エネルギー管理、商用、家庭用アプリケーション向け無線ソリューション規格を策定するグローバルな標準化団体であるジグビー・アライアンス（ZigBee、登録商標）は20日、ZigBee Retail Services標準規格を完成、承認したと発表した。ZigBee Retail Servicesは今後、ジグビー会員企業が製品開発のために利用できる。ZigBee Retail Servicesは、オープンかつグローバルな標準規格で、簡単に実装できるため、小売業者はショッピング体験を刷新でき、カスタマーロイヤルティーの強化と店舗の運営効率の向上に活用できる。

ZigBee Retail Servicesは、小売業者と消費者の双方が利点を得られるように構築され、パーソナルショッピングアシスタントをはじめ、インテリジェントショッピングカート、電子棚札、資産追跡タグ、従業員顧客コンシェルジュなどのほか、ホームゲートウェーに至るまで、さまざまな最新デバイスをシームレスにネットワークするために威力を発揮する。ZigBee Retail Servicesによって、小売業者は、ショッピング、資産追跡、エネルギー管理、物品販売およびマーケティング、さらに薬剤サービスなど、複数のコンポーネントを単一のネットワークで店内環境に実装できるようになる。この総合的なアプローチによって、小売業者はコストの削減と効率の向上を実現できるだけでなく、顧客の購買行動に関する情報を取得し、サービスの改善に役立てることが可能になる。

    Created to benefit retailers and consumers alike, ZigBee Retail Services

reducing spoilage and spillage. The proven reliability and scalability of

ZigBee systems combined with the ability to integrate with other ZigBee

standards such as ZigBee Building Automation, ZigBee Light Link and ZigBee

Smart Energy further magnifies the benefits retailers can derive in terms of

operating costs and impact on the environment. Retailers can also take

advantage of standardization by combining devices from multiple suppliers into

a single network which easily integrates with back end systems.

    Development of this standard was led by industry leading retail and

wireless communications leaders including The Kroger Co., Philips, Schneider

Electric, Texas Instruments, AT&T, Exegin, Kinney Consulting, Nietzsche, San

Juan Software, STMicroelectronics, Telecom Italia, Ubilogix, V-Mark, and

Wincor-Nixdorf. The standard was validated by following ZigBee Alliance

processes with the assistance of independent test services organizations. The

testing process ensures compliance with the standard so that consumers can be

assured that all the ZigBee Retail Services compliant products will

interoperate, regardless of who builds them.
