Rocket Software, Inc.（www.rocketsoftware.com ）は13日、同社のグローバル展開の一環として日本の札幌にオフィスを開設したと発表した。これは、米テキサス州オースチン、中国・大連に新規施設を最近開設したのに続くもの。ロケットソフトウエア ジャパン（Rocket Software Japan Ltd.）の末原尚登代表取締役が札幌オフィス開設を担当し、引き続きその業務を監督する。

Rocketは、札幌市中央区北2条西1丁目1番マルイト札幌ビル303に新オフィスを開設した。日本における最初のオフィスを横浜に開設してから2年足らずのうちに開設された。今回の開設は、ますます重要性を増しているRocketとIBMとの関係を反映したものである。Rocketは現在、日本で50人以上を雇用しているが、IBM iおよびIBM z System関連テクノロジーを専門とするソフトウエアエンジニアなどを新しいポストに採用する。

末原社長は「当社はここ1年の間に札幌で社員を採用してきたが、われわれが最適なオフィスの場所を探している間、彼らは暫定オフィスで業務に従事してきた。札幌チームのメンバーがRocketの基準を満たすオフィスに入居し、今後は横浜オフィスをはじめ世界中の仲間とのコラボレーションを深めることができることを大変うれしく思う。当社は今年、横浜、札幌の両オフィスで数ポストを充足することを計画しているが、このオフィスの開設によって極めて競争の激しい労働市場でトップクラスの人材を採用することが可能となる」と語った。

Rocket Software Opens Second Japanese Office in Sapporo

   Rocket Software, Inc. (www.rocketsoftware.com) today announced the opening

of its office in Sapporo, Japan, as part of the company's global expansion.

This follows the recent opening of new facilities in Austin, Texas, and Dalian,

China. Hisato Suehara, Representative Director of Rocket Software Japan Ltd.,

was responsible for setting up the office and will continue to oversee

operations.

   Rocket opened the new office at Maruito Sapporo Building 303 1-1,

Kita2jyohnishi, Chuhoh-ku, Sapporo, less than two years after establishing its

first Japan-based office in Yokohama. This expansion reflects Rocket's

increasingly important relationship with IBM in Japan. Rocket currently has

more than 50 employees in Japan, and is hiring for a number of new positions,

including software engineers specializing in IBM i and IBM z Systems technology.

   "We've had employees in Sapporo for just over a year now, but they were in

temporary space while we looked for the right office location," says Suehara.

"I am excited that our Sapporo team members are now finally located in an

office that meets Rocket standards and allows them to better collaborate with
