【パソロブルス（米カリフォルニア州）2012年5月30日PRN＝共同JBN】医療機器コミュニティー向けの世界大手シリコン部品メーカーであるSpecialty Silicone Fabricators（SSF）は30日、米カリフォルニア州パソロブルスに10万2000平方フィートの最新施設を開設した。同施設はこれまで以上の効率を目指して設計され、一つの屋根の下にパソロブルスすべての部署、事業、管理を集め、同州タスチン、ミシガン州エルクラピッズの既存施設を補完する。新施設はリーン生産方式の成功のため必要な質、サービス、柔軟な環境の強化を進める。
SSFのケビン・マイヤー社長は「SSFの新しい施設は、最前線のシリコン押し出し、成形、カレンダーリング、シーティング、ディッピングの当社の立場を確実にするとともに、当社が配合剤で新市場に展開する力を与えてくれる。配合剤は医療品原料（原薬）と医療機器とを組み合わせる化学であるとともにハイブリッド・ポリウレタン－シリコンのような新しい医用素材である」と語った。
この最先端施設によってSSFは、医用シリコン機器素材に対する世界的な需要に対応することができる。世界の医療機器コミュニティーを支援する有力なシリコン素材メーカーとして、SSFの数多くの特許はイノベーターとして長年の評価を得て、米国にとどまらず中国、インド、日本、欧州など成長市場でのビジネスを拡大してきた。
マイヤー社長は「大規模化した施設は成長する医用機器製造をサポートするよう設計されているので、進展する提携関係を最大化することができる。当社の経験豊富な熟練エンジニアはクライアントともに原材料選択から製造可能性の設計まですべてパッケージ化を通じて、高価値と一貫した高品質の生産を確かなものにする」と語った。
新しい施設は品質管理と一体化したフロア計画を誇りとしている。同施設は3500平方フィートのISO7洗浄度クラス10,000のクリーンルームとともに3万5000フィートのISO8クラス100,000のクリーンルームが含まれる。

Specialty Silicone Fabricators (SSF), a leading global silicone component
manufacturer to the medical device community, inaugurated its state-of-the-art
102,000 square-foot facility today in Paso Robles, Calif. Designed for greater
efficiency, the facility joins all Paso Robles departments, operations and
administration under one roof, complementing existing facilities in Tustin,
Calif. and Elk Rapids, Mich. The new facility promotes enhanced quality,
service and the flexible environment necessary for successful Lean
Manufacturing.
"Specialty Silicone Fabricators' new facility secures our position at the
forefront of silicone extrusion, molding, calendaring, sheeting and dipping
while powering our expansion into new markets with Combination Products - the
science of combining active pharmaceutical ingredients with medical devices, as
well as new medical materials such as hybrid polyurethane-silicone," said Kevin

The cutting-edge facility enables SSF to meet the growing global demand for
medical silicone device components. As a leading silicone component
manufacturer supplying the worldwide medical device community, SSF's numerous

35,000 square-feet of ISO 8 Class 100,000 Cleanroom.
