Ultrasonic Week Set for May 9-11 in Yokohama;

Symposium, Academic Programs, Seminars

under Theme of 'Resonance for Future'

The Japan Society of Ultrasonics in Medicine will hold Ultrasonic Week 2014 at Pacifico Yokohama on May 9-11.

Ultrasonic Week 2014 features an international symposium on breast and thyroid sonology, academic programs in 15 specific fields and an exhibition of ultrasonographs equipped with cutting-edge technology, simulated training and hands-on seminars using most advanced equipment. In addition, a mobile health-screening van used in thyroid testing in Fukushima Prefecture will be on display during the three-day event. Experts will give public lectures on the ultrasonic diagnosis of fetuses, ultrasound thyroid testing in Fukushima and breast cancer screening.

About the Japan Society of Ultrasonics in Medicine

The Japan Society of Ultrasonics in Medicine was established in 1961. Since then, it has grown into a society comprised of more than 13,000 members, primarily involved in the academic research and clinical practice of medical and biological applications of ultrasonic waves. In recent years, basic technological developments, such as on elasticity and other structural properties and on contrast-enhanced ultrasonography, have been clinically applied, and as subsequent diagnostic findings have been accumulated, further research and development has been advanced.
