合成ゴムのリーディングカンパニーであるARLANXEO（アランセオ）は、ドナルド・チェン（Donald Chen）を2019年5月1日付で同社の新たな最高経営責任者（CEO）に任命すると発表した。同氏は、化学・製薬業界での40年近くに及ぶキャリアを終え退職するジョルジュ・ノゲイラの後任となる。

アランセオ株主委員会の会長兼サウジアラムコ（Saudi Aramco）のダウンストリーム担当シニア・バイスプレジデントであるアブドルアジズ・M・ジュダイミは次の様に述べています。「経験豊かなリーダーで業界のエキスパートであるドナルド・チェンを新たに当社に迎えいれる。ドナルド・チェンはアランセオにとって主要な成長地域であるアジア太平洋地域で長年のキャリアを持つ。チェンが現在の重要な市場環境下でアランセオに加わる事で、彼がアランセオを率い更なる成長を推進すると確信している」と述べた。

▽経験豊かな業界リーダー、ドナルド・チェン

ドナルド・チェンは、Archer Daniels Midland Company（ADM）出身で、同社では2016年1月からオーストラリア、ニュージーランドを含むアジア太平洋地域の運営を担当し、ADMの役員会のメンバーを務めた。同氏はそれ以前、サウジアラムコとダウ・ケミカル（Dow Chemical）の合弁事業であるSadara Chemical Companyのバイスプレジデントを務めた。また、ダウ・ケミカルのHydrocarbon & Energy担当リージョナル・バイスプレジデント、アジア太平洋および中東地域の主要プロジェクト担当バイスプレジデントも務めた。さらに以前には、同氏はロイヤル・ダッチ・シェル（Royal Dutch Shell）で約20年にわたり、中国、欧州、中東、太平洋地区の研究開発、コマーシャル・マーケティング、戦略・立案、オペレーション・事業開発の各部門で役職を歴任した。チェンはオランダのデルフト工科大学（Delft University of Technology）で工学修士号と博士号を取得している。

Donald Chen to take over from Jorge Nogueira

ARLANXEO today announces the appointment of Donald Chen as new Chief Executive

Officer of the leading rubber producer ARLANXEO with effect from May 1, 2019.

He succeeds Jorge Nogueira, who is retiring after a career spanning nearly 40

years in the chemical and pharmaceutical industry.

Experienced industry leader Donald Chen

Donald Chen has come from Archer Daniels Midland Company (ADM), where he was

responsible for operations in the Asia-Pacific region, including Australia and

New Zealand, since January 2016 and was also a member of the Executive Council

of ADM. He previously worked as Vice President at Sadara Chemical Company, a

joint venture between Saudi Aramco and Dow Chemical. He also served as Regional

Vice President for Hydrocarbon & Energy at Dow Chemical and as Vice President

for Major Projects in the Asia-Pacific and Middle East region. Before he held

various positions at Royal Dutch Shell in Research & Development, Commercial &

Marketing, Strategy & Planning and Operations & Business Development in China,

Europe, the Middle East and Pacific for almost twenty years. He has a Master's

degree in engineering and a doctorate from Delft University of Technology in

the Netherlands.
