【台北、クパティーノ（米カリフォルニア州）2012年11月11日】台湾の携帯機器メーカーHTCとアップル（Apple）両社はこのほど、係争中のすべての(特許侵害）訴訟の棄却および新たに今後10年間の両社の（特許）ライセンス契約を含めて世界的に和解に達した。このライセンスは両社が保有す現在および将来の特許に及ぶ。和解条件は明らかにされない。

HTCのピーター・チョウ最高経営責任者（CEO）は「HTCはアップル社との紛争が解決して喜んでおり、その結果訴訟に代わってイノベーションに注力することになる」と語った。

アップルのティム・クックCEOは「HTCと和解に達して喜ばしい。当社は引き続き革新的な製品の開発に一点集中する」と語った。

HTC and Apple Settle Patent Dispute

TAIPEI, Taiwan and CUPERTINO, Calif., Nov. 11, 2012 /PRN=KYODO JBN/ --

             All Patent Litigation Between The Companies Dismissed

    HTC and Apple have reached a global settlement that includes the dismissal

of all current lawsuits and a ten-year license agreement. The license extends

to current and future patents held by both parties. The terms of the settlement

are confidential.

    "HTC is pleased to have resolved its dispute with Apple, so HTC can focus

on innovation instead of litigation," said Peter Chou, CEO of HTC.

    "We are glad to have reached a settlement with HTC," said Tim Cook, CEO of

Apple. "We will continue to stay laser focused on product innovation."
