◎来年６月に中国・成都で開催　　フォーチュン・グローバル・フォーラム

【北京１０日PRN＝共同JBN】米フォーチュン誌のアンディ・サーワー編集長は９日北京市内で記者会見し、２０１３年６月６日から８日までの３日間、四川省成都市で「２０１３年フォーチュン・グローバル・フォーラム」を開催すると発表した。

記者会見で同編集長は「中国が世界ビジネスの最前線に立っている今、成都は次回のフォーチュン・グローバル・フォーラム開催地として理想的な場所だ。急速に発展している中国西部の中心に位置している成都は、多くの国の企業が集まる磁力を持つ都市となっており、高等教育の中心地、自動車から物流、技術、サービスまで多様な業種で指導的地位にある」と述べた。

サーワー編集長によると、四川省の省都である成都は、２０１１年の域内総生産（GDP）が１５・２％伸びるなど急速に発展しており、現在までにフォーチュン誌世界番付大手５００社のうち２１２社が成都市で操業を開始。中国中西部や中央部、南アジアまで広範囲な地域まで視野に収める成都市が持つ輸送ネットワークの恩恵を受けている。

成都市の葛紅林市長は「２０１３年フォーチュン・グローバル・フォーラムが成都で開かれることになった。これは成都にとって名誉なことであり。フォーラム主催者の注目すべき視野の広さを反映したものである。フォーラム参加者は、中国政府が１０年前に西部地域開発を決めて以来の発展の成果のほか、２００８年の四川大地震からの復興の成果、中国内陸部の都市が世界金融危機にいかに前向きに対処し、経済成長のパターンを早急に形作ってきたかをつぶさに見るチャンスが持てる機会を得るであろう。フォーラム開催は、世界にとって成都をより理解する機会であり、成都にとっては世界にはばたく機会である」と述べた。

２０１３年フォーチュン・グローバル・フォーラムのテーマは「中国の新しい未来」。中国国内経済の発展や、中国西部地域の発展、世界の中で増大する中国の役割に焦点をあてたプログラムが用意されている。「中国の世紀」、「リソース・ソリューション」、「技術革新」、「世界金融経済回復」がフォーラムの中心的な柱となる。

中国で同フォーラムが開かれるのは、上海（１９９９年）、香港（２００１年）、北京（２００５年）に続いて４回目。中国西部の都市としては成都が初の開催地となる。

Chengdu to Host 2013 FORTUNE Global Forum

    The 2013 FORTUNE Global Forum will be held in Chengdu, China from June 6 to

8, 2013. It was announced by Andy Serwer, FORTUNE magazine's managing editor,

at a press conference in Beijing on Monday.

    "At a time when China is in the forefront of global business, Chengdu is

the ideal location for the next FORTUNE Global Forum," Serwer said in his

announcement. "Situated in the heart of China's rapidly growing Western region,

Chengdu has become a dynamic magnet for multinational companies, a center for

higher education, and a leader in diverse range of industries from automotive

and logistics to technology and services."

    According to Serwer, Chengdu, the capital city of China's Sichuan Province,

has been expanding rapidly with GDP growth of 15.2% in 2011. To date, 212

FORTUNE Global 500 companies have opened operations in Chengdu, which benefits

from transportation networks that reach into broad swaths of central and

western China, as well as central and southern Asia.

    Ge Honglin, Mayor of Chengdu, said, "The 2013 FORTUNE Global Forum will be

held in Chengdu, which is an honor for Chengdu and reflects the remarkable

breadth of vision of the organizer of the forum. The participants will be

granted a chance to have a close look at the fruits of the development of

China's western regions since Chinese government launched the movement ten

years ago, the achievements made in the construction of the devastating

earthquake in Sichuan in 2008, and how Chinese inland cities positively respond

to global financial crisis and speed up the transformation of economic growth

pattern. It's an opportunity for the world to have a better understanding of

Chengdu and for Chengdu to go international."

    The theme of the 2013 FORTUNE Global Forum will be "China's New Future",

with a program that will focus on the evolution of China's domestic economy,

the development of China's Western regions, and China's emerging role in the

global context. The central content pillars will be: The China Century,

Resource Solutions, Innovation and Technology, and Global Finance Economy

Recovery.

    Chengdu will be the first western city in China and the fourth city after

Shanghai (1999), Hong Kong (2001) and Beijing (2005) to host FORTUNE Global

Forum in China.
