Japanese multinational has been operating in region for years

Investing in the southern Italian region of Calabria is possible, including at high levels.

An example is NTT Data, a Japanese multinational which has been present in the region for years with excellent results.

The seminar 'Investing in Calabria: NTT Data's Experience and Key Success Factors for Businesses' is part of the Italy Pavilion's weekly events at Expo 2025 Osaka which currently have the southern region as a protagonist.

The seminar also sees the participation of the Business and Made in Italy Ministry, the Coordinator of the Single ZES and the University of Calabria.

'Calabria: Italy's point' is the claim that pursues the objective of bringing to Japan a story mixing the deep roots and future vision of a territory that has always acted as a bridge between civilizations and represents today a laboratory for sustainable innovation.

The itinerary includes three parts: tradition, identity, future.

The Welcome Door, a large tapestry-map, welcomes visitors by showcasing the history of Calabria's connections with the rest of the world and with Japan.

The Arcades of Know-how include an installation with eight large trunks made of regional woods featuring Calabria's artisanal excellence including knives, jewels, pottery, fabrics, fashion, food products and fragrances.

Future Heritage is an immersive and multisensorial space inspired by a temple of time and nature.

Columns as well as aroma and sound installations showcase iconic representations (like the Riace Bronzes, the Codex Purpureus Rossanensis or the Romito Cave) and future scenarios created thanks to artificial intelligence.

Calabria thus eyes 2050 with visions embracing quality of life, innovation and the regeneration of small villages.

And it also projects itself as a connected region aiming to become part of global circuits thanks to material infrastructures - such as ports, airports and railways - as well as digital ones able to support the development of a 4.0 economy.

On April 23, the appointment 'The Daily Ceremony of Food: The Kagome Experience and Calabria's Culinary Excellence' will be dedicated to the agri-food system with the testimony of companies like Kagome and Vegitalia.

On April 24, the seminary 'Calabria as an example of urban development and small villages through culture' will place at the centre cultural heritage as a driving force for the regeneration of territories, with experts and protagonists who will also discuss the experiences of projects like Gerace Porta del Sole and Antica Kroton.

Daily musical events have also been scheduled to make the Japanese public more closely acquainted with Calabria's contemporary culture.
