The Kobe Marathon Committee announced on May 11 that it is accepting applications until May 26 for the 5th Kobe Marathon to be held on November 15.

The concept of the Kobe Marathon is "Thanks and Friendship" and it is one of the biggest Japanese marathon races in Kobe, Hyogo Prefecture, that has recovered from the 1995 Great Hanshin Earthquake. The 5th marathon is a landmark event for taking us toward a future in which the Kobe Marathon will evolve into a unique urban citizen marathon.

Connecting "person and person," "present and future," "culture and culture," "city and city," it will convey the spirit of "thank you" to the next generation.

The landscape along the course is nice because it is surrounded by the mountains and the sea, and also there is the Akashi-Kaikyo Ohashi Bridge, which is the world's longest suspension bridge, at the turn-around point.

Kobe is very famous for "Kobe beef" and "Kobe sweets." Its trade with foreign countries has been active as a beautiful port city for centuries.

Kobe city is located near Osaka and Kyoto, so it is convenient for sightseeing before and after the Kobe Marathon.
