On January 27, 2016, Japan Duty Free Fa-So-La Isetan Mitsukoshi Co., Ltd. opened "Japan Duty Free GINZA," Japan's first-ever (outside Okinawa) airport-style duty-free shop, on the 8th floor of Mitsukoshi Ginza Store. By making available in the city an airport-style duty-free shop that exempts shoppers from customs duties, and consumption, liquor and tobacco taxes, not only can inbound foreign travelers be serviced but Japanese air passengers can also be provided with a new style of shopping prior to their own departure.

Six Merchandise Zones

"Japan Duty Free GINZA" comprises six merchandise zones that carry the following brands:

- Boutique (Luxury) Zone

9 boutiques

* Boucheron: the first of its kind at any duty-free shop in the world

* Valentino and Saint Laurent: the first of their kind at any duty-free shop in Japan

- Cosmetics & Perfume Zone

18 shops

* Albion: the first of its kind at any duty-free shop in Japan

- Time Valley (Watches) Zone (opening on March 9, 2016)

7 shops

* Vacheron Constantin and Roger Dubuis: the first of their kind at any duty-free shop in Japan

- Liquor Zone

This refers to the many techniques of Japanese artisans. Items symbolizing the quality of Japanese artisans have been selected for featuring in the following four sections:
