「アジアの世紀」の背景で女性が経済の原動力としてますます活躍する中、アジア各国の企業から女性の取締役、最高経営責任者（CEO）などの経営トップら100人以上が今夏、2015 WomenCorporateDirectors（WCD）Asia Instituteに出席するため東京に集まる（http://www.womencorporatedirectors.com/event/2015Asia ）。

Instituteにはソニーの平井一夫CEO、日本の安倍昭恵首相夫人、小池百合子元防衛相・内閣総理大臣補佐官（国家安全保障問題担当）を含む経済界、政界の最高級指導者らも参加する。このイベントは株式公開企業や大手非公開企業の役員会の選ばれた女性取締役らが出席できる。

株式上場と非上場大手企業の女性取締役の世界最大組織であるWCDのCEOで共同創設者のスーザン・スタウトバーグ氏は「アジア地域全体の取締役会はますます多くの女性を登用している。女性がこうした地位に就くのに不可欠なのは人とのつながりである。とりわけアジアは、ほとんど他の地域よりもその傾向が強い。Asia Instituteでは女性取締役がCEO、会長や国際金融公社（IFC）との関係を作り、強化し、新たな取締役の機会を見つけることができる」と述べた。

WCDは7月9日に発足したモンゴルを含めて世界で69支部があり、韓国とタイは来年発足する。アジア太平洋の支部はこのほか北京、デリー、ハノイ、ホーチミン、香港、インドネシア、日本、マレーシア、メルボルン、ムンバイ、ニュージーランド、フィリピン、上海、シンガポール、シドニーにある。

Top Women Board Directors in Asia to Convene at WCD Asia Institute

   As women increasingly drive the economic engine behind the "Asian Century,"

more than 100 top women board directors, CEOs, and other C-suite officers from

companies across Asia will gather in Tokyo this September for the 2015

WomenCorporateDirectors (WCD) Asia Institute

   The Institute will feature some of the highest-level leaders from business

and government, including Sony CEO Kazuo Hirai; Akie Abe, first lady of Japan;

and Yuriko Koike, Former Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Security

boards of public companies or large, privately held companies.
