◎オーストラリア最大州の副首相が来日　貿易・投資の促進

【東京2012年11月30日AAPメディアネット・インターナショナル＝共同JBN】オーストラリア最大の州であるニューサウスウェールズ（NSW）州のアンドリュー・ストーナー（Andrew Stoner）副首相が12月2日から5日まで東京を訪問する。2極間貿易と投資の促進が目的。

ストーナー州副首相は州貿易投資相も兼務しており、日本の経済界と政府要人との間でオーストラリア最大の経済規模を有する同州やシドニーにおける可能性について話し合う機会を得られることを歓迎する、と以下のように語った。

「NSWと日本は長年パートナーであり、友人同士だった。人と人との間でもビジネスでも強い関係を共有している」

「日本はNSW州にとって3番目に大きな貿易パートナーであり、双方向の商品貿易は2011年から12年にかけては総額170億ドルに達した」

「日本はまたオーストラリアにとって3番目に大きい投資国であり、2010年末現在で1180億ドルの投資残高があった」

「日本からの直接投資は、多くのオーストラリアの輸出産業の発展にとって極めて重要であり、鉄鉱石や石炭など日本の資源需要を満たす輸出の成長を押し進めてきた」

「私のメッセージは、NSWがこうした国際的ビジネスを歓迎しているということであり、NSW州政府は自分たちの州が、単にオーストラリアでナンバーワンになることを目指しているのではなくて、アジア太平洋地域でトップクラスの経済単位になるよう努めている」

「わたしはNSWと日本とのビジネスを成長させる数多くの機会が存在していると信じる」

「東京滞在中、わたしは日本の経済界のリーダーたちと会見する予定でいる。三菱東京UFJ銀行、伊藤忠商事、野村証券の幹部らが含まれる」

「わたしは銀行や金融サービス企業に対してシドニーでのプレゼンスを拡大するよう、またNSWへの投資を、社会基盤整備を含めて促進するよう訴える」

ストーナー州副首相は、オーストラリアヘルスケア産業の訪日ミッションの共同団長としての役割も果たす。同ミッションは日豪経済協力委員会が組織した。

「このミッションはビジネスパートナーシップの可能性を開拓する重要な機会になる。日本とオーストラリアのヘルスケア産業は高齢化社会や保険コストの増大など同じような問題に直面しているからだ」

   The Deputy Premier of Australia's leading State - New South Wales (NSW) - Mr

Andrew Stoner, is visiting Tokyo on December 2-5 to promote bilateral trade and

investment opportunities.

   Mr Stoner, who is also Minister for Trade and Investment for NSW, said he

welcomed the opportunity to discuss with Japanese business and government

leaders the many strong opportunities available in Sydney and NSW, which has

the largest State economy in Australia.

   "NSW and Japan have been partners and friends for many years and we share

strong people-to-people ties and business links," Mr Stoner said.

   "Japan is NSW's third largest trading partner, with two-way merchandise

trade valued at almost $17 billion in 2011-12.

   "Japan is also Australia's third-largest foreign investor, with an

investment stock of almost $118 billion at the end of 2010.

   "Japanese direct investment has been essential in the development of many

Australian export industries that have driven our export growth, including in

large-scale projects to meet Japanese demand for resources such as iron ore and

coal.

   "My message is that NSW welcomes this international business and that the

NSW Government is working to make our State not just number one in Australia,

but a leading business destination in the Asia Pacific.

   "I believe there are many more opportunities to grow bilateral business

between NSW and Japan.

   "While in Tokyo, I will be meeting senior business leaders from some of

Japan's major corporations including Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ, Itochu

Corporation and Nomura Securities.

   "I will encourage the banks and financial services companies to expand their

presence in Sydney, and promote investment in NSW, including in our

infrastructure projects."

   Mr Stoner is co-leader of the Australian Healthcare Industry Mission to

Japan which has been organised by the Australia Japan Business Co-operation

Committee.

   "The mission is an important opportunity to explore business partnership

opportunities because of the similarities in the Japanese and Australian

healthcare sectors such as aging populations and rising healthcare costs."
