Istanbul.

The event co-located with P-MEC, InnoPack and ICSE, providing an unrivalled
meeting point for bringing together senior pharma professionals and
international pharmaceutical suppliers and buyers of pharma raw materials,
machinery, packaging solutions and contract services.
Strategically partnered with the Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association
of Turkey (IEIS [http://www.ieis.org.tr/asp_pages/index.asp ]), CPhI Istanbul
attracted over 4,000 attendees, both local and international.
The Official CPhI Istanbul Conference was a great success. The Conference
room was fully packed with delegates and press who listened to prominent
speakers of the Opening Keynote Theatre. Key trends in the Turkish
pharmaceutical market were discussed by thought leaders of the industry such as
Turgut Tokgoz, Secretary General of IEIS and Dr.Saim Kerman, President of the
Turkey Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Agency. This year's focus covered
opportunities for generics, supergenerics, biosimilars and establishing
Turkey as the manufacturing hub of the region. The conference also included
updates on the Middle East & North Africa market and the Russia, CIS and
emerging markets.
CPhI Istanbul concluded with an overview of API sourcing strategies and
successfull technology transfers to CMO partners. The quality of the
presentations and sessions was extremely high, with positive feedback already
received from industry delegates and visitors- having enhanced their experience
on site with essential local knowledge and meeting future partners.
Hande Yilmaz, Marketing Manager, UBM Istanbul, commented: "As the seventh
largest market in Europe, and 16th largest globally, Turkey is firmly placed on
the pharmaceutical map. More and more companies are looking to break into what
is a dynamic and reforming market and CPhI Istanbul provides the essential
platform to facilitate this. The event successfully brought together both
domestic and international buyers and suppliers and has, undoubtedly,
contributed to the continued expansion of one of the fastest growing regions of
the pharmaceutical industry. I very much look forward to returning for next
year's event to provide an even bigger edition, particularly as the next few
years are predicted to be a very exciting time for the Turkish pharma market."
The main sponsor of the International CPhI Istanbul 2014 event is Deva
Ilac. The event is organized with the support of the Ministry of Health and the
Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association (IEIS). World Medicine, Infa Group,
Oceanic Pharmachem, Kocak Farma, Pharmactive, Nobel, Mustafa Nevzat, Helba and
Santa Farma are the corporate sponsors of the event.
The entrance fee collected during the show (from those visitors who did not
pre-register) has been donated to the families of the Turkish citizens who died
