【モントリオール2012年9月25日PRN＝共同JBN】W-CDMA Patent Pool for Terminals（ターミナル向けW-CDMA特許プール）のライセンス管理者であるSipro Lab Telecomは25日、W-CDMAターミナル製品メーカーが9月25日から、以下の新規特許権使用料金オプションを利用できると発表した。

　＊四半期に販売されたW-CDMAターミナル製品の数量に基づく数量割引の特許権使用支払

　＊アーリーアダプターとしての期間に共同ライセンス契約を締結する当事者に対する新規インセンティブ

ターミナルに関するW-CDMAの基幹特許権の共同ライセンスは、W-CDMA規格に準拠する基地局タイプの装置と通信可能なW-CDMA機能を含む無線ターミナル機器ないしはモジュールの一式を製造するメーカーを対象にしている。料金オプションが追加されることで、上記のメーカーはこの共同ライセンスによって効率が一層向上し、魅力が増すことになる。

W-CDMA Patent Pool for Terminals Offers Additional Royalty Pricing Options

    Sipro Lab Telecom, the licensing administrator of the W-CDMA Patent Pool

for Terminals, is pleased to announce today that the following additional

royalty pricing options are available to W-CDMA Terminal Products manufacturers

as of September 25, 2012.

    -- Volume discount royalty payments based on the number of W-CDMA terminal

       products sold quarterly.

    -- Additional incentives for parties that enter into a joint license

       agreement during an early adopters' period.

    The joint license for W-CDMA essential patent rights for terminals is aimed

at manufacturers of complete wireless terminal devices or modules containing

W-CDMA functionality able to communicate with base station type equipment

compliant with the W-CDMA Standard. The additional pricing options further

enhance the efficiencies offered by, and the attractiveness of, the joint

license to such manufacturers.
