記者会見に先立ち、フランスのエマニュエル・マクロン大統領はCIIEの開会式に出席、中国とフランスの国交樹立55周年を記念して、習近平・中国国家主席と実利的協力の進め方について議論した。マクロン氏はまた、習近平国家主席にFoodgateで輸入されたLimousin PromotionのLimousin Label Rouge Beef（リムジン赤ラベル・ビーフ）を紹介した。
