【ロサンゼルス（米カリフォルニア州）2013年1月16日PRN=共同JBN】ユニバーサルミュージック・グループ（Universal Music Group、UMG）会長兼最高経営責任者（CEO）、英国ビジネスアンバサダーで、英帝国勲爵士を持つルシアン・グレンジ氏、ウィリアム・モリス・エンデバー・エンターテイメント（William Morris Endeavor、WME）共同CEOのアリ・エマニュエル氏、スーパースターミュージシャン、起業家で慈善家でもあるウィル・アイ・アム氏が「Founders Forum（ファウンダーズ・フォーラム）」および英国貿易投資総省と提携してロサンゼルスで初めて「Innovation Forum（イノベーション・フォーラム）」を主催することになった。この特別のイベントは2013年2月4日、5日の2日間にわたって催される予定。

Innovation Forumは世界のメディア、テクノロジー、ベンチャー・キャピタル、クリエーティブ業界の著名人と英国を拠点にした起業家を一堂に集め、多様な話題をテーマにしたフォーラム、討論セッション、私的な会話などを通じてこれら各界で定評のある業界指導者、起業家の間のコラボレーションを作り、育てることを狙いにしている。

米国と英国はコンテンツやその流通の改革のエンジンとして世界をリードし続けている。英国のクリエーティブ業界は2009年には80億ポンド（130億ドル）相当のサービスを輸出しており、これは英国の輸出全体の10.6%を占める。英政府は現在「GREATキャンペーン」を通じて同国のクリエーティブ・サービスの振興を図っている。「GREATキャンペーン」は英国を世界を代表するビジネス、投資、教育、観光のデスティネーションにしようというもの。同キャンペーンは2012年のロンドン・オリンピック、パラリンピックに向けてスタートし、2015年まで続けられる。

2月4日には、ロサンゼルス市長アントニオ・R・ビヤライゴサ氏がフォーラムの開会の辞を読むことになっている。

現在までに参加が確認された業界指導者は以下を含む。Spotify創立者ダニエル・エク氏、ドリームワークス・アニメーション（Dreamworks Animation）CEOジェフリー・カッツェンバーグ氏、XIX創立者サイモン・フラー氏、Vivendi会長兼CEOジャン・レネ・ファト氏、Wasserman Media Groupのケーシー・ワッサーマン氏、Google/YouTube副社長兼世界コンテンツ・ヘッドのロバート・キンクル氏、AEG Live社長兼CEOランディー・フィリップス氏。

英国からの参加者は以下の通り。英首相任命ビジネスアンバサダー兼トレードエンボイのチェアマンを努めるジョナサン・マーランド卿、文化・コミュニケーション・クリエーティブ産業担当政務次官エド・ベゼイ氏、Endemol前CEO兼会長でMaker Studios会長のイノン・クレイズ氏、Songkick創業者兼CEOのイアン・ホーガース氏、Beboの共同創立者マイケル・バーチ氏、ウィキペディア創立者兼CEOジミー・ウェールズ氏、PlayMob創立者兼CEOジュード・オウアー氏、Soundcloud創立者兼CEOアレクサンダー・リュング氏、Moshi MonstersのCEO兼クリエーティブディレクター兼創立者マイケル・アクトン・スミス氏、アーツ・カウンシル・イングランドのチェアマンでEndemolでの勤務経験があるサー・ピーター・バザルジェット。

ルシアン・グレンジ氏は「デジタル・ベンチャー、ベンチャー投資家あるいはコンテンツ企業どれであっても、ビジネス開発に携わる企業はグローバルに行動することが必須である。それを成し遂げる方法はコラボレーションをおいて他にはない。Innovation Forumは英米両国の新旧企業の間を取り持って強い提携関係を作ろうとしている。今までなかった今回の集まりを通じて国際的な提携が強化されるばかりでなく、革新的なコラボレーションが生まれると思う」と語った。

カリフォルニア州選出のダイアン・ファインスタイン民主党上院議員は「米国、英国の起業家、投資家を一緒に集めるのにこれほど良い時はない。カリフォルニア州でのこのイベントは、世界の消費者を豊かにする一連のオンラインとモバイルに関するベンチャーを生み出すことができると期待している」と語った。

英首相任命のビジネスアンバサダーおよびトレードエンボイのチェアマンを務めるマーランド卿は「これはクリエーティブとエンターテインメントという2つの偉大な産業とって、より深い関係構築と事業開発を行うため英米の最高を代表して集るまたとない機会である」と述べた。

special 2-day event will take place on February 4th and 5th, 2013.

capital and creative industry sectors with United Kingdom-based entrepreneurs,

the Innovation Forum will seek to create and foster more collaboration between

these established industry leaders and entrepreneurs through a series of

topic-rich forums, pitch sessions and private conversations.

The United States and the United Kingdom continue to rank as the leading

engines of global innovation in content and distribution. In the UK alone, the

creative industries exported over GBP8bn ($13bn) worth of services in 2009 and

accounted for 10.6% of all UK's exports. The British Government is supporting

the UK's creative services through its GREAT campaign. The GREAT campaign

showcases the UK as a world-class destination for business, investment

education and tourism. It was launched for the Olympic and Paralympic Games

London 2012 and will run until 2015.

On February 4th, Los Angeles Mayor Antonio R. Villaraigosa will provide the

Opening Address for the Forum.
