2015年上半期のウィーンの観光客宿泊数が5.4%増の630万泊で新記録

【ウィーン2015年7月23日PRN＝共同通信JBN】ウィーンは2015年1－6月の来訪宿泊者数が前年同期比で約5.4%増の史上最高記録630万人を記録した。

ウィーン観光局のノルベルト・ケットナー局長によると「ウィーンは2015年前半に来訪宿泊者が5.4%増の約633万人に達し、観光客に対する魅力を示した」と語った。2015年前半のウィーン来訪宿泊者の国別トップ10はドイツが延べ128万3000泊（前年同期比6%増）、以下オーストリア（同124万3000泊、同7%増）、米国（同34万8000泊、同9%増）、イタリア（同32万8000泊、同13%増）、英国（同23万7000泊、同11%増）の順だった。

6位から10位はロシア（同21万7000泊、同32%減）、スイス（同20万9000泊、同12%増）、フランス（同16万5000泊、同2%減）、スペイン（同15万6000泊、同16%増）、日本（12万7000泊、同2%減）だった。また2014年に比べてウィーン観光が特に大きな成長を示したのは韓国（同8万6000泊、同29%増）、セルビア（同7万9000泊、同25%増）、トルコ（同7万1000泊、同28%増）、インド（同4万泊、同41%増）台湾（3万6000泊、同57%増）だった。ウィーンのホテルのベッド数が2014年6月から2015年6月までの間に3700ベッド増の63800ベッドに増加したにもかかわらず、客室利用率は同期間中に65%から66%に上昇しただけだった。

ケットナー局長は「外国人の宿泊がウィーンの宿泊受け入れ能力全体の80%以上を占めている。これはウィーンの継続的な魅力を反映しているだけではなく、多くの異なる市場に多角化するというわれわれの系統的な国際化戦略の成功も示している」と説明している。同局長の現在の目標はウィーンの宿泊数を2020年までに1800万に増やすことである。ウィーンは会議の町としても同様に成功しており、国際会議協会（ICCA）は2014年にオーストリアの首都ウィーンを世界で2番目に国際会議に向いている都市に格付けした。

Vienna: Record Overnight Figures for First Half of 2015

New all-time record: Vienna registered around 6.3 million visitor overnights

between January and June 2015 - about 5.4% more than for the same period the

previous year.

"Vienna demonstrated its tourist attraction in the first half of 2015 with an

increase of 5.4% to some 6,330,000 visitor overnights," according to Norbert

Kettner, the Vienna Tourist Board's Director. Vienna's ten top markets in the

first half of 2015 were Germany with 1,283,000 bednights (+6% on the same

period the previous year), followed by Austria (1,243,000, +7%), the USA

(348,000, +9%), Italy (328,000, +13%), and the United Kingdom (237,000, +11%).

Places 6 to 10 were taken by Russia (217,000, -32%), Switzerland (209,000,

+12%), France (165,000, -2%), Spain (156,000, +16%) and Japan (127,000, -2%).

Vienna also reported particularly strong growth compared to 2014 from South

Korea (86,000 overnights, +29%), Serbia (79,000, +25%), Turkey (71,000, +28%),

India (40,000, +41%) and Taiwan (36,000, +57%). Despite the expansion of

Vienna's hotel accommodation between June 2014 and June 2015 - an increase of

3,700 to 63,800 beds - room occupancy rose from 65% to 66% over the same period.

"International overnights account for more than 80% of Vienna's total volume of

overnights. This not only reflects Vienna's continued attractiveness, but also

shows that our systematic internationalization strategy of diversifying into

many different markets is paying off," explains Kettner. His objective now is

to increase Vienna's overnights to 18 million by the year 2020. Vienna has been

equally successful as a congress metropolis: the International Congress and

Convention Association (ICCA) ranked the Austrian capital in second place

worldwide for its international congresses in 2014.
