Yanmar Co., Ltd. is pleased to announce sponsorship of the HIMOINSA Racing Team in the upcoming edition of the Dakar Rally Raid, to be held in Argentina and Bolivia, January 3-16, 2016.

Following a series of successes throughout 2015 in worldwide competitions that include the Baja Aragon, TransAnatolia and Merzouga rally raids, the Team is now set to take on the Dakar. Ivan Cervantes, Gerard Farres, Antonio Gimeno, Rosa Romero and Dani Oliveras were officially presented in a press conference held in Madrid on November 16. Miguel Puertas will lead the squad on their way to victory in one of the greatest and toughest sporting challenges of our times.

Yanmar will be joined in this initiative by HIMOINSA S.L., a Spanish multinational company specializing in the manufacturing and marketing of power generation systems. Yanmar's relationship with HIMOINSA dates back to 2006, when it began supplying diesel engines to be used in HIMOINSA generators. Following this fruitful collaboration, in 2015, HIMOINSA became a Yanmar Group company. With a wealth of expertise in product development and business operations, the two companies are now focused on strengthening distribution channels and on delivering innovative solutions in the energy sector.
