アフリカ、アジア各地の人道団体による問い合わせや応募が殺到したため、主催者は期限を延期し、より多くの応募者の推薦手続き完了を可能にした。賞を開始してから初めて、TBHFは応募をウェブサイトhttps://tbhf.ae で直接受け付ける。

TBHFの候補の評価は、活動の具体的な利益と持続可能な影響、活動範囲、サービス提供の精神の客観性と透明性に基づく。

シャルジャに本部がある人道慈善団体The Big Heart Foundation（TBHF）が国連難民高等弁務官事務所（UNHCR）と協力してこの賞を主催している。13万6000ドルの賞金はTBHFの特別な寄付であり、財団への寄付金の一部ではない。

SIARAはアラブ首長国連邦（UAE）最高評議会メンバーのシャルジャ首長スルタン・ビン・ムハンマド・カシミ殿下とその夫人でTBHF会長、UNHCR難民児童エミネントアドボケート（著名擁護者）であるジャワヘル・ビント・ムハンマド・カシミ妃殿下のビジョンを体現して、難民の擁護、支援とコミュニティー振興への重要な人道的貢献を顕彰する。

SIARAは4年前の開始以来、持続可能な人道事業と社会へのその影響に関する認識を促す最も重要な国際的イニシアチブの1つになるまでに進化した。

TBHFは昨年、危機の高まりに直面する世界中の20カ国以上を支援するため医療、教育、緊急援助に1580万ドルを支出した。

The US$136,000 Sharjah International Award for Refugee Advocacy and Support (SIARA),

granted to local institutions undertaking commendable humanitarian activities across Asia

and Africa, has announced the extension of its nomination deadline to December 31, 2019.

The overwhelming number of inquiries and applications by humanitarian entities

from across Africa and Asia have prompted the organizers to extend the deadline

and enable more applicants complete the formalities for the nomination procedure.

For the first time since its launch, this year, TBHF will receive applications directly

on its website, https://tbhf.ae.

TBHF's evaluation of nominees will be based on tangible benefits and

sustainable impact of interventions, scope of work, objectivity and

transparency in service delivery ethos.

Sharjah-based humanitarian charity, The Big Heart Foundation, organizes the award

in collaboration with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).

The US$136,000 award money is a special contribution by TBHF and does not represent

any share of the donations made to the foundation.

Mariam Al Hammadi, Director of TBHF, said: "Local humanitarian agencies face

the frontline in supporting those affected by crises, ensuring their protection,

and integrating them into host societies. Through this award, we aim to enhance

education and better living facilities."

SIARA embodies the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi,

UAE Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and his wife, Her Highness Sheikha

Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairperson of TBHF and UNHCR Eminent Advocate

for Refugee Children, to recognize key humanitarian contributions in refugee advocacy,

support, and community building.

Since its inception four years ago, SIARA has evolved to become one of the most

important global initiatives promoting awareness about sustainable humanitarian

work and its impact on communities.

Last year, TBHF spent US$ 15.8 million on healthcare, education and emergency

aid to help over 20 nations worldwide facing heightened crises.
