The Japan Management Association (JMA, President: Masami Nakamura) will host HCJ2025, one of Japan’s largest B-to-B exhibitions for the hospitality and food service industries, over four days from February 4 (Tue) to 7 (Fri), 2025, at Tokyo Big Sight in Ariake, Tokyo.

In 2024, the number of international visitors to Japan surpassed the previous record set in 2019 before the pandemic.

While government policies aimed at establishing Japan as a leading tourism destination are yielding positive results, the hospitality and food service industries continue to face significant challenges, including severe labor shortages, low productivity, high turnover rates, and thin profit margins.

HCJ2025 aims to help the service industry respond effectively to the government-driven inbound tourism boom, positioning Japan as a top global destination. Under the theme "Solving Labor Shortages and Innovating Hospitality," the exhibition will feature 850 companies and 2,300 booths showcasing the latest solutions. Additionally, the event will offer business matchmaking opportunities and insightful seminars, fostering the exchange of people, goods, and information to drive innovation and address industry challenges.

“Next Leaders’ Vision for the Hospitality Industry”！

Research presentations from an educational program designed for next-generation leaders in hospitality, including accommodation and bridal industries. Organized by JMA, the program was held in Tokyo, Osaka, Fukuoka, and Sapporo. Participants will showcase their innovative ideas and solutions at HCJ2025.

As Japan’s inbound tourism grows, the hospitality industry faces issues such as labor shortages, high turnover, and long working hours. To address these challenges, participants engaged in collaborative discussions across company boundaries, combining diverse knowledge and experience, with guidance from scholars and industry experts. Associate Professor, Faculty of International Tourism, Toyo University

Graduate of Sophia University, MA in Commerce from Waseda University.

Expertise in hospitality theory, hotel and bridal management.

Advisor to multiple hospitality organizations and author of numerous books and academic papers, including Hospitality Design Theory and Hotel Business Overview.
