◎FMC CorporationがタイにMCC製造施設建設へ

【フィラデルフィア（米ペンシルベニア州）2012年7月24日PRN＝共同JBN】FMC Corporation（NYSE:FMC）は24日、タイのラヨーンに新たに世界級の微結晶セルローズ（MCC）製造施設建設のため1億ドル余りを投資すると発表した。新しいプラントは、業界をリードする同社のコロイド状MCCであるAvicel（登録商標）を供給する長期的能力の証である。

同社のピエール・ブロンドー社長兼最高経営責任者（CEO）兼会長は「本日の発表はFMCビジョン2015年成長戦略における新たな大きな一歩前進である。今回の重要な投資は、当社の代表的な製品ラインの採算性ある成長を促し、急成長する地域に有力なFMC技術の能力を導入し、広げるという継続的コミットメントの表れである」と語った。

新施設は2014年第4四半期に操業開始の見込みであり、FMAの食品グレードのMCC製造能力は35%大きくなる。タイの施設は当初、食品や飲料の主要原料として使われるコロイド状MCCのAvicel（登録商標）を製造する。しかし、施設の設計は将来的な製造量拡大と需要に応えるために、食品および製薬市場双方の異なる製品ラインの製造もできるようになる。

FMC Corporation事業部門のFMC BioPolymerは、アイルランド・コーク、米デラウエア州ニューアークにある製造プラントで、食品、医薬品グレードのMCCを製造している。

FMC Corporation Announces New Thailand Microcrystalline Cellulose Manufacturing Facility

    FMC Corporation (NYSE:FMC) today announced the company will invest more

than $100 million in a new world class microcrystalline cellulose (MCC)

manufacturing facility in Rayong, Thailand. The new plant will ensure the

company's long-term ability to supply the growing Asia market with its industry

leading Avicel(R) colloidal MCC.

    "Today's announcement represents another major step in FMC's Vision 2015

grow our signature product lines, and to introduce or broaden the availability

of leading FMC technologies in rapidly growing regions."

    The new facility, expected to come on line in the fourth quarter 2014, will

increase FMC's global food grade MCC capacity by 35 percent. The Thailand

facility will initially manufacture Avicel(R) colloidal MCC, which is widely

used as key ingredient in food and beverages. However, the facility's design

will allow for future volume expansion, and the manufacture of different

product lines for both the food and pharmaceutical markets, as demand warrants.

capacity to our MCC network will be needed to supply high-quality products and

service to our Asian customers, while at the same time providing us with

North America and Europe."
