"ANIME TOKYO NIGHT" -Lit up Ikebukuro's Nights Captivating the hearts of Japanese and International Guests, ANIME TOKYO NIGHTS Wrapped up with a Great Success!

The projection mapping event "ANIME TOKYO NIGHT," themed around anime works, was held over nine days from March 15 to March 23, 2025, at Naka-Ikebukuro Park. The event attracted numerous anime fans daily and concluded with a great success.

The event kicked off with an opening ceremony featuring actress Ichika Osaki, comedian Sunshine Ikezaki, and voice actress Yurie Igoma. Following this, the stunning projection mapping displays showcased iconic scenes from popular anime, including "WIND BREAKER," "【Oshi no Ko】," "Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End," and "Dandadan."

During the event, stunning projection mapping illuminated the night sky of Ikebukuro, bringing iconic anime scenes to life through a mesmerizing fusion of light and sound. In "WIND BREAKER," the action sequences were so dynamic that it felt as though the punches were flying out of the screen, drawing thunderous cheers from the audience. The live concert scene in"【Oshi no Ko】" was crafted with such realism that it gave the illusion of an idol performing right before the spectators, leaving many visibly moved.

"Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End" was also brought to life with delicate, breathtaking visuals, further enhancing its fantasy world and immersing viewers in Frieren’s journey.

"Dandadan" blended supernatural horror and high-speed action, creating an intense, otherworldly experience that overwhelmed and captivated the audience.

This event was not only enjoyed by anime fans in Japan but also attracted many international visitors. Through "ANIME TOKYO NIGHT," we were able to share the appeal of anime culture with a broader audience while also rediscovering the unique charm of Ikebukuro.

Serialized in "Weekly Shonen Sunday" by Shogakukan, Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End is a manga series written by Kanehito Yamada and illustrated by Tsukasa Abe.

Set in a world ”after” the Demon King’s defeat by the hero’s party, the story follows Frieren, an immortal mage who fought alongside the hero, as she embarks on a new journey, encountering new people along the way.

The first season of the TV anime aired from September 2023 to March 2024, and now the long-awaited second season will air in Japan from January 2026 on Nippon Television Network System.
