On Oct. 29-30, the "Exploring Binzhou Together" media delegation visited Binzhou City in east China's Shandong Province to witness the city's innovative practices and achievements in the low-altitude economy.

The Binzhou Low-Altitude Flight Service Center is the first institution of its kind in Shandong Province, providing management and support for low-altitude flight operations. Featuring an innovative operational mechanism, well-developed infrastructure, and efficient airspace management, the center provides comprehensive services and safeguards for unmanned aircraft operations within low-altitude airspace.

The center is equipped with a 22,000-square-meter vertical-takeoff unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) landing area and a 1,200-meter runway for fixed-wing UAVs. Six meteorological stations collect and transmit real-time data on temperature, humidity, air pressure, wind direction, wind speed, and precipitation. Nine 5G-A integrated communication-sensing base stations ensure high-speed, low-latency data transmission, enabling precise sensing of airspace below 300 meters and within a 1.5-kilometer radius, with real-time data accuracy reaching up to 99.99%.

The Binzhou Low-Altitude Flight Service Center has received approval for four designated flight airspace zones totaling 3,044 square kilometers, with altitude limits ranging from 300 to 5,000 meters. These zones offer customized airspace configurations tailored to regional needs and service requirements.
