Recently, the concluding ceremony of the large-scale historical documentary "Fu
Sheng" took place at Fu Sheng Park in Handian Town, Binzhou, east China's
Shandong Province. Produced by Shenzhen Shen'ai Film and Television Co., Ltd.,
this documentary marks the first film in China dedicated to the theme of "Fu
Sheng."
The documentary comprises three episodes, with a total duration of
approximately 60 minutes. It follows the life of Fu Sheng, who dedicated
himself to studying, safeguarding, and promoting the Book of History. The
documentary vividly portrays Fu Sheng's tumultuous journey in reviving the Book
of History. The International Shangshu Society has provided authoritative
academic guidance for this project. Professor Qian Zongwu, from the School of
Literature at Yangzhou University, an expert in Book of History studies, and
film and television experts from various institutions such as Shandong
University, Shandong Normal University, Shandong College of Arts, and Shandong
Communication & Media College, have collaborated in reviewing the script.
Following pre-production tasks like script review, location scouting, and
casting, the filming of the documentary commenced on November 28 at the Fu
Sheng Temple in Handian Town, Binzhou, Fu Sheng's hometown. The majority of the
shooting took place locally, with scenes filmed at locations like Heban
Mountain and Liquan Temple. Additional shooting scenes were set in places such
as Jinan, Jining, and Liaocheng in Shandong and Yangzhou in Jiangsu. Once the
production is completed, the film will be broadcast on television channels and
new media platforms at the provincial level and above.
The large-scale historical documentary Fu Sheng aims to spotlight Binzhou's
rich historical heritage and distinctive cultural allure. It seeks to encourage
the public to become acquainted with Fu Sheng, delve into the study of the Book
of History, and contribute fresh vigor to the advancement of innovation and
creation in China's outstanding traditional culture.
