Chiba Prefecture's mascot character "CHI-BA+KUN" will participate in the Kaohsiung Mizuno International Marathon in Taiwan in February to promote the Chiba Aqualine Marathon 2016 to be held in Kisarazu City in the prefecture in October 23 as part of the prefecture's varied campaign to raise awareness and improve its image in Taiwan. Moreover, CHI-BA+KUN will also give performances in a parade and on the stage during the 2016 Taiwan Lantern Festival in Taoyuan. Furthermore, CHI-BA+KUN will take advantage of "Explore Real Japan," an event sponsored by the Interchange Association (Japan) to communicate the attractions of Chiba to people in Taiwan.
