◎Universal DisplayとPlextronicsが戦略的提携を締結　　OLED材料システム開発

【ユーウイング（米ニュージャージー州）、ピッツバーグ（米ペンシルベニア州）2012年7月20日PRN＝共同JBN】大手OLED特許ライセンサーでエネルギー効率に優れたOLEDディスプレーおよび照明のサプライヤーであるUniversal Display Corporation（http://www.universaldisplay.com）（ナスダック：PANL）と、プリンテッド・エレクトロニクス技術の大手開発・製造企業であるPlextronicsは20日、戦略的提携を締結し、Plextronicsの正孔注入層／正孔輸送層材料をUniversal Displayのリン光OLED発光層材料に組み込む、溶剤ベースのOLED材料システムの開発と商用化を促進する。両社は3年間の共同開発契約を締結したうえで、Universal DisplayはPlextronicsに400万ドルを投資する。

Plextronicsのアンディー・ハンナ社長兼最高経営責任者（CEO）は「今回の契約は、リン光OLEDアプリケーションのためにPlexcore（登録商標）材料の開発、商用化を一層加速するPlextronicsの取り組みにとって重要な一歩である。PlextronicsはUniversal DisplayのUniversalIP20LED（登録商標）プラットフォームのためにPlexcore（登録商標）HIL（正孔注入層）の初期製品を開発する際にUniversal Displayと緊密に協力してきた。この取り組みの結果、次の段階の能力を達成するためには正孔輸送層材料を含めた関係に拡大することが道理にかなっているとするのが必然となった」と語った。

Universal Display and Plextronics Announce Strategic Alliance to Develop Next-generation OLED Material Systems

    Companies enhance joint development efforts to accelerate development of

         solution-based Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED) materials for

                    phosphorescent-based display and lighting

strategic alliance to accelerate the development and commercialization of
