【サンノゼ（米カリフォルニア州）2015年7月10日PRN＝共同通信JBN】高性能リニア&パワーソリューションやLAN&タイミング、通信ソリューションで業界をリードするマイクレル社（Micrel, Inc.、Nasdaq: MCRL）は8日、高効率（90%ピーク以上）、ピン機能指定可能な5A同期降圧型コンバーターMIC24046-Hを小型3mm × 3mmパッケージで発売すると発表した。MIC24046-Hは、ピン選択可能な出力電圧、スイッチング周波数、電流制限設定を備え、設計の柔軟性が向上するとともに多数の外部コンポーネントが不要となる。このソリューションは、ネットワーク・スイッチ／ルーター、サーバー、ストレージ、基地局、FPGA、DSP電源をはじめ、工場のオートメーションおよびセキュリティー向けカメラなど最終装置での利用を対象にしている。MIC24046-Hは、1000個単位の注文単価が1.33ドルから入手可能である。

MIC24046-Hは、4.5Vから19Vまでの幅広い入力電圧で動作し、12Vレールからの分散POL（point-of-load）アプリケーション向けに最適である。ソリューションは、3つのスイッチング周波数設定（400kHz、565kHz、790kHz）を提供し、出力電圧は9つの異なる設定を通じて0.7Vから3.3Vまで選択が可能である。内部デバイダーは、0.7Vから1.2Vの間ではVOUTを誤差1%精度の設定で使用できる。MIC24046-Hは、「hiccup」モードによる短絡保護を提供する。その他の機能として、内部ソフトスタート、プレバイアス時の安全スタートアップ、過熱保護が含まれている。MIC24046-Hは20ピン、3mm × 3mm QFNパッケージで提供され、-40℃から+125℃までの接合部動作温度範囲で動作する。これは一連の製品ファミリーの中で最初の製品となる。

Micrel Launches A New Pin-Configurable, 19V, 5A DC/DC Converter Offered In A Tiny Package For Communication, Enterprise, Industrial Systems

Micrel, Inc. (Nasdaq: MCRL), an industry leader in high performance linear
and power solutions, LAN and timing and communications solutions, today
announced the availability of the MIC24046-H (
), a high efficiency (＞90 percent peak), pin-configurable 5A synchronous buck
converter in a tiny 3mm x 3mm QFN package. The device features pin selectable
output voltage, switching frequency and current limit settings which improve
design flexibility and eliminates multiple external components. The solution
targets end equipment such as network switches/routers, servers, storage, base
stations, FPGA and DSP power as well as factory automation and security
cameras. The MIC24046-H (
) is available in volume with pricing starting at $1.33 for 1,000 quantities.

"New generation Telecom and Datacom systems are pushing the limits of power
density requirements such that applications now require a flexible and high
performance DC-DC solution in a smaller footprint," stated Brian Hedayati, vice

The MIC24046-H (
) operates over a wide input voltage range of 4.5V to 19V making it ideal for
distributed 12V point-of-load applications. The solution offers three settings
for switching frequency (400kHz, 565kHz, or 790kHz) and the output voltage can
be selected from 0.7V to 3.3V via nine different settings. An internal divider
is used for true 1 percent VOUT accuracy setting from 0.7V to 1.2V. The
current limit can be selected to support three application requirements (3A,
4A, or 5A). The MIC24046-H (
)provides hiccup-mode short circuit protection. Other features include
internal soft-start, safe pre-biased start-up, and thermal shutdown. The
MIC24046-H (
) is available in a 20-pin, 3mm × 3mm QFN package and has a junction
temperature range of -40-degC to +125-degC. This is the first of a series in a
product family.
