【ニューヨーク2014年3月18日PRN＝共同JBN】KPMG International （KPMGI）は18日、同社ネットワークのグローバル取締役会がジョン・B・ビーメヤー（John B. Veihmeyer）氏をグローバル会長として承認したと発表した。ビーメヤー氏は2月27日、同日付でKPMG International取締役会の全員一致で選任されていた。

KPMG米国法人でキャリアをスタートしたビーメヤー新会長は「グローバルにKPMGを率いる機会を得て誇りに思っている。品質とプロフェッショナリズムにおいて世界的名声をさらに強化することに傾注し、また仕事の場としてキャリアを積むのに世界最高の場のひとつというステータスを強化することに尽力する考えである。現在はKPMGにとって好機である。当社のグローバルネットワークはダイナミックな市場に対応し、資本市場システムで当社の役目を達成するための好位置にある」と語った。

ビーメヤー氏は2010年以降、KPMG米国法人の会長兼最高経営責任者（CEO）を務めており、グローバル会長としてもこの職務を継続する。氏は引き続きニューヨークにとどまる。ビーメヤー氏はこれまでKPMGでさまざまなリーダーシップを発揮しており、以下の役職を経験している。KPMGグローバル経営陣メンバー、南北アメリカ地域の会長、米国法人副会長、KPMGワシントンD.C.事業マネジングパートナー、リスク管理・規制担当グローバル責任者。

ビーメヤー氏はノートルダム大学の卒業生で、妻と一緒に米メリーランド州に住んでいる。彼には3人の成人した子どもがいる。

John B. Veihmeyer Confirmed as Global Chairman of KPMG

NEW YORK, March 18, 2014 /PRN=KYODO JBN/ --

    KPMG International (KPMGI) announced today that John B. Veihmeyer's

selection as Global Chairman was ratified by the firm's Global Council.

Veihmeyer, who was the unanimous choice of KPMG International's Global Board on

February 27, assumes the role effective immediately.

    "I am proud to have the opportunity to lead KPMG globally," said Veihmeyer

who began his career with KPMG in the U.S. "My focus will be to continue to

strengthen our global reputation for quality and professionalism, as well as

our status as one of the world's great places to work and build a career. This

to a dynamic marketplace, and to fulfill our role in the capital markets

system."

    Veihmeyer has served as Chairman and CEO of KPMG's firm in the U.S. since

2010 and will continue in those roles as Global Chairman. He will continue to

be based in New York. He has previously held numerous other leadership roles at

KPMG, including as a member of KPMG's global executive team; Chairman of the

Americas region; Deputy U.S. Chairman; managing partner of KPMG's Washington,

D.C. operations; and Global Head of Risk Management and Regulatory.

    Veihmeyer is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame, and lives with his

wife in Maryland. He has three grown children.
