【ロンドン2013年7月25日PRN=共同JBN】2013年9月25－26日に東京で開かれる初のコールトランス東アジア交流フォーラム（Coaltrans East Asia Networking Forum）で提起される問題は（1）日本および韓国にはどのような石炭需要があるか?（2）近い将来に石炭火力発電所の開発がさらに進む見通しは?（3）真のビジネスチャンスはどこにあるか?－などとなる。

日本では現在、50基の原子炉のうち2基だけが稼働中である。しかし、今月初旬に発表された新しい安全審査基準に照らして、少なくとも12基の原子炉が近い将来に再稼働する可能性がある。Coaltrans Conferences Ltd.の会議担当マネジャーであるルイザ・プラット氏は「石炭火力発電所は日本では現在、ベース負荷を提供するため最大容量で稼働中である。多くの原子炉を再稼働することは、日本が今後の電力需要の必要条件にどのように対応しようとしているかという問題を提起している」と語った。

初日の朝は資源エネルギー庁石炭課の安居徹課長、環境省地球環境局低炭素社会推進室の土居健太郎室長が基調講演し、日本政府の当面のエネルギー政策の概要と今後に向けてどのように開発を進めるかを説明する。サーマルと原料炭バイヤーである中部電力、北海道電力、北陸電力、Hyundai Steel、電源開発、関西電力、神戸製鋼、新日鐵住友金、日新鋼などの参加がこれまでに確認され、日本と韓国に輸入される石炭の量と質を決定する主だった政策決定者とともに生産者と取引業者の中に加わる。

Major Japanese Coal Buyers Set to Meet International Coal Producers at the Coaltrans East Asia Networking Forum

Above are just some of the questions that will be posed at the inaugural

Coaltrans East Asia Networking Forum in Tokyo on 25 - 26 September 2013.

Currently just two of Japan's fifty nuclear reactors are in operation. However,

in light of the new safety regulations that were introduced earlier this month,

it is possible that at least twelve more reactors are likely to be restarted in

the near future. "Coal fired power plants are currently running at maximum

capacity to provide the base load for Japan. The restarting of a number of

nuclear reactors raises the question of how the country expects to meet its

power demand requirements moving forward," said Louisa Pratt, Conference

Keynote presentations from Akira Yasui, Director, Coal Division, Agency for

Natural Resources and Energy at the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry,

Government of Japan and Kentaro Doi, Director of Low-Carbon Society Promotion

Government of Japan on the morning of Day One will deliver an overview of the

Government's current energy policy and how they intend to develop it moving

forward.
