amba台北中山ホテルが市中心部に近くオープン スタイリッシュで環境にやさしいデザイン

【台北2015年1月20日PRN＝共同通信JBN】アンバサダー・ホテルズ＆レストラン（Ambassador Hotels & Restaurants）傘下第2のambaホテル、amba台北中山（amba Taipei Zhongshan）が2015年春ごろにオープンする。1年半かけた歴史的建造物の改修を終えて、15日に最後の足場が取り外され、台北中心部にある片道3車線の中山北路に面して巨大なポップアート壁画のあるスタイリッシュな新ビルが姿を現した。

この地区の新しい流行スポットとなる、amba台北中山は全館で利用できる最大200 Mbpsの無料スマートWi-Fi、全90室のモダンな客室、ファッショナブルなレストラン、音楽とデザートを楽しめるバー、地元イメージと合った娯楽施設を備える。ホテルは中山エリアのショッピング・歓楽街の中心、MRTの中山駅から徒歩5分の場所にある。台北当代芸術館（MOCA）や台北之家（SPOT-Taipei Film House）などの文化施設も近くにある。

台北有数の歴史街区の中山では、築100年以上の欧米建築に流行のレストラン、文化的至宝、デザインショップを組み込む再開発が進んでいる。

ambaは台湾のグリーンビルディング賞などを受賞した台北市立図書館北投分館の設計家集団、Bioarchitecture Formosanaと協力、1970年代のオフィスビルをデザイン性あふれた現代風ホテルに改修した。

ビルの構造を残す事はライフサイクルを伸ばし、その特徴を保全することにあった。建築家は元の窓を再利用し、ファサードを低放射率（Low-E）ガラスの連窓に代え、壁をチャコールグレーに塗り替えて改装、力強く気品ある外観に仕上げている。

南に面するファサードには巨大なポップアート壁画を配している。30メートル×15メートルの壁画は、台湾で有名なタピオカミルクティーから台北之家のレトロ調映画まで、アイコニックなデザインで台北とambaのブランドイメージを描写している。

amba Taipei Zhongshan Establishes Itself as A Stylish New Address in the Center of Taipei with A Hip, Eco-friendly Design and A Giant Mural

amba Taipei Zhongshan, the second amba hotel by Ambassador Hotels &

Restaurants, will open in the second quarter of 2015. Today, the final

scaffolding comes down after an 18-month transformation of the historic

building, revealing a stylish new address with a giant pop art mural on

tree-lined Zhongshan North Road in the center of Taipei.

A new neighborhood hotspot, amba Taipei Zhongshan will feature free Smart WiFi

access of up to 200 Mbps hotel-wide, 90 contemporary rooms, a fashionable

restaurant, a music and dessert bar, and locally-inspired fun elements. The

hotel is located right in the heart of the Zhongshan shopping and entertainment

district, a five-minute walk from Taipei Metro Zhongshan Station. Cultural

attractions such as the Taipei Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) and

SPOT-Taipei Film House are also nearby.  

Zhongshan district is one of Taipei's most historic neighborhoods, and is

undergoing a renewal with century-old European and American architecture mixing

with hip restaurants, cultural gems and design shops.

Working with Bioarchitecture Formosana -- designers of Taiwan's greenest

building, the award-winning Beitou Branch of the Taipei Public Library -- amba

transformed a 1970s office building into a design-led contemporary hotel.

A key objective was to continue the lifecycle of the original structure,

preserving its character. The architects renovated the facade by replacing the

horizontal window bands with Low-E glass (low-emissivity) and repainting the

walls in charcoal-black, giving it a bold and elegant expression.

The southern facade features a giant pop art mural. Covering 30 meters x 15

meters, the graphics depict iconic Taipei and amba experiences, from Taiwan's

famed bubble tea, to retro cinema at SPOT-Taipei Film House.
