この傾向を緩和する一つの道は農村部に起業家精神を広げることであり、それこそ農村地帯の生活を維持するカギである。Rural World Entrepreneurship Forumは、最善の起業家活動と起業家精神開発に関する知識を探求、共有することによって、農村地域の力をつけることを力点に置き、農村部イノベーションを助長することを追求した。

World Entrepreneurship Forum（世界起業家フォーラム）とEnvironmental Forum of India（EFOI）が共同主催した第1回Rural World Entrepreneurship Forum（7月4－6日）は、集まった3500人の人々の前でインドのシャラドチャンドラジ・パワール農業相の開会のあいさつで始まった。

フォーラムの主唱者でEFOI創始者兼会長であるスネトラ・パワール氏は、このフォーラムを「起業家がそのアイデア、ビジョン、それが農村部の起業家エコシステムにどのような影響を与えるかを示すプラットフォーム」であると説明した。

2日間の突っ込んだ話し合いは、仕事を生み、自立的な農村コミュニティー開発につながりそうな革新的な活動を浮き彫りにした。

講演した企業は以下を含む。

　＊Gadhia Solar Energy Systemsによる「太陽光オーブン」

　＊ARTIの「農業廃棄物をチャーコールに変換」

　＊MittiCoolの「土器製台所用品」

  ＊IKP Centerによる「Agricultural PracticeおよびNational Institute of Agricultural Marketingの進展」

同フォーラムはフランスのEM LYON Business SchoolおよびKPMG Franceが2008年創設、その後シンガポールの組織Action Community for EntrepreneurshipおよびNanyang Technological University、フランスのGrand Lyon、Lyon Chamber of Commerce and Industry、中国のZhejiang Universityが参画した。

その綱領は、富と社会正義の創造者として起業家を通じた世界諸問題の解決を目指すことである。2008年以来、75カ国から600人が、起業家ソリューションを持って今日の最も重要な諸問題に取り組む目的で参集した。

     Its aim: to highlight the significant potential of rural entrepreneurship

and promote sustainable development of rural areas

    Today, 47% of the world's population still live in rural areas but rural

exodus has become an important international issue. In 2007, for the first time

in the history of mankind, urban populations exceeded those of rural areas,

posing serious challenges of which we are all aware.

    One way to temper this trend is through the spread of rural

entrepreneurship, which is key to sustaining livelihoods in rural areas. By

exploring and sharing knowledge on the best entrepreneurial practices and

solutions, the Rural World Entrepreneurship Forum seeks to nurture rural

innovations with a clear focus on empowering rural areas.

    Organized jointly by the World Entrepreneurship Forum and the Environmental

Forum of India (EFOI), the 1st Rural World Entrepreneurship Forum was

inaugurated by India's Minister for Agriculture, Hon. Sharadchandraji Pawar, in

front of 3,500 people.

    The initiator of the Forum, Mrs. Sunetra Pawar, Founder and President of

EFOI, presented it as "a platform for entrepreneurs to showcase their ideas,

vision and how they will impact the rural entrepreneurial ecosystem".

    The two day in-depth discussion highlighted innovative initiatives likely

to create jobs and develop self-reliant rural communities.

    - ARTI: conversion of agricultural waste into charcoal

    - MittiCool: earthenware kitchen devices

    - IKP Center for Advancement in Agricultural Practice and National

Institute of Agricultural Marketing

    Founded in 2008 by EM LYON Business School and KPMG France, later joined by

Singaporean institutions Action Community for Entrepreneurship and Nanyang

Technological University, Grand Lyon, the Lyon Chamber of Commerce and Industry

and Zhejiang University in China.

    Its mission statement is to solve the world's problems through

entrepreneurs as creators of wealth and social justice. Since 2008, 600

participants from 75 countries have met to tackle today's most pressing issues

with entrepreneurial solutions.
