Martin, currently senior vice president, Manufacturing, Supply Chain Management

and Purchasing, Nissan North America, Inc. replaces Olive, who will be leading

a mission to establish an Alliance Institute aiming at developing skills and

mindsets necessary for the sustainable performance of the Alliance. Olive next

assignment will be announced at a later time. For this mission, Olive will

report his conclusions to Carlos Ghosn, Chairman and CEO of the Renault-Nissan

Alliance.

In his new position, Martin will be in charge of further accelerating

integration within the function and increasing the synergies. The Alliance

Manufacturing Engineering & Supply Chain Management function is one of four key

converged functions. The others are Purchasing, Engineering and Human

Resources, which were also set up on April 1, 2014.

The converged functions were created to accelerate efficiency and synergies

across the Alliance. The value of annualized synergies realized by the

Renault-Nissan Alliance rose to €5 billion in 2016, up from €4.3 billion in

2015. Converged operations in purchasing, engineering and manufacturing

contributed most of the €700 million synergy improvement.
