◎Philippe Schaus氏を新CEOに選出　免税品販売のDFS

【ホノルル2012年7月12日PRN＝共同JBN】空港での免税品販売など世界最大の旅先での高級小売店であるDFSグループ（DFS Group）は12日、フィリップ・シャウス（Philippe Schaus）氏を最高経営責任者（CEO）に選出したと発表した。13年間にわたりCEOを務めたエドワード・J・ブレナン（Edward J. Brennan）氏の後任として2012年8月1日に正式就任する。また2012年12月31日付で、ブレナン氏の後を継いで会長職にも就任する。退任後のブレナン氏は、非執行取締役としてDFS Groupに残るほか、LVMHが保有するStarboard Cruise Services、Onboard Mediaの会長職には引き続きとどまる。

シャウス氏のCEO任命に加えて、DFS Group内の店舗・ビジネス開発部門のプレジデントであるマイケル・シュライバー（Michael Schriver）氏は、新設ポストである最高執行責任者（COO）に昇格した。

DFS Groupの非執行取締役でLVMHのグループ・マネジング・ディレクターであるアントニオ・ベローニ（Antonio Belloni）氏は「ブレナン氏はDFSで素晴らしいリーダーだった。ブレナン氏とそのチームは、世界で最も成功した高級旅行小売業務を創り出した。過去数年間の売上高、利益の伸びは目覚ましく、われわれは店舗数を拡大して、地理的な視界をアジア、環太平洋地域から現在は世界の半分以上の地域に展開している」と述べた。

▽Philippe Schaus氏略歴

Philippe Schaus氏はルクセンブルクで育ち、1987年にJPモルガンに入った後、1990年にはボストン・コンサルティング・グループ（Boston Consulting Group GmbH）に入社。1992年にはビレロイ&ボッホ（Villeroy & Boch）の磁器食器部門の国際コマーシャル・ディレクターに就任。その後1999年には同部門のマネジング・ディレクターに昇格した。2003年にはルイ・ヴィトン(Louis Vuitton)に欧州地区担当社長として入社、2006年には国際部門上級副社長に指名された。同氏は2009年から2011年までルイ・ヴィトンの上級副社長を務めた。2011年7月にマーチャンダイジングおよびマーケティング部門のグループ・プレジデントとしてDFSに移った。

ブレナン氏は1997年に R.H. Macy'sからDFSに入社した。1999年CEOに昇進し翌年会長職に就いた。

シュライバー氏はR.H. Macy’sから1998年にDFSに入社した。DFSで同氏は、マーチャンダイジングおよび流通部門の責任者となり、その後2008年には店舗運営に、2011年にはさらにビジネス開発の仕事も行なうようになった。

Philippe Schaus to Succeed Ed Brennan as Chairman and CEO of DFS Group

                               Schriver Named COO

DFS Group, the world's largest luxury travel retailer, announced today that its

Board of Directors has elected Philippe Schaus as Chief Executive Officer

effective August 1, 2012.  Mr. Schaus succeeds Edward J. Brennan who is

retiring as CEO after 13 years in that position.  In addition, Mr. Schaus will

succeed Mr. Brennan as Chairman on December 31, 2012.  Mr. Brennan will become

a Non-Executive Director of DFS Group and will remain Chairman of LVMH-owned

Starboard Cruise Services and Onboard Media.

In addition to Mr. Schaus' appointments, Michael Schriver, the company's

President for Stores and Business Development, has been promoted to the newly

created position of Chief Operating Officer.  

Antonio Belloni, a Non-Executive DFS Group Director and the Group Managing

Director of LVMH said: "Ed has been a formidable leader at DFS.  He and his

Biographies

Raised in Luxembourg, Mr. Schaus began his career in 1987 at J.P. Morgan before

joining The Boston Consulting Group GmbH  in 1990.  In 1992 he became

International Commercial Director of the Porcelain Tableware Division at

Villeroy & Boch before being promoted Managing Director for the division in

1999.  He joined Louis Vuitton in 2003 as President of the Europe Zone and was

appointed Senior Vice President International in 2006. Between 2009 and 2011 he

was Executive Vice President of Louis Vuitton.  Mr. Schaus joined DFS in July

2011 as Group President of Merchandising and Marketing.

Mr. Brennan joined DFS from R.H. Macy in 1997 and rose to become its CEO in

1999 and added Chairman to his responsibilities the following year.  

Mr. Schriver joined DFS from R.H. Macy's in 1998.   At DFS he has also been

responsible for Merchandising and Distribution before his selection to run

Store Operations in 2008 and, additionally, Business Development in 2011.
