◎インドで幼児の下痢性疾患死の根絶運動を支援　　インフォシス

【バンガロール（インド）2012年8月22日PRN＝共同JBN】世界的なコンサルティングとテクノロジー大手、インフォシス（Infosys）は22日、India Public-Private Partnership to End Child Diarrheal Deaths（幼児の下痢性疾患死の根絶を目指すインド官民パートナーシップ、以後「インド官民パートナーシップ」と表記）のイノベーション・パートナーとして、国連事務総長の「Every Woman Every Child」運動を支援するためにミレニアム開発目標ヘルスアライアンス（MDG Health Alliance）、国連基金、クリントン・ヘルス・アクセス・イニシアチブ（Clinton Health Access Initiative）と協力することを確約した。このプログラムに沿って、インフォシスの研究・イノベーション部門であるインフォシスラボ（Infosys Labs、http://www.infosys.com/infosys-labs/pages/index.aspx）は、Innovation Co-creation Labを設置し、テクノロジーが妊婦および幼児の深刻な健康問題を解決するための方策を模索する。

「Every Woman Every Child」は、国連事務総長が提唱したかつてない世界規模の運動で、女性と幼児の健康を向上させるために世界的行動を促進、強化する。インドでは、「インド官民パートナーシップ」は5歳以下の幼児が毎年20万人以上死亡するのを防止する目標を掲げ、「Every Woman Every Child」の取り組みをサポートしている。「インド官民パートナーシップ」によって、官民セクター関係者は2015年までに、インドの幼児全員を対象として水分補給用飲料（ORS）と亜鉛の経口摂取を実現し、下痢性疾患に伴う死亡を防止するための重要な役割を果たす。インフォシスは「インド官民パートナーシップ」のイノベーション・パートナーとして、MDGヘルスアライアンス、国連基金、クリントン・ヘルス・アクセス・イニシアチブと連携している。インフォシスが創設したInnovation Co-creation Labは、「インド官民パートナーシップ」のタスクフォース・メンバーを１カ所の共通フォーラムに結集させ、このフォーラムで「インド官民パートナーシップ」のための共同作業を組織、管理、支援するツール、プラットフォーム、フレームワーク、プロセスを提供する。

国連基金のキャシー・カルビン事務局長（CEO）は「インフォシスが女性と幼児の健康への取り組みを強化し、同社だけが保有する強みを生かしてインド最大の健康課題の一つを解決する支援に乗り出したことを称賛する」と語った。

インフォシスラボの副社長で責任者であるスブ・ゴパラジュ氏は「『インド官民パートナーシップ』は大きな影響力があり、下痢に起因する児童死亡を減少させる可能性を秘めている。テクノロジーは、このイニシアチブに関与するさまざまな関係者の協力関係を実現、強化するうえで大きな役割を果たすとともに、安価なヘルスケア・ソリューション開発に寄与することができる。インフォシスはこのイニシアチブにコミットし、このイニシアチブのための安価なヘルスケア・ソリューション開発を目指す合同イノベーション推進のプラットフォームを提供する」と語った。

MDGヘルスアライアンス議長で国連事務総長特使（マラリア担当）であるレイ・チェンバーズ氏は「出産に伴い世界で最も多数の女性が死亡し、最多数の子どもが5歳になるまでに死亡しているインドで大きな進展ができなければ、われわれは妊産婦と幼児の健康の世界目標を達成できない」と語った。

同氏はまた「インドで幼児が死亡する最大原因の一つである下痢との戦いに勝利するために、インフォシスがコミットしてくれたことを特に歓迎する。インドの有力企業の一つが持つ素晴らしいスキル、人材、創造性を活用し、幼児の下痢性疾患死亡の90%を防止することができる診療（経口水分補給用飲料と亜鉛）を拡大したい」と語った。

Infosys Commits to End Child Diarrheal Deaths in India

Infosys Labs to Solve Critical Maternal and Child Health Challenges, in Support

of the UN Secretary-General's Every Woman Every Child Movement

Infosys, a global leader in consulting and technology, today announced that it

has made a commitment to work with the MDG Health Alliance, the United Nations

Foundation, and the Clinton Health Access Initiative as an Innovation Partner

for the India Public-Private Partnership to End Child Diarrheal Deaths, in

support of the United Nations Secretary-General's Every Woman Every Child

movement. Under this program Infosys Labs

innovation arm of Infosys, will institute an Innovation Co-creation Lab to

explore ways that technology can be used to solve critical maternal and child

health challenges.

Every Woman Every Child is an unprecedented global movement spearheaded by the

UN Secretary-General to mobilize and intensify global action to improve the

health of women and children. In India, the effort is supported by the India

Public-Private Partnership to End Child Diarrheal Deaths, with a vision to

prevent deaths of more than 200,000 children under five years of age every

year. This partnership will mobilize public and private sector stakeholders to

achieve universal coverage of children in India through the intervention of

oral rehydration solution (ORS) and zinc by 2015, thereby playing a critical

role in preventing diarrheal deaths.

As Innovation Partner for the India Public-Private Partnership to End Child

Diarrheal Deaths, Infosys is collaborating with the MDG Health Alliance, United

Nations Foundation and the Clinton Health Access Initiative. The Innovation

Co-creation Lab created by Infosys will facilitate the convergence of the

initiative's task force members onto a common forum offering tools, platforms,

frameworks and processes to organize, manage and assist the co-creational

interactions specific to this partnership.
