【プリンストン（米ニュージャージー州）2012年5月30日PRN＝共同JBN】TOEFL（登録商標）テストの創設者であるETSは30日、TOEFLテストの公正さと信頼性を堅持するためにバイオメトリック音声認識を導入すると発表した。世界中のTOEFLテスト受験者を認定するTOEFLプログラムの総合的なセキュリティー・システムの実証済みの技術にもう一つ、今回発表されたセキュリティー措置が加わることになる。

政府や法執行機関が使用する高度な話者識別プラットフォームと同類のこのソフトウエアは、統計的パターン照合技術、最新の音声分類法、さまざまなシステムからのインプットを使ってTOEFLテスト受験者の音声サンプルを比較する。今月初めに導入されたこの話者識別システムは、TOEFLテスト受験者を認証する詳細な解析のための声紋をつくり出すことができる。この最新技術は2012年のTOEFLテストのセキュリティー調査の一環として採用され、2013年から徐々に使用を拡大していく。

TOEFL(R) Program Unveils State-of-the-Art Biometric Voice Identification Software to Increase Test Security Globally

    ETS, the creator of the TOEFL(R) test, announced the introduction of

biometric voice identification to maintain fair and reliable TOEFL testing. The

newly announced security measure provides an additional proven technique to add

to the TOEFL program's comprehensive security system in authenticating TOEFL

test takers globally.

    Similar to the highly advanced speaker identification platforms used by

government and law enforcement agencies, the software uses statistical pattern

matching techniques, advanced voice classification methods, and inputs from

multiple systems to compare speech samples from TOEFL test takers. Launched

earlier this month, the speaker identification system offers the ability to

create voice prints for detailed analysis to validate TOEFL test takers. The

new technology will be used as part of test security investigations in 2012 and

beginning in 2013 will gradually be used on a larger scale.
