【カブール３１日PRN＝共同JBN】アフガニスタンの有力通信会社で同国最大の民間雇用企業であるアフガン・ワイヤレス社（AWCC）は３１日、アフガニスタンで最も人気のあるポップシンガー、バリー・ヘジャシ（Valy Hedjasi、以後バリー）氏をブランド・アンバサダーに任命したと発表した。

バリー氏は７歳の時にアフガニスタンの伝統楽器の演奏を始め、彼のアルバム「アフター・ラブ」がリリースされ最初の２つのシングル曲「デラマ・シェクーンディ（Delama Shekoondi）」と「ビア・トゥ（Bia Tu)」で国際的に知られるようになった。３曲目のシングル「カタンガニ（Qatanghani）」も高い評価を得ている。バリー氏のコンサートやレコーディングはアフガニスタン国内だけでなく、世界中のアフガニスタン人の間で非常に人気がある。
