築を祝うことを誇りにしている。
