【イエーテボリ（スウェーデン）2013年11月26日PRN＝共同JBN】Fingerprint Cards（FPC）は26日、Android用スマートフォン、タブレット向けに初めての容量性指紋認証タッチセンサーのFPC1020を発表した。FPC1020はスマートフォン、タブレットOEMメーカーにこれまでにない性能が提供できるように最適化されており、OEMメーカーはこれによって、ユーザーが認証のためPINコードやパスワードを使用する負担をなくすことが可能になる。FPC1020は1997年以来、FPC内で開発されてきたノウハウの蓄積や技術的リーダーシップ最大限に活用して開発された。15年におよぶ指紋認証タッチセンサー展開の経験がスマートフォン市場におけるFPCの市場リーダーシップと結び付き、FPC1080スワイプ・センサーはスマートフォン、タブレットに組み込まれ、その数は数千万台にどんどん近づいている。

FPC1020シリコンは数週間前にサンプル出荷されており、顧客向けのセンサーモジュール完成品のエンジニアリングサンプルの出荷は今後数週間以内に行われる予定である。

FPC Launches FPC1020, the World's First Touch Fingerprint Sensor for Android(TM) Mobile Devices

    Fingerprint Cards (FPC) today introduces the FPC1020, the world's first

capacitive touch fingerprint sensor for smartphones and tablets using Android.

FPC1020 is optimized to offer smartphone and tablet OEMs unprecedented

performance and enables OEMs to relieve consumers from the burden of using PIN

codes and passwords for user verification. FPC1020 has been developed by taking

advantage of the aggregated knowhow and technology leadership developed within

FPC since 1997. Experiences from fifteen years of touch fingerprint sensor

deployments are combined with FPC's market leadership in the smartphone market,

having integrated the FPC1080 swipe sensors in smartphones and tablets fast

approaching tens of millions of units.  

    The FPC1020 silicon sampled a few weeks ago and the first deliveries of

engineering samples of complete sensor modules to customers are planned during

the coming weeks.
