The secretariat of the Osaka Marathon Organizing Committee calls for entries for "Reporters on the Run" covering the Osaka Marathon 2014 to be held on Sunday Oct. 26, 2014, while running side by side with marathon runners.

The organizers are hoping that "Reporters on the Run" should be able to describe the marathon race through the eyes of a runner, making readers feel as if they were also running.

Reporters will have to file an application form in advance and pay fees. An application will be accepted on the condition that an article resulting from the practice gets published. They are also encouraged to use SNS and other postings to report on their experience.

The secretariat will review reporters application based on the outlines of application as stated below and determine for and against.

Interested reporters are urged to apply for "Reporters on the Run" for the Osaka Marathon 2014.

The outlines of application for "Reporters on the Run"

1. Events

Osaka Marathon 2014 or Challenge Run (8.8km)

2. Time and Date

Start at 9:00 Sunday Oct. 26, 2014

3. Quotas

50 persons (the max. 2 persons per company). Accompanying runner is not allowed.

* A first come, first served basis

4. Fees

10,000 yen for Osaka Marathon, 5,000 yen for Challenge Run

*In addition to entry fees, a charity donation of the min. 2 shares, 500 yen per share, is payable. Also, 500 is payable for the secretariat's handling fees.

5. Conditions for application

Max. 2 persons can apply for each press organization, foreign or domestic, based in Japan. It is

imperative that a report on one of the events gets published.

- Please submit an article publication plan when filing an application form which will be duly examined and determined for and against by the secretariat of the Osaka Marathon 2014 Organizing Committee.

- Please send us a voucher copy or otherwise let us know later about the publication of your article.

* The secretariat will not accept any application considered to be instrumental in promoting any company competing against any of the events' sponsors.

* Freelance journalists and photographers will have to apply under the name of a press organization that promises to publish their work.

* Video recording is not allowed.

* Taking photos in any area outside the designated press areas will have to be applied in advance. The secretariat will contact you later about for and against.

* The secondary use of photos is not allowed.

6. Method for filing application

Download an application form from the press section of the official website, fill in, and send it together with an article publication plan to the secretariat by post.

Please make sure to firm up on the running reporter(s) who cannot be changed after application.

* Downloading the application form requires ID and password. Please refer to an appendix.

* For basic instructions, please refer to the application guidelines for members of the public that is also applicable on reporters.

7. Application period (Adhere to the designated dates)

From Saturday July 5 to 17:00 Thursday July 31, 2014.

* Application will be closed upon reaching capacity.

8. Others

- On the Osaka Marathon or Challenge Run course, "Reporters on the Run" will be treated in ways no different than the general runners.

* Please be advised that the 7-color charity T-shirts, the application for which has already been closed, can no longer be purchased.

* Details for payment and registration will be notified upon filing the entry application.
