国際公認職業会計士協会の管理会計担当チーフ・エグゼクティブであるアンドリュー・ハーディング氏（FCMA、CGMA）は「現在の不確実性が高い経営環境下では事業のあらゆる部門が価値創造を支援する必要がある。財務の実務者によって財務の実務者向けに作成された『原則』は、意思決定プロセスを助ける営利および非営利組織向けの無償のリソースである。『原則』は、経営者が事業リスクに適切な対応を見極め、彼らが創出した価値を守ることを助ける枠組みを提供する」と述べた。

「原則」はより良いビジネスへの青写真を提示し、重役会および最高経営責任者（CEO）からマネジャーに至るまで1つの組織に所属する全員に、より良い意思決定を行うための指針を提供する。

「原則」は5大陸20カ国の3000人以上の最高経営責任者（CEO）、最高財務責任者（CFO）、学者、監督機関、政府機関およびその他専門家との協議を通じて開発された。これらの「原則」は、現在179カ国の65万人以上の会員および学生を代表する「協会」を共同で構成するCIMAおよびAICPAにより作成された。

「原則」は、管理会計士およびその雇用者に能力開発への構造的なアプローチを提供するCGMA（グローバル勅許管理会計士）Competency Framework（https://www.cgma.org/resources/tools/cgma-competency-framework.html ）を補完する。

「原則」は管理会計基準PAS 1919の基本原理を構成する。この基準は管理会計に関する優れた実務の指針として作成されており、組織がその財務機能をベンチマークすることが可能となる。この基準は英国規格協会（British Standards Institution）のウェブサイトからダウンロード可能。

東北大学会計大学院長、日本管理会計学会（JAMA）常務理事で日本版GMAPのプロジェクト・サブリーダーである青木雅明博士（教授）は「世界はテクノロジーおよび財務専門家の共通の実務を通じて一層繋がりを深めている。われわれの新時代に会計管理は極めて重要な役割を果たすと考える。この『原則』を日本に導入することで、われわれの財務機能を世界水準の実務に照らしベンチマークすることが可能となる。財務の専門家および事業の成功を支援するために、この無償のリソースの日本語版をここで入手が可能にすることができてうれしい」と述べた。

countries across five continents. They were created by CIMA and the AICPA –

The Principles form the basis of management accounting standard PAS 1919, which

has been designed as a best-practice guide to management accounting, allowing
