-Procos raises overall investment in Cameri plant to 250 mn-

Procos Spa has announced that it will invest 150 million euros in the Cameri plant near Novara over the next eight years during the week dedicated to Piedmont at the Italy Pavilion of Expo 2025 Osaka.

The announcement was made during the event 'Investing in Piedmont: crafting the future of manufacturing & innovation', dedicated to the attraction of investments, organized by the Piedmont region in cooperation with the Business and Made in Italy Ministry (MIMIT).

The meeting was attended by the Commissioner General for Italy at Expo 2025 Osaka, Ambassador Mario Vattani, Piedmont's Economic Development, Internationalization and Investment Attraction Councillor Andrea Tronzano, the Secretary General of Unioncamere Piedmont Paolo Bertolino, the President of Ceipiemonte Dario Peirone and representatives of the management of Japanese companies that currently have activities and investments in Piedmont.

Procos Spa is a chemical-pharmaceutical company specialized in the production of active pharmaceutical ingredients, based in Cameri (Novara).

The company's growth announced by CEO, Enrico Zodio, and by the Chief Commercial Officer, Kingo Yamashita, follows the 100 million euros already invested to recently expand the R11 production unit and brings to an additional 250 million the investment to boost Piedmont's plant.
"The Japanese group has shown since the beginning an enormous willingness to invest in the territory, giving value to a company, an excellence of Piedmont with a long history", explained Zodio.

"Italy is a cradle of pharmaceutical chemistry, continuing a tradition of this kind has been very important", he said, Procos has stressed how innovation and social responsibility remain at the centre of its strategy: potential new projects have been announced to boost Research & Development and for the constant improvement of the Cameri plant, confirming the willingness to look at the future with targeted and sustainable investments.

"We are very satisfied with these announcements which once again enhance the role of the Italy Pavilion as a strategic platform for the diplomacy of growth", stated the commissioner General for Italy at Expo 2025 Osaka.
"The events 'Investing in', created thanks to the strong synergy with MIMIT, highlight once again how Italy knows how to work as a team also on this occasion, for the promotion of the national economy and to attract foreign investments", added Vattani.

Piedmont Governor Alberto Cirio hailed the "important investments in key sectors for Piedmont's economy, showing the great team work promoted by institutional stakeholders".
According to the governor, Piedmont has confirmed its nature as an "appealing region, able to attract the interest of multinationals and large groups".

Procos Spa's announcement represents the implementation of "great work which we are carrying out to promote investment and business opportunities in our territory", explained Piedmont's Economic Development, Internationalization and Investment Attraction Councillor Andrea Tronzano.

According to Tronzano, "participating in Expo is also a big window in this sense because we meet companies and potential investors here, presenting to them the excellence of our production chains and of our training system".
