業界調査結果は、クラウド開発が全体的な企業ITミックスの中に急速に進んでいることを示している。例えば、米調査会社ソーガタック・テクノロジー（Saugatuck Technology） が２０１１年に行った研究によると、「全企業の７５％は、２０１２年に何らかのクラウド開発を実施し、世界で行われる新しいソフトウエア展開の平均５０％は、２０１４年末までにクラウドで行われる」と指摘している。

    Industry research shows that cloud development is quickly working its way

into the overall enterprise IT mix. For instance, a 2011 study conducted by

Saugatuck Technology indicated that "75 percent of all companies will be doing

some of their development in the cloud in 2012, and an average of 50 percent of

new software deployments worldwide will be made in the cloud by the end of

2014."
