Molten Corporation based in Hiroshima, Japan, a manufacturer of competition quality sports balls and equipment, is set to release the "SLAM DUNK x Molten Basketball" at sports equipment shops across China and on online shopping websites, beginning on Tuesday, July 18.

Molten has developed and produced this special basketball in collaboration with the popular Japanese manga series "SLAM DUNK" featuring high school basketball.

The "SLAM DUNK x Molten Basketball" is a specially designed ball depicting a scene in which SLAM DUNK protagonist Hanamichi Sakuragi, a star player with Shohoku High School, makes a dash in a game against Sannoh High School at the story's climax.

About manga series "SLAM DUNK"

"SLAM DUNK" is a popular Japanese manga series featuring high school basketball that was published in 276 installments on "Weekly Shonen Jump" comic magazine from 1990 to 1996 in Japan. The work published in book form has sold a total of over 120 million copies in Japan.
