【シンガポール2012年10月27日PRN＝共同JBN】ヘレウス・シンガポールにメディカル・コンポーネント部門（Medical Component Division）、成長する東南アジアの医療機器群－。
ヘレウス社（Heraeus）はこのほど、メディカル・コンポーネント部門の拡充を支えるため、新たなシンガポール施設の開設を発表した。シンガポール拡張は医療機器産業向けの材料、部品の研究開発と生産を主眼としている。これによりヘレウスのアジア展開は、20以上の製造施設に及ぶことになる。

ヘレウス・メディカル・コンポーネント部門のプレジデントであるニコラス・グッゲンハイム博士によると、シンガポールがアジアの医療材料開発・生産センターに選ばれたのは、いくつもの理由がある。
博士は「ヘレウスは顧客に寄り添う長い伝統があり、主要な不整脈治療分野（Cardiac Rhythm Management＝CRM）の顧客が近年、医療機器製造施設を東南アジアに移転するよう望む強い動きがあった。地元始動に対する旺盛なアジア投資、アジアの医療機器企業成長の強力な基盤が、企業とイノベーションの力強い混合を助長している」と語る。

ヘレウス・メディカル・コンポーネントの海外事業本部を担当するマーク・ケンプ上級副社長は「メディカル・コンポーネント部門はヘレウス・シンガポールの既存インフラを活用できるため、極めて幸運でもある。インフラには、すでに医療関連の上得意客多数が認めている世界有数のボンディングワイヤ設備が含まれている。シンガポール政府の力強い指導と支援を得て、ヘレウス・メディカル・コンポーネントは迅速かつ効率的に新開発生産センターを立ち上げることができた」と話した。ケンプ副社長はシンガポールのゼネラルマネジャーに任命され、シンガポールに異動した。

- Heraeus Singapore to include Medical Components Division

Heraeus announces the opening of a new Singapore facility to support
expansion of their Medical Components Division. This Singapore expansion is
focused on R&D and production of Materials and Components for the medical
device industry. This facility will increase Heraeus' presence in Asia to more
than 20 manufacturing facilities.

According to Dr. Nicolas Guggenheim, President of Heraeus' Medical
Components Division, Singapore was selected as the new Medical Materials
Development and Production Center in Asia for a number of reasons:

has been a strong movement in the last few years by our major Cardiac Rhythm
Management customers to relocate their medical device manufacturing to
Southeast Asia. With the strong Asian investment in local startups, a strong
