【サンラモン（米カリフォルニア州）2012年8月6日PRN＝共同JBN】オープンソースの車載インフォテインメント（IVI、In-vehicle Infotainment）のリファレンス・プラットフォーム開発と導入を推進する自動車および家電業界団体であるGENIVI Allianceは6日、9月19-20日に英国のゲイドンにあるHeritage Motor Centre（ヘリテージモーターセンター）で開かれるリナックスファンデーションのAutomotive Linux Summitの主要な引受スポンサーになると発表した。

Linux（リナックス）の発展を加速することに注力している非営利団体のリナックスファンデーションが主催する第2回年次Automotive Linux Summitは、自動車システムエンジニア、Linux専門家、R&Dマネジャー、オープンソース・ライセンシング＆コンプライアンス専門家、コミュニティーデベロッパーなど、自動車業界とオープンソース・コミュニティーから最も革新的な頭脳の持ち主が参集する。

GENIVI Alliance会長でデルファイ・エレクトロニクス&セーフティーのAdvanced Infotainment & Driver Interface担当チーフエンジニアであるダグ・ウェルク氏は「われわれはAutomotive Linux Summitで、リナックスファンデーションと協力することに興奮している。われわれの協力関係は、自動車産業によるLinuxおよびオープンソース・ソフトウエアの採用に向けた相互のコミットメントに関する強力なメッセージを送る」と語った。

1日限りのサミットには350人を上回る専門家が集まる見込みで、オープンソース・コミュニティー専門家による7つの基調講演が予定されている。

リナックスファンデーションのジム・ゼムリン理事長は「GENIVI AllianceがAutomotive Linux Summitのスポンサーになったことは、GENIVIとリナックスファンデーションとの間の協調関係の新たな例証であり、自動車産業におけるLinuxとオープンソースの採用を進め、支援するものである」と語った。

GENIVI副社長でジャガー・ランドローバーのNext Generation Infotainment Systems担当技術責任者のマット・ジョーンズ氏は、GENIVIとジャガー・ランドローバーを代表して「Linuxベース車載インフォテインメント・システムを実現する」との基調講演を行う。

全体会議ではさらに、GENIVIのSystem Architectureチーム責任者でソフトウエア設計者のパベル・コノペルコ氏が「GENIVIのCompliance Programの実行」と題する講演がある。

    The GENIVI Alliance, an automotive and consumer electronics industry

association driving the development and adoption of an open In-vehicle

Infotainment (IVI) reference platform, today announced it will be a major

underwriting sponsor for The Linux Foundation's Automotive Linux Summit to be

held at the Heritage Motor Centre in Gaydon, England on September 19-20, 2012.

    Produced by The Linux Foundation, the nonprofit organization dedicated to

accelerating the growth of Linux, the 2nd annual Automotive Linux Summit will

bring together the most innovative minds from the automotive industry and

open-source community, including automotive systems engineers, Linux experts,

R&D managers, open-source licensing and compliance specialists and community

developers.

"Realizing a Linux-Based In-Vehicle Infotainment System" on behalf of GENIVI

and Jaguar Land Rover.  

    Also presenting a plenary address titled "Implementing GENIVI's Compliance

Program" will be Pavel Konopelko, Lead of GENIVI's System Architecture Team and

software architect, Visteon Corporation.
