Ascensia Diabetes Careは8日、Omnipod（R）インスリン管理システム（Omnipod System）によるチューブレス・インスリンポンプ（https://www.myomnipod.com/explore-omnipod/omnipod-system ）技術のリーダーであるInsulet Corporation （NASDAQ: PODD）と開発契約に署名し戦略的提携関係に入ったと発表した。契約条件の下で、AscensiaのCONTOUR（R）NEXT ONE血糖モニター・システム（BGMS）は、現在開発中のInsuletの次世代Omnipod System（Omnipod Dash（TM）System）と接続される。CONTOUR（R）NEXT ONE BGMS とOmnipod Dash（TM）Systemとのシームレスな接続によって、糖尿病患者に極めて精度の高い血糖値測定機能を備えて糖尿病を管理する革新的な継続的インスリン・デリバリー・システムが提供される。

CONTOUR（R）NEXT ONE BGMS はBluetooth Low Energy（BLE）経由でOmnipod Dash（TM）Personal Diabetes Manager（Omnipod Dash（TM）PDM）とペアリングし、自動的に個人の血糖値測定値を直接システムに送り込む。これら測定値は、Omnipod Dash（TM）PDMによってインスリン投薬量を計算するために利用され、糖尿病患者に対する高精度のインスリン・デリバリーを支援する。この世界的に非独占的な契約条件の下で、InsuletはCONTOUR（R）NEXT ONE測定器とCONTOUR（R）NEXT試験紙を提供するAscensia Diabetes Careと協力し、Omnipod Dash（TM）PDMを開発し、販売許可を求める。

Ascensia Diabetes Care Announces Strategic Alliance with Insulet Corporation to Connect CONTOUR(R)NEXT ONE BGMS and Omnipod Dash(TM) PDM

      Ascensia Diabetes Care today announced it has entered into a strategic

alliance by signing a development agreement with Insulet Corporation (NASDAQ:

PODD), the leader in tubeless insulin pump [

Omnipod(R) Insulin Management System (the Omnipod System). Under the terms of

this agreement, the Ascensia CONTOUR(R)NEXT ONE blood glucose monitoring system

(BGMS) will connect to Insulet's next-generation Omnipod System (the Omnipod

Dash(TM) System), which is currently in development. Seamlessly connecting the

CONTOUR(R)NEXT ONE BGMS and the Omnipod Dash(TM) System will provide people

living with diabetes with an innovative continuous insulin delivery system to

manage their diabetes, powered by remarkably accurate blood glucose readings.

    The CONTOUR(R)NEXT ONE BGMS will pair, via Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), with

the Omnipod Dash(TM) Personal Diabetes Manager (Omnipod Dash(TM) PDM) to

automatically transmit a person's blood glucose readings directly into the

system. These readings will be used by the Omnipod Dash(TM) PDM to calculate

insulin dosing and support highly accurate delivery of insulin for people

living with diabetes. Under the terms of this worldwide non-exclusive

agreement, Insulet will develop and seek marketing clearance for the Omnipod

Dash(TM) PDM, with collaboration from Ascensia Diabetes Care who will provide

the CONTOUR(R)NEXT ONE meter and CONTOUR(R)NEXT test strips.

    The CONTOUR(R)NEXT ONE BGMS received 510(k) clearance from the FDA in

November 2016 and has been shown to meet the stricter accuracy requirements of

the FDA Over-the-Counter BGMS Guidance that was recently issued in 2016. In a

clinical study, 95% of blood glucose results obtained with the CONTOUR(R)NEXT

ONE BGMS were within 8.4 mg/dL (0.5 mmol/L) or 8.4% of the reference result for

subject fingertip tests.[1]
